1. Hi, I was on a one-way road with double yellows and needed to answer a phone-call. Another car came and parked on the opposite side of the road (in the same direction); therefore, there was not much space for a car to go past so I climbed the kerb and was stationary for about 2 mins. I don't know if it's of any relevance, but I had my break lights on all the way and moved off within a couple of minutes. One of those small cctv cars came up behind me and then drove off. I received a ticket not too long after. I have written an appeal saying that I had to get on the pavement to let other cars past but haven't received a reply yet. I've attached pic's. I was wondering the following: 1: My logic tells me that I wasn't "parked", but is that legally the case. 2: I honestly had no idea that what I was doing was against the law, I don't recall reading anything like that in the highway code and despite a lot of googling and still cant even find clear info on it so how can they penalise someone for it? 3: Does anyone have any advice on how and if I can successfully appeal this? Thanks in advance for any help offered.
2. I have just received a PCN for an offence of 62J. Although the pictures sent show my vehicle with 2 wheels on the pavement I was not parked. I have pulled over to let a car pass me as they were driving too close and dangerous. You can see on the pictures that my brake lights where on all the time and the 2 pictures provided are 3 seconds apart because as soon as the vehicle behind me had gone passed I pulled away. Do I have grounds for appeal as what constitutes parking as in my eyes I was not parked which is backed up by the 2 pictures clearly showing my brake lights on and only 3 seconds apart before I then depart
3. Hello all, After having a search around and read a few of the PCN posts on this site, I was hoping that someone could clarify whether I was rightfully issued a 62J PCN. The place that I had parked is in the black marked area in the below picture, but it was early evening at 17:43 in winter to be precise. There were no cars in the disabled bays and the PCN states that I've parked with one or more wheels on or over a footpath or any part of a road other than a carriageway. I don't believe I was parked over a footpath as it's more of a parking bay entrance... Do I have a hope of contesting this? I was in the car the whole time waiting to pick up my parents from the train and was not there more than 6-8 minutes. Thanks for reading and I'd be most grateful for any advice given. Regards Ki PS: the traffic warden was in one of those little cars with the camera on top and it seems from the still pictures that they've sent, he/she took it quite a distance away and certainly at night and the distance do make it looks as if my car was parked on a pavement.
