A friend of mine had a visit from Marston's Enforcement person and was force to pay £650 on the spot. My friend is foreign and doesn't have a lot of English. (The reason for the fine is long story about not understanding how things work in the UK. She didn't commit the offence but was down as the registered keeper of the vehicle.) 1) He showed his badge and pushed his way into her flat while she was looking at it. 2) He threatened to take away the landlord's goods. He said he needed receipts to prove ownership of the goods if they belonged to the landlord. 3) Unaccompanied female being confronted by strange man in her home. 4) He said he had a warrant but did not show her the warrant. 5) She called my wife for advice (they speak the same language) and told me. I then spoke myself with Enforcement person to see what was going on. He told me that he wanted £650 or he would take away the goods. I asked if he would accept part payment he refused saying he had to collect the full amount. I ask if he could put distraint on the goods while she sorted things out again he refused. 6) He said he was recording his visit. Is that legal and can we get a copy? 7) She eventually managed to pay him and was given a Marston’s receipt which only had the Marston’s reference number but no details of the debt/fine. He failed to put his name and details on the space provided on the receipt. 8) He did not leave a copy of the warrant which he said he was acting under. 9) There was no prior warning of his visit. 10) I asked him if was allowed to push his way into her flat seeing that she is a female by herself. He said. “It’s not as though she is some fifteen year old”. I’m all for upholding the law but outright bullying techniques must not be allowed surely. When I asked him about this he replied “I know my job.” Bullies

For many years I have parked in my company designated car space, which I pay for, and my UKPC permit stays on display inside my dashboard. In May I found a UKPC penalty charge ticket on my windscreen saying my permit was not properly displayed. Going online to their website their photos show the UKPC permit visible but the bottom part is hidden by the dashboard. I immediately appealed online and asked them to send me dates of all times they had been to the car park in 2016 as this would show I am (and therefore this was evidence proving I am validly parked). As requested by them I have sent them a copy of my permit and three letters, including invoices for my costs in dealing with them. They have completely ignored my requests for information and last week told me they did not accept my appeal and if I appeal to POPLA early payment discount no longer applies and I would have to pay £100. I am being bullied to pay a lower fine but because this is such a blatant attempt to extract a fine when no offence has occurred I have now submitted my appeal to POPLA. if I lose that appeal I will lose all faith in justice. UKPC advised me they do not have a legal contract with me in relation to my charging them but I feel they should compensate me for time wasted and costs incurred. On my original appeal I told them I would charge them for future correspondence and they did not dispute this or my invoices until 6 weeks later. In 2011 I had a visit at my door from a Scottish Power, canvassing for new customers. I reluctantly gave them information as I knew I would cancel within their "cooling off" period, as I was happy with my present supplier plus the fact that I am disabled I didnt want to be stood for a long period at my door. I cancelled the proposed gas/elec supply within the given "cooling-off" period soon after received a bill for £30. A dispute ensued as they said I had cancelled beyond that period, so the charge must stand. I argued and disputed from day one, but they wouldn't accept it. I then informed them they would not be getting any money from me as I had done everything by the book. Early in 2014 I wanted to buy something on credit, a credit check was made and I was refused. I was upset as I have never had bad credit in my life and I am 71 yrs old. I contacted Experian who explained that the £30 with SP was the problem on my credit report.. Experian requested to have it removed from my credit report, SP refused. I have once again attempted to make a purchase for a EE Mobile Dongle to pay by monthly direct debit payments, and same has happened again. What I dont understand is I have already a contract with EE for my mobile phone and also pay other bills on monthly dd, yet I am refused on this occasion. Its really upsetting as I am a disabled pensioner who hasnt owed anyone within my life and I also feel that SP have no right to do this as I was canvassed & pursuaded on my doorstep, which I believe cold calling is against the law. I am still reluctant to pay this £30 as it is NOT for use of any gas or electric! But where do I go from here......PLEASE HELP!

