  1. It will be my birthday on Wednesday (30th). I won't go into too many details, but I have never really had many friends in order to have birthday cards from - in some years, the postman doesn't even deliver to my address on my birthday. A couple of days ago, I wrote a tweet on Twitter to say that it is my birthday on the 30th. It would be nice if members could click on it and then click "Like" and "Retweet", just to see that people know and care. You don't need to do anything else such as comment. I would love it to get to at least double figures! I did the same thing last year, and only three people responded. If the late Winnie Blagden can get 16,000 birthday cards on her 100th birthday, then surely I can get at least 10 Likes and Retweets to a special tweet that I have written? My birthday tweet is at: https://twitter.com/George30August/status/901265794935533569 Many thanks!
  2. As Premium Bonds celebrates 60 years since their launch in November 1956 National Savings reveal that there is still nearly £54m still to be claimed. In total 1.3 million prizes have not been claimed, but there is no deadline for bond holders to get their money. The largest unclaimed prizes, of which there are five, are worth £100,000 each. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37824834 You can check if you have any unclaimed Premium Bond prizes by entering your your Premium Bonds holder's number (not your Bond number or NS&I number) Here
  3. It will be my birthday at the end of the month. I will be 38. It always becomes a depressing time of the year as I have no partner and I live on my own. I am planning to travel to Cornwall for a few days as I can't bear being on my own at home on my birthday. I would just love someone (i.e. a single woman in her 20s or early 30s with no kids) to go with me. The problem is that I have Asperger Syndrome, and anxiety and social phobias get in the way, and that is why I have had these problems. I love musicals and the theatre, (I have booked a ticket for a theatre down in Cornwall, not Blackpool, and I will be going to it). OK, I can go on my own, but it's nice to share things with someone you love. Couples married for years take it for granted. It is so difficult writing about how I feel, and it has taken a couple of days just to decide what I want to say on here. I would love to meet someone, and was wondering whether anyone knew anyone who would like to meet someone like myself? I am in the Nottingham area. I know that most of you can't help me here, and I doubt that this message will remain on here for too long, but I do feel better for writing it.
  4. Sorry I didn't do this yesterday, I assumed others would have remembered, then again, how many of the old guard are left? Well, as one of the olden golden 'uns, I want to wish to CAG a very happy, well done 10th birthday wish! Yes, dear readers, 10 years ago (and one day!), a very small with a small band of misfits and reprobates decided to take on the might of the banking industry, and it was called the Bank Action Group. A couple of months later, the idea came about that maybe, we could do more than just tackle the banks and that there were so many more injustices where the might of the people could challenge the status quo whereby the customer always ended up being wrong... and so the name was changed to Consumer Action Group. Well, 10 years on, here we are, still going, despite numerous efforts to bring the site down in many different ways. Even though I am no longer active on the boards, I will forever be very proud to have been part of the fight, to have helped taking the banks and other industries to task, and so, I hope you will all join me to wish CAG a very happy 10th birthday, and here's to the next 10!
  5. The Consumer Action Group is 9 Years Old Today Happy Birthday To All Concerned Best Wishes for the 10th And For Many More To Come
