Hi Guys First off thank you all for your advise on the site it has come in useful for me but I could do with a little more help if thats ok. I recently cancelled my membership with a gym called fitness4less. When I joined they said all i had to do was cancel my direct debit to cancel my membership and foolishly I took this at face value. I cancelled and then received the letter for Harlands saying I owed a months money + an admin fee. After a quick google search I found you guys and the letter from Slick. I amended it, sent it off and a couple of days ago I received a letter from Harlands. It seems to have done the trick but this is where I could use some more advice. The letter read, Dear Mr ***** Ref# ****** Further to you recent letter to our office. We thank you for sending in this information Harlands can confirm that the amount to cancel for the 30 days notice is £19.99. Please forward this payment over payable to Harlands as soon as you can. We hope to find this in order Yours sincerely Harlands As you can see they haven't given me any way to pay so my question is what do I do next? I'm happy to the £19.99 to draw a line under the whole thing but was wondering about the best way to go about it. Call them up or write asking for payment details? Thank you in advance for your help and for putting all this good info out there for people like me! Ni
Hello, I'm a Newbie here and hope somebody can Advise I took out a car insurance policy with LV just recently which was paid for fully and 2/3 weeks later they sent a letter from their POLICY AUTHENTICATION TEAM requesting copies of my driving licence and V5 which I e-mailed photos of to them. They sent me a letter a week or so later saying I owed them short of £27 due to my car having been "aqquired" in 2007 (The date in the V5- I've not noticed this till now but the date aqquired is incorrect - I did a change of address in 2008 and there may have been a clerical error then). On top of that they want to charge a £15 admin fee. I've told them i haven't requested a change so they can't charge me for something i haven't asked for but they are insistent on it to the extent that they are saying they will cancel my policy!!! The confusing part is that The letter states £26.x pence but on the phone they are stating £41.x pence which seems "Illegal" Could somebody please advise if they can or are allowed to do this. What has the date of when I purchased a vehicle 7/8 years ago got to do with my car policy/risk now????? i can understand if it was a year or two ago but 7/8 years ago????? My gripe with them is that they asked on their website when I purchased the vehicle to which I answered in 2006 and they are saying I'm lying yet i've sent them proof of that and they are saying they won't accept my proof - See below. I purchased my car in May/June of 2006 and still have a copy of my Bank statement showing the Bank transfer to my uncle who bought the car for me. I used the vehicle registration as part of the payment reference on the bank transfer. So I've sent them a copy of this yet they are saying that "They can only go off the V5". Much appreciated for any guidance and help