Hi My son has to attend ingeus appointments he failed to show up at his last one and now has a sanction against him, The last one he attended was the 13 of december and was told in that interview that she would be busy until after the xmas period. My son was calm at this as christmas is a hard time for him bein an anxiety and depression sufferer we go to the interview via a taxi arranged by ingeus and a private room with his mum. we record convos and have not signed anything in ingeus to pass on data etc. The appointments was usually once every 6 weeks but now the advisor the last time he was there booked the next one on the 18th on December 7 days later! yet she explained how busy she was with 200 clients a week on a 3 day shift and said it won't be after christmas! my son was panicking as he's got to then do a spec letter and build himself up to go again so soon, he could not even leave the house that day with panic but the advisor was having non of it and sanctioned him straight away as it was not a valid reason for being worked up ever xmas and not being well to come. We filled out a reasons letter explaining all this that he's struggling getting out the house and can't cope and he's been issued diazepam by his doctor to help but still the job centre gave him the sanction! So today we called ingeus to get another appointment and will try to get him to the next, they have changed his advisor for the 3rd time! My son gets to know someone there and they change again its all very stressful. What would be the best advise in dealing with this sanction? I really don't think its fair! They said they would not make him apply for any jobs nor would he have to seek work but them doing a CV out of what he used to by like by using his past experience in work (how he felt back then) and sending him home to do a spec letter surely is actively seeking a job? I am sick of these bully tactics the last advisor he had on the 13th december let him into a false sense of security saying she understands, she's currently on anti depressants, been homeless has post traumatic stress and was left after domestic violence bring up a kid on her own! Is that really appropriate for someone advising my son on his mental health and supporting him? I find all this disgusting and would like any additional help to get this sanction lifted I am so worried for my soon its left him in tears!

i have issued court proceedings against npower , who harassed me for a bill that i did not owe , and they have even mislead the court on court papers , has anyone else out there taken npower to court ?

Hi, i'm new to this site but ive followed on twitter for a while, sorry if this is a bit long but i want to get all the details out. I had a visit from 2 Marstons enforcement oficers yesterday (18/2/13). I was at work when they turned up & the vehicle passenger knocked on my front door, after a minute the passenger knocked again, during this period they noticed i had a camera mounted on the front of my house & took a lot of interest as to what area it covered, they obviously did'nt realise that i have another hidden one covering the front door. A neighbour across the road was watching them & witnessed what the driver did, he looked around to see if he was being watched, (not very good observation skills) then he tried opening my front door by pushing down on the handle. Luckily for him it was locked as i was at work, but i have a dog & he does'nt take kindly to strangers on my property, they would have clearly heard him barking. They then posted a letter through my door & drove around the back of my house, the passenger came in through closed back gates & looked through my kitchen window & i cant see if he tried my back door but he did notice the cameras i have covering the back of the house, on his way out. My neighbour rang me & later that day i came home & found one of their letters through my door, it was for my ex-girlfriend who no longer lives with me but the dog had ripped the envelope so i got their details from the letter. I rang the EO's mobile phone & left a voicemail for them to come back & see me as i had something to discuss with them. Needless to say they did'nt. I also rang Marstons but the woman was oh so unhelpful, siting Data Protection. I rang the EO again this morning & managed to speak to him, he was the one i have on CCTV attempting to gain entry to my property, i asked him to come back today to try my front door handle again as i was in this time but he waffled on that they did'nt need to come back as they had established that the person named on the letter did'nt live here, when i questioned him as to why he tried opening my door, he said he was allowed to force entry to the property as he was executing a Court Warrant !!!!! If that's the case, why did'nt they force entry when i was'nt there & have the run of my house. I have got the contact details of the HMCTS enforcement officer for my area (thanks to other peoples threads for that info) I rang Marstons today for this EO's SIA badge number as i have his surname but need his badge number to complain to the SIA, they hung up on me HAHA. I have just now got off the phone to the EO that attempted to break into my home, i was very civil & told him i was recording the call & had a witness listening, i asked him for his SIA badge number, which under SIA guidelines, he can't refuse to give me, i know this as ive been a doorman for 7 years, he told me 2 things, 1 - he does'nt give me permission to use the recording & 2 - he does'nt have a SIA licence, even though i pointed out i could see it on the CCTV hanging around his neck by a thin blue lanyard. Where do i go from here, thaks in advance

As internet users, most have us have had the misfortune to come across internet trolls and bullies - but some of these sad individuals take their bullying/trolling to the extreme, posting the most disgusting vitriol that would never ever enter a decent persons thoughts. Up until recently these nasty little people got away with it - especially on Facebook! But not anymore it seems! There have recently been cases of the police taking matters seriously, especially when it comes to racist comments, violent threats and incitement of violence, malicious false slanderous statements and harassment - I myself experienced an unhinged person using both facebook and twitter to harass me with, that was until the police dealt with her. However - Facebook are set to be revealing the identities of these heinous people! About time I say!
