About Me

  1. Hi, I have received a Civil Parking Charge Notice from Athena ANPR Ltd for exceeding the parking time limit in a Lidl car park in Barnsley. I registered my VRN in the store to validate my stay - I did not realise there was a one hour limit. There are signs around the car park but I did not park near one of them and I did not read them. The signs were not big enough to be read from a distance. How do I proceed with this?
  2. My husband has received a Civil Parking Charge Notice, it's dated 20th November but we received it today!! He was parked for 1:45:12, so 15 minutes and 12 seconds more than allowed. My issue is that we have recently bought an electric car and are lucky that in our local Lidl there is a charging point for 2 cars. Unfortunately there aren't any signs as to what it is and any time I go in I have to wait to park. I have had 2 people kindly telling me there are other spaces, when I point out that I can only use 2 they say 'oh, I wondered what that was'. My husband was parked for less th
  3. Hi - I was caught by an ANPR overstaying by an hour and a half at Lidl, Hayes. I was a customer in the store that evening and have proof of payment of purchases that did take a long time (kids winter wear in the aisle of shame...) but did subsequently overstay beyond that. Details are below. Is it worth appealing to Lidl on this one or do I have to suck it up as it was such a substantial amount of time overstayed? Thank you very much 1 Date of the infringement 29.11 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received within 14 days from the 'offence' date] 3.12 3
  4. My daughter received a so called PCN from these jokers, she had apparently overstayed by 10 minutes. I helped her with the appeal letter and we sent it using my email. They've replied saying they can't continue correspondence as the name on the email is different from the name they have on file as registered keeper & they want proof of ID either Passport or Driving Licence. We've both replied saying that's not happening & my daughter asked whether they'd have requested ID from a posted letter appeal and her email could be unicorns&rainbows@blahblah and that wouldn't match the
  5. Hi all, I'm trying resolve this issue with PCN I have received recently from Athena ANPR Ltd for overstay at Lidl. The overstay was 14 min. 35 sec. Arrived at 09:43:43 and left 11:28:18 = duration 1:44:35 Shops opens from 10AM Sunday. Short story, it was Sunday just before 10AM and I saw ppl outside Lidl so I thought it might be open. Parked my car and there was just a queue in front of Lidl..., so went for a walk, as this was my first stay in Mablethorpe. Off course I did forget to take my swimming shorts with me, so spend bit longer in Lidl, looking for
  6. Hi all I am trying to help my Aunt who has received one of these parking charges through the post. 1 Date of the infringement 18/06/2018 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received within 14 days from the 'offence' date] 20/06/2018 3 Date received 22/06/2018 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act 2012? 7. Daughter (not the registered keeper) parked 25mins over the allowed time at Lidl Clapham Junction car park. Did some shopping and mostly browsing at Lidl Clapham but also went to other stores. Got sent Civil Parking Charge Notice. Was intending to pay within 14 days but forgot and now it is over 28 days. Any advice would be helpful Many thanks
  8. Hi i have recieved a PCN from athena anpr for going over the 90 min parking limit in lidl. I was 14 mins over. I have read previous threads and i am 50/50 on whether to ignore or pay. Please help
  9. Hi! My wife shopped at Lidl and where in and out for 54 minutes. car park says its "FREE" to park for 1 hour 30 minutes if you registered your vehicle. We have been shopping at this Lidl for years and we never have to scan anything for parking so she did not scan the receipt as she wasnt aware and its probably something new. so after a few days we got a Parking charge notice (PCN) with a heading saying that its a "CIVIL PARKING CHARGE NOTICE" and they are asking us to pay £90 (or £45 if paid within 14 days). I believe that my wife did no parking contravention nor parked there
  10. Hi guys, I have got home today to a civil parking charge notice from athena ANPR as I overstayed at a LIDL car park. The car park was free for 90 minutes. I stayed 100 minutes and 8 seconds. I have now been charged £90 and told that I will only pay £45 I'd I pay within the next 14 days. I have been sent photos of my vehicle to prove, along with threats of debt collection or further legal proceedings if i don't pay. I did not shop at LIDL on the day, was being 'cheeky' I guess and just using their park for free. LIDL was only open for the first 10 minutes of my stay, after
  11. I overdid my stay in Lidle as I could not decide over a walllnut loaf or a graian loaf (honest). Have had a letter come in the post saying I owe £45 (£90 if not paid in 14 days). I understand a lot of these private car park firms have little legal legs to stand on, can I just tell them to shew or is there a small amount I can pay, I heard if there is an hourly rate they can legally only charge you per that hour that you stayed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just read this.... Dairrty old buggers aint they. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/s
  12. Hello, My mother has just called me saying she has received a letter from Athena ANPR Ltd for overstaying 21 minutes at a Lidl store in Melton Mowbray. She did her shopping there, however, she paid cash and didn't keep any receipts from her shop. What would be the best course of action? Appeal to the parking company? Contact Lidl? Details below: 1 Date of the infringement 17/01/18 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received within 14 days from the 'offence' date] 19/01/18 3 Date received 22/01/18 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections
  13. Hello, My wife recieved a notice to keeper letter from Athena Ltd today. She had overstayed the allowed time of 90 minutes by about 30 minutes. She had shopped at Lidl and has the reciept to prove this. I have read a fair few posts on this website, and have a general idea of how this works out, but would appreciate help. Many thanks. Here's the answers to the questions from the other sticky post: 1 Date of the infringement 24-03-17 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received w
