  2. Hi, Due to Virgin Media price increases, signed up for BT Infinity, phone line and basic TV package on 06/09/16. Supposed to all be working by midnight 23/09/16 - phone line doesn't seem to be working and as everything comes through this I've zero service to date. Spoken to mostly India on the phone (over 5 hours and counting in the past week) and they open a fault then close it off as completed and open a new fault. They are saying an engineer will check from my property to the cabinet on 06/10/16. I suspect we have not been connected at the telegraph pole on the side street but they won't listen. I've had enough and I want to cancel without any charges and they can pick their equipment up. I'm told as it is more than 14 days since I entered into a contract for the service I can't cancel. How can this be? I am told I need to speak to technical again who must deem that the fault cannot be fixed, only then can I leave without penalty. How can BT get away with providing such a shoddy service? Even takes 30 minutes+ just to get through to cancellations! Unbelievable! Kind regards, chaoticj
  3. Gareth Pierce-Jones changed his name and has resorted to court action after he was linked to a serial debt defaulter with the same first name, surname and identical date of birth. His case highlights the intractable difficulties people face trying to rectify errors on their credit files, which are checked by lenders every time a customer applies for credit cards, mortgages or mobile phone contracts. Mr Pierce-Jones, 35, has been repeatedly hounded for another person’s debts since 2010. He changed his surname from Jones to Pierce-Jones in August 2012 to try to solve the problem, but the other individual’s debts remained recorded on his credit file. The debts were listed automatically on his credit file, and Mr Pierce-Jones had to contact the agencies and the debt collectors each time to request that they were taken down. Mr Pierce-Jones has been turned down repeatedly for credit cards as a result of these issues. “It has completely crushed my credit score,” he said. “I am due to renew my mortgage this summer and I want to make sure this is completely cleared up.” One particular debt collection agency, Motormile, began sending letters in 2012 claiming that Mr Pierce-Jones had defaulted on more than £1,000 of payday loans. Despite acknowledging Mr Pierce-Jones was a victim of mistaken identity, the letters continued to be sent to his home in Bracknell, Berkshire. He is now taking Motormile to a small claims court for compensation. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/borrowing/10787200/Changing-my-name-was-only-way-to-escape-debt-hell.html
  4. I'm new here, but I found this through google and i'm looking for any advise you can provide. Yesterday I took my 2010 Ford escape through a touch-less car wash that I've used before. There was no damage to my car prior, however after I left the carwash and drove about a mile, i discovered the damage. My lower grille was hanging down and only barely connected on the underpart of the car. Needless to say the grille is now scratched beyond recognition. I called the number at the carwash and explained what had happened. The owner said he'd review the tapes and get back to me. Later that day he calls to inform me that he watched the video and it shows that the grille came off during the air blower part at the end of the wash. He told me that it had to be loose prior because air couldn't have knocked it off, then he said he'd like to see it. So I grabbed my other half and we met him there. He kept telling us that it was a ford problem and it couldn't have been the car wash because it was touch less, or that the grille had been "bumped" by another car in a parking lot without me knowing. We asked for a copy of the video and he said he would make one in the next week, we pushed a little and he said he'd go upstairs and email it to us. we wait around for 15-30 minutes and my other half goes and knocks on the door (I was on a business call) and was then informed that the computer wasn't working (seems very convenient) and tomorrow or Monday he'd get someone to look at it and get us the video. Continuing to insist we go to Ford, or that my car was bumped prior and that's how it came off. So, I've filed a claim with my insurance, e-mailed ford (it's Sunday so they're closed) and plan to head back to the wash tonight when they do their maintenance to follow up with the owner. I'm at a loss here, I am baffled at how this could happen, and that it's on video happening in his wash, wouldn't it be his fault? I researched and found that the part will cost $312, that's a lot considering it was perfect prior to the wash. The cars only parked in a garage and in handicapped spaces when out so the likelihood of anything more than a shopping cart bumping into the grille without me knowing is pretty darn slim. thank you for any guidance or help you are able to provide.
