I am currently £13,100 in debt. Some run up by my son on my credit cards and some by me while manic(suffer from Schizoaffective disorder). Up to now I have been using all my disability money (esa and dla) on paying towards the debts instead of the care I need so have been relying on my mum to do the caring but she is 80 and it is a strain on her. I am trying to address the debts so I can pay my sister to do the caring instead and relieve my mum. The problem is my creditors seem to think that my DLA and ESA should be used to pay then so it looks like I have got plenty of money. I have tried explaining I need to pay for care but it is falling on deaf ears. Social services have said they cant help because my money should be going on care and not paying debts. I would like to go bankrupt or a debt relief order but was wondering if they also would say I have too much income? Any thoughts.

Hi I moved to Cyprus in 2012, things didn't work out. I went back to the Uk in 2014 to get help, was told by the government I was an immigrant. I had no money & no-where to live. I had no choice but to return to cyprus, as I knew someone who could 'put me up'. I now owe Barclays £6000 & the interest is rising daily. I cannot pay them back. What can I do?

Hi, I've only just come onto this website because I'm know that I need some help. I have made up poor excuses over the years to not face my debt but now I think it the time. I live with my partner and we are about to get married with no plans for children in the near future. These are my debts Barclaycard £2500 Capital One £500 Vanquis £290 Barclays £270 Marisota £800 Provident £50 Next £130 I have missed payments on Capital One for the past two months because I was locked out of my online account and I am ashamed to say I have ignored it. I need to ring them but the telephone number is so expensive to call! I am struggling to come to an agreement with Marisota because they are telling me I have to pay £35 ever 28 days whereas I get paid on a monthly basis. I asked to be able to pay it on one day every month and to reduce the payment as its more than I can afford and they have refused so I haven't made any payments at all. They ofcourse send me threatening letters and I have tried contacting them via email but they have told me that they can't discuss my account via email and that I have to call them. The rest I pay the minimum payments every month. Please could someone give me some advice on how to deal with Marisota/Reliable Collections? I don't know how to deal with it now because they won't accept any payment, only the one that I can't afford and only every 28 days. I am absolutely ashamed of myself and I know it should never have gotten this bad but I'm here now and very very sorry that I am. Thank you for any help.
