  1. Hi. I am in the middle of a dispute with Creation Financial Services. I was speaking to their helpline and they said they had accessed a telephone call I had made two years earlier and that I had not changed my address with them. Can they really access these phone calls from two years earlier in a matter of two or three minutes I was on the phone waiting for a supervisor to access the call. I didn't and don't believe they accessed it that quick and think they lied to me. Can you tell me if they can access calls from two years ago that fast? Thanks.
  2. Hi all So I've been self employed for 3 and a bit years now, always paid my self employed taxes on time, but today when I try and access my bookmarked HMRC link, I get: Access Denied You have tried to access a page that you have no permission to view. Please click 'Next' to proceed URL being - https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/self-assessment So I click next and it redirects me to here - https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/personal-account And there's nothing on that page about self assessment, the only tax bit is: How you pay Income Tax Pay As You Earn (PAYE) Check your tax codes and an estimate of the tax you'll pay. Anyone else having any issues?
  3. A couple of weeks ago I received an unsolicited call from someone representing a pyramid scheme claiming to have found my details on a well known internet jobs site with an aquatically referenced name. After telling the lady I was not interested and asking her to remove me from any database or mailing list I began to consider how she had accessed my cv if she was not a bona-fide employer. Upon inquiry to the site operator I was told that this was indeed an abuse of their services and that the people responsible had their site privelege removed for said abuse. At first I was inclined to leave it at that but a conversation with someone from the DWP highlighted that their site uses a similar system but contact information is left oblique on your posted cv and the employer must invite you to apply to gain these thus allowing you to confirm by clicking that you authorise the release of your contact info. Upon advice from the Information Commissioners Office, I am in the process of drafting a formal complaint to the organisation involved and I'd like to ask readers if anyone has experienced this type of thing before? Scary thing is - How many cvs are easily accessible to people like this and more scary still its a goldmine of info for potential identity thieves. Many thanks
  4. Hello all, Need advice on how to go about getting info re 2nd Account with Santander. I have had big problems with Santander since they took control of Abbey National...but the biggest problem is recently they asked me if I had a 2nd Account with another person ?? They said it was opened in 1998/9 but has never been used and that it was in my name and one others. I have since been trying to ascertain with whom and failed. When getting my cash book updated, the cashier has commented every time "there's alot of activity on this account" even though I only have got a cashpoint card and cash out money once or twice a week, sometimes not that many times. I questioned this with the Manager, and she was offhand and only offered me a complaint leaflet, when she could've helped question the matter....adding to the suspicion, the cashier mentioned above, looked very worried when the Manager brought my book up to date.... Can anyone advise me on what to do? I'm having alot of difficulty in understanding why an account is still open if it has never been used ? How can I get to access this information to check its not fraudulent ? Many thanks
