Hello Guys, I'm new here and any help would be greatly appreciated. Over the past 2 years i have received around 35 parking tickets from UKPC, the majority of which have been issued in my work place office car park. So far i have not replied and ignored any correspondence from UKPC and their debt collection agency. Previously they have been sending all 'debt' letters separately but in July 2018 the debt collection agency have issued me with a letter accumulating the full amount (£5000+) and stating 35 tickets have been issued and that if i don't reply by 08/08/18 they will inform their 'client' to take legal action. It is now 23/08 and nothing has happened. While most people online tell you to simple ignore them as speaking to them in any capacity makes you agree to their 'terms' and by ignoring them they have no power, i have since had a colleague in the same situation for a smaller amount £1500 had a CCJ taken out against his name and his car clamped! This has now panicked me a tad bit and want to resolve the issue ASAP! I can think of two options and would like to know what is best or if you guys have any other advice for me. 1). Call UKPC and negotiate to pay half the amount over the period of a year, or something. Saying i was not the driver (cannot give driver details as i don't know who was driving on the given dates) but would like to settle the issue regardless, not accepting fault but wanting to settle this none the less. Do you think it is likely they would agree to these terms? Also how on earth do i get into contact with a person at UKPC as they have no number and hard to find someone to get into contact with! I don't want to go through the number provided on the debt collector as i assume they have no power and will request the full amount. 2). As i said the majority of tickets were issued at my place of work, if i am able to get a email on a headed page or headed paper from the building manager/security guard who is employed by the property management company who look after our office, who i assume engage UKPC, saying that there was an issue with my permit and that i shouldn't have received the tickets (along the lines of this) then forward this to UKPC. Again i have the issue of trying to contact someone at UKPC and then i can say i will pay any other tickets issued at another location but i want may void any of the ones issued at my place of work. Sorry for the lengthy post but quite a large amount of money of which i neither want to or can afford to pay. Is there any advice you guys could give me about what to do and how to get hold of a person at UKPC. Many thanks, Kyman595
Hi. Back in January of 2014 in readiness for my partner moving in as I was pregnant, I informed HMRC that he was moving in on a specific date in May 2014. And then on that date I wrote again to tell them he had actually moved in. I viewed this as a change of circumstances. Our single claims were shut down and a new joint claim was set up. In the meantime my baby was born, my son moved out and various other changes happened prompting a deluge of letters from the HMRC. Consequently I didn’t notice until it became time for the annual review of the 2016-2017 tax credits award that I hadnt received the disability premium for two years. I hadn't noticed that the statement 'you have a disability' had been omitted. I told the HMRC and after much letter writing and phone calls I have now been told that at some point I filled in an application form for joint tax credits and neglected to tick the box saying I get DLA. The HMRC already knew I was disabled from when I claimed on my own I was given one month’s payment of disability premiums but I have to fight for the rest. I have submitted a mandatory reconsideration request which is on-going. They say I didn’t tick a box which, if I didn’t, was probably because DLA doesn’t count as income. It could also be due to the fact that I am registered blind and severely partially sighted and would have been struggling with the form. Also when I received the the updated award notice I would have been checking for changes relating to my relationship status, not my disability. Similarly when my baby was born and the award changed again, I would have been checking to see if all the details related to her were correct. Does anyone have any advice on the likelihood of getting two years’ worth of disability premiums paid back to me? Thank you
Hello all During the tax years of 2010 and 2011, I claimed Working Tax Credit as I was self-employed, on a low income and worked the required amount of hours. Last year HMRC decided to review my case, and as I was not being paid an hourly rate, and being paid a lump sum per invoice, I was no longer entitled to WTC, even though I could easily show I was working the required number of hours weekly. I did not have the stomach, nor the time, to keep arguing the toss with them so allowed my WTC to stop. Just yesterday a bill from HMRC for just shy of £5,000 landed on my mat, asking for immediate payback or debt collection! Being self-employed they all my address details and this is the first bit of correspondence I've had asking for payback to something I was genuinely entitled to!! They have not given me the option to contest this on the letter, but I darn well will. I didn't steal this money - I needed it when business was waning and I have worked bloody hard to improve my business in challenging times. Hopefully, one of you lovely people can offer some advice of where to begin...
Hello, I'm pretty new to this kind of thing but I'm in a serious mess. I've read up about what options are available to me regarding this debt of £5000 due to redundancy at work and I need to know how I can tackle it in a proper manner. I have led an underprivilaged life so when I was accepted with littlewoods I did go on a mad spending spree but was always able to keep up my payments, at the time of redundancy I only owe'd alittle over £2000 and in recent months they have added interest on buy now pay later purchases which have evidently pushed my debt upto a huge £5000, I am now overdrawn with them by about £50 due to penalty charges ect. I am since claiming benefits which due to my age is a minor £140 a fortnight which is barely enough to sustain an average lifestyle. I have tried to reason with them over the phone by explaining my situation but they insist that I need to pay a minimum of £165 on a temporary repayment plan, they have since passed this debt onto a DCA and they are now requesting the amount again but I insist I am unable to pay so they suggested I should get a form with my in-goings and outgoings on and submit it to them by post. I receive phone calls daily requesting money and paperwork almost every week or so. I have contacted a debt charity and they are sending me the forms I can use to submit to littlewoods but I have no idea what I'm doing or how things are going to pan out. I have always been quite good with money and have never really had a skidmark on my credit score untill now, because of the gravity of the debt I am scared this will goto court and things will get harder and evidently cripple my credit score in the long run. I need some advice and assistance with this matter if anybody is willing to help me, I would really appreciate the advice, obviously not having done anything like this before I am left shaken and worried about the outcome and I feel like I have no support from littlewoods considering my circumstances. Redundancy is an unforseen occurrance and they share no sympathy or empathy to my cause. Please help!
