  1. According to the forecasts, we will either have one of the coldest winters on record with ten feet snowdrifts or a very mild gentle winter with very few cold spells. In other words the forecasters don't know. The ones who sell stories to newspapers are claiming the 'killer' extreme winter and the ones who just study the science without selling stories claim it will be very mild. I tend to therefore believe the latter, as they are not forecasting to generate media headlines. Some of the bookmakers have cut odds on a white Christmas because people have been placing bets because of the media stories.
  2. asking on behalf of someone else. due to divorce my friends exwife requested a pension forecast fron his employer who provided it to her. work has now told him he owes them £500 for providing it and must pay it asp is this correct
