  1. Well this is a first for me, have been installing windows for years but this laptop has got me so frustrated now. Friend brought this to me after he thought he was clever completely blanking the hard drive and all partitions, Using a USB drive I managed to get windows 8.1 installed but none of the drivers from Acer will install just freeze up the machine. After 4 days I am pulling my hair out now (if I had any) but finally got most things installed but no wifi, no matter what driver I try it just freezes the machine up and have to hard boot it with power button. Has anyone got one
  2. Hi, I purchased a laptop just over 18 months ago from PC world,an acer v5 Last week it packed up without warning. I took it to a local it specialist who sent it to acer for an engineers report which I received today, the mainboard has failed and acer now want £350 from myself to carry out the repair.   3. Hi all. We purchased a acer aspire one from comet last boxing day for a present .We have had a lot of problems with it. First the microphone didnt work, a key has popped off the keyboard, and the screen has now failed. comet fobbed us off from day one, and so recently we contacted acer who seemed very nice and said dhl woul collect the laptop and repair under warranty.   4. I took out a mobile internet contract with Vodafone which included a Acer Aspire laptop 23 months ago which was fine, had no issues. The contract is due to finish next month and i have informed Vodafone that i do not wish to extend my mobile internet service.   5. Our lass has an Acer netbook she bought from an online reseller. Just within the warranty period it developed a fault and now I'm trying to sort it out - we're now actually 2 weeks outside warranty. I didn't realise this at the time. Acer have refused to get involved. I understand the contract is with the online reseller. Am I right in saying that although the laptop is outside the normal warranty period it is reasonable to say that 1 year is not fit for purpose or of satisfactory quality? Finally should I be quoting the sale of goods act or the EU legislation? Thanks
  6. I have a laptop that Acer sent me in April this year to replace a previous one that was faulty. The laptop is an Aspire 5942g that replaced a Aspire 6930. The new laptop now has the same problem as its' predecessor - it stopped playing Blu Ray discs, then stopped playing any type of disc. I've asked Acer to fix it under warranty, but they say I have to pay because the warranty of the original laptop expired earlier this year.   7. Hello I am not sure if this is the right location to post this in, I did look around a bit but this seemed to be the most relevant place to post this problem. I will try to keep this short and sweet but there is a lot of problems :c If you do not want to read my wall of text, I have made a summary of the problem at the bottom!
