  1. Hi We had our garage converted into a habitable room (9 years ago). They installed a new side door. The door has 'warped' and won't open/close properly (can't simply re-align/hang) . 10 year warranty says conversion company is responsible except for third party items which are covered by manufacturers warranty. The door company also advertises a 10 year warranty BUT when we asked them they said they only covered items that they installed themselves. So we have emailed the garage conversion company and had no reply. We have phoned the company twice (over 3 weeks) but there is no-one to talk to except the phone operator - she promised they would phone back but they haven't. Any advice on what to do next and/or where we stand in this matter please ? Thanks in advance, H
  2. Good Afternoon, I've recently joined this site & am looking for any assistance with the following problem. My partner took her 1973 vw camper to a local recommended interior conversion place last year, she discussed what would be required inside & an idea of the price was given at £3K. We collected the camper Friday & have spent the weekend looking at the conversion, there appears to be a great deal off issues with the work: The floor isn't level & its not fitted close to the body The pop-top roof isn't fitted tight enough & looks dreadful with lots of mastic visible The cupboards have been screwed into the floorpan & are the screws are visible underneath There appears to be damage to the paintwork which wasn't apparent prior to the work commencing The original price included the garage purchasing the fridge, floor, window seals & labour. upon collection the price remained the same, however my partner had purchased the flooring, fridge & the bed. We are concerned that A: The work is substandard & B: The garage have overcharged We want to contest the work & price, how should we go about this? Norwicht
  3. Hi, I'm currently in the process of developing the loft of my 3 bed semi-detached house into a bedroom. The dimensions are 17ft by 17ft. I sent the plans to SIMARC and now they are requesting a fee of £360 to view the plans and confirm if I can go ahead or not. The plans have no measurements on and are not complicated by any means. Can anyone help with this and please advise what action to take next...they are a complete nightmare to deal with??? LMT1969:sad:
