  1. A self-explanatory example of Parkers Gazumping cheap practices! Sent: 25 February 2015 16:13:03 To: [email protected] ([email protected]) Hi Dan, Thanks for your call confirming the acceptance of offer. Please find attached assessment in principle done by Halifax earlier. From: [email protected] Sent: 27 February 2015 14:39:01 An offer of £315000 made on (£325,000 ) 197, City Road, TILEHURST, Reading, Berkshire, RG31 4SL Marked as pending at 15:48 25/02/2015 The offer has now been accepted! Sent: 06 March 2015 12:54:13 To: [email protected] ([email protected]) I didn't expect viewings to be arranged after a decision in principle was provided and the offer was accepted. I would like to know at what stage Parkers take the property off the market. Sent: 06 March 2015 15:35:04 To: Daniel Baxter ([email protected]) Hi Dan, Thanks for your call to let me know that I can only go ahead with this property if I offer 5K more as Vendor now has higher offer through Parkers (yourself). May I request a copy of the code of practice that Parkers follow. Avoid such pathetic estate agents using ugly Gazumping practices.
  2. In my usual weekly online order from asda, I ordered their cheapest vodka. When the order arrived there was no vodka and when I telephoned the store to ask why no substitute had been offered, I was informed that under new government guidelines, they are unable to substitute more expensive alcohol. I contacted Tesco and asked if this was the case with them too and they told me that they hadn't heard anything about this, and they would have substituted. I'm still waiting for a phone call from Asda to quote the legislation on this as I can't find it anywhere and surely, if it's EU law, as was suggested, all the online supermarkets would be aware? I've been given a number to call, 0800 9526060, by Beth on Twitter to discuss this, but I suspect that this is the SA call centre who knew nothing about it when I spoke to them yesterday. I'm still waiting for them to get back to me and I have always had good service from them in the past but, if this is true, I'm considering changing to Tesco. Has anyone else heard of this?
  3. I've joined the club as a customer and distributor. So far, I have no complaints. Has anyone had a bad experience they want to share?
  4. As the title says, I'm looking for a VPN to use on my PC and my android devices. With all this guff regarding Governments snooping on personal data, I thought I would try and protect myself and my computers. I'm not doing anything illegal, I just don't like the idea of nosy buggers checking up on us. So, does anyone have any tips on which VPN is best; is it hard to set up; do I need any particular skill to do it? I do know my android tab is rooted Thanks in advance
  5. I purchased a 24 hour return on Brittany Ferries from Plymouth to Roscoff and didn't make the return crossing. I now have a letter from them asking for an additional £101 as the additional amount for a full one way trip. Their T&C state that if you do not make the return crossing your credit/debit card will be charged with the difference between the "special offer price" and the normal one way ticket. Does that also mean that if you do not make either the outward or return journey they could still charge? I wonder if they have any legal right to charge for a service (i.e. the return journey) which I did not use?
  6. Hi Caggers, I want to find a new phone to put my old (big) sim card into that is cheap, is able to record calls as they come in and then transfer them onto my PC. Dose anyone have any suggestions?
  7. Hi all I’m getting in touch on behalf of the Electrical Safety Council – the UK charity dedicated to reducing electrical accidents and deaths in the home. Electrical accidents currently kill around one person every week in their home and injure 350,00 a year. We’re currently running a campaign about faulty electrical goods and we need your help. Have you or a family member ever bought second hand or cheap electrical goods online or at a market stall and run into problems? Perhaps the product didn’t work, overheated, or even caught fire. If so – we’d love to speak to you. If we use your story you could get a reward. Contact me with details at Rachel (@) forster.co.uk
  8. Dark not lager. John Smiths etc is good. Heavy, beer, ale, bitter, easily pleased! Looking for something to kill during Eurovision.
