  1. I'll keep this short - I have a gift card which clearly shows a printed start date in 2012 and a card expiry date in 2016. In much smaller letters are also the short T&Cs that say the value will expire 24 months from first load. When I received this I noticed the 2 'facts' contradicted one another but assumed as it was clearly printed "card expires xx/xx/2016" we would have no issues. To back this up I actually emailed customer services back in '14 to check and was not told which is correct, but in actual fact Thomson always honour expired gift cards and vouchers ///:razz: So fast forward a yeara nd of course I try to redeem it and I get a card expired notice - I half expected that but the issue I have is in resolving it. I have tried phoning customer services who just say ignore the date and go by T&Cs; they can't help and I must call my local brand; they can't help either and told me to contact the branch it was purchased from....they too can't help and say head office say 24 months that's that and to ignore the email from Thomsons back in '14 becasue they made a mistake. I can't believe the lack of interest or help in this. It's in black and white that the card expires in 16. I am confident in a court of law they would see this as either a mistake or misleading / confusing information; even without the email from the rep; however I have no more avenues to try and not sure the most effective action to take from here.
  2. Hi can anyone help me with advice. i would like to purchase a new car £14,000 with deposit of 3,500. i have one default on my credit file and although my rating is of 999 this default has affected me in the past. it was of £300.00 paid/settled straight away and has sat there for 6 years, its about to be removed 21 September 2014. do you think i will be approved for car finance?? as i do not want to look an idiot if i am refused. i have recently re mortgaged with no problem, but am so frightened of applying for this car. yes i have not got long to wait till it drops off but wondered if anyone has ever had this situation. i have a good job 34k no other defaults. thanks guys xx
  3. My strawman (name recorded at birth) was issued with NTO on the 17/06/2011 and I followed a proceedure of asking the council to prove they had the legal right to issue the ticket. They didn't respond and continued with their standard process of letters until I received the letter from Northampton Courts about the PCN and the money now owed. I wrote them correctly worded letter and they issued a revoking order which revokes the court action but not the original PCN. The council (Wiltshire) has kept on in a never ending circle of re-issueing the NTO and the Court throwing it our each time I send the letter to them. Does anyone know how long the council can issue a NTO for after the alleged contravention, it has now almost been 2 years and I would like to bring this perpetual loop to a close. Thank you in advance.. MisterPCN
  4. and I know that I won't get anything means tested - we're not badly off and my wife is a top rate taxpayer. So, lucky us. I have looked at the JSA3 form and I don't wish to fill it in. It's intrusive and being as I know I will get nothing I can't see the point of giving all that information away. So, my questions are. Do I need to keep signing in order to maintain my NI record (or whatever)? I am still looking for a job and so should still appear in the unemployed stats - is this possible without filling in the JSA3? Thanks