  14. Hello all I've received a civil parking charge notice from Lidl. I was there 1 hour 48 mind with a limit of 1 h 30 mins, I never saw the signs. I don't know what to do next. 1 Date of the infringement 04-08-17 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received within 14 days from the 'offence' date] 08-08-17 3 Date received 10-08-17 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act 2012? 15. Hi All, Lots of threads about this lot, and lots of information to go through.. ...seems each case should start a new thread: I need advise to my next steps. I think I may have made a mistake: NOTE: I do have a bank statement showing a payment on the given date. However, don't want to use this, as these things infuriate me that they can get away with this stuff.... I have scanned my letters and emails attached. As advised redacted info. Attached is: Letter 1 - First ATHENA invoice. EMAIL - Back to Athena, this is where I may have made a mistake as I
  16. Evening, Last wednesday iv received typical civil parking notice from Athena. 45 quid Iv overstayed 10 mins. Went into lidl to buy water and some biscuits, paid cash. threw out receipt. Afterwards went to the bank which is in opposite street. Came back to car and drew away. I don't usually shop at Lidl, so i wasnt aware of their policy regarding parking. After the incident, i went back to the same Lidl to take sign photos. What really surprised me that there's no mention 10 min rule. Besides isn't it clearly stated, that i can park for MAXIMUM STAY 90 mins per store. R
  17. On 23/0/15 I made a £16 purchase at Lidl. I wasn't able to buy all items at Lidl, so ventured to Iceland to buy what I could't get at Lidl. (I have proof that I used Lidl). I evidently had overstayed at the car park by 10 minutes. My husband (Registered Keeper), has since received 3 red-topped letters from Athena ANPR Ltd; Overdue Reminder £45, Civil parking chargeicon Notice £90 and Final Demand £90. No communication or acknowledgement has been forthcoming from myself or my husband. The Final Demand is stating amongst other things that failure to pay could result
  18. As a gym member, we're allowed 2 1/2 hr free parking. On the day I took my daughter's car and input my car's reg on terminal. After gym session, I went to lidl for some shopping but paid via cash. I thought I'm still within 2 1/2hr time limit so didn't bother to extend on lid's terminal. 1) Should I declare that I'm the driver on the day? Then explain the situation. 2) As the fine is for exceeding the time limit of 01:30hrs, I'm thinking that gym membership parking allowance should cover despite the actual stay being 02:46. 3) the registered keeper (my daughter) is not in UK since
  19. I have been called in by my boss today and presented with the attached....how is the best way to deal with this please ? My boss wants me to pay...
  20. Hi there, long time reader first time writer! Hoping someone can clarify the most up to date advice please? I've received a NTK from Athena ANPR Ltd for a "Civil Parking Charge Notice" for £90!!!! for overstaying in a carpark at a Lidl store. I hadnt noticed any parking restriction signage. The store was due to close shortly after the vehicle was parked and was closed well before the vehicle left. Alleged Infringement date was 24/03/16. Date on the NTK is 31/03/16 Date received was 02/04/16 There is no mention of schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act
  21. My father is in his 70's and was worried when he received a Parking Fine from Athena Ltd and complained to me that he actually parked in their car park and shopped in the Lidl store. He was there for quite a while and I am unsure if he went anywhere else either way the ticket states he was 1 hour and 13 minutes. In his annoyance my father contacted Athena to complain about the ticket and was given a deadline to appeal but handed it to me to write to them. I was very dismayed that he contacted them and informed him that he should not bother with civil parking fines but as a
  22. I accidentally overstayed by 28 minutes in a Lidl car park in Leicester and so my father (who is the registered owner) was sent a parking charge notice for £90 (reduced to £45 if paid within 14 days). I need to appeal by today but have no idea what to say as I have never received something like this before and I do not want my father to have numerous notices sent to him so what can i do? The signs are not very clear at all in the car park and are just dotted around and you would only really be able to see them if you parked in the spot directly in front of the sign
  23. I received a parking ticket from Athena which did have photographic evidence apparently you are only allowed to stop no longer then 10 minutes if more then you need to register within the store, the writing on the sign about this is very small and people who read the sign on arrival will only see the big writing which states free parking for up to an hour??? confusing I have appealed on a few occasions but they are ignoring and threatening CCJ ect., cannot find a number to ring lidl myself to intervene as I think it is unfair for one branch to do this and the
  24. Hello, I have recently come across this thread and at my wits end. I'm someone that has always paid whatever fine possible and tried to stay away from these wicked exploitation which brings me to my recent dilemma. I received a 'civil parking charge notice' by the above mentioned body of Athena APNR Ltd. It details the Incident date : 5/3/16 Issue date: 9/3/16 Parking charge: £90 With no mention of a law under any section by the way. The problem is the time I have used the parking space. I parked there due to the fact that the store was closed which was at 2:47 am. My
  25. I have received a parking notice from Athena after exceeding the hour and a half they allow while shopping at Lidl. I do not have a receipt from the day. I've read a lot of information on how to deal with it but I'm not sure how I should go about it. I also work for Lidl which is ironic and will ask my manger for advice but this happend at a different store.
