  1. Today, I paid for a 2 hour parking ticket for a Council Car Park. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and went and pushed the ticket into the plastic windscreen clip the wrong way around and left the car without noticing it. When I returned nearly 2 hours later to buy another ticket, my car had a PCN notice stuck to the windscreen which cited "parking in a car park without clearly displaying a valid ticket....." This had been issued about half way through my parking time. I went to the warden's office and he said it might be worth appealing as I clearly had a ticket. When I got home and re-read the PCN and thought.. ..Was the ticket valid? - YES. Was the ticket clearly on display? - YES (it was back to front, but it was clearly on display) Not sure what to do...pay the £25 or appeal?
  2. I am looking for some advice on how to dispute a debt with RBS (passed to Westcot) which is entirely made up of bank charges. In Dec 2010 my account went overdrawn overnight due to a payment coming off (I had no overdraft facility on my account so unsure as to why the payment wasn't just rejected?). Anyway I went 'overdrawn' by pennies - an amount less than £1.00. I went to the bank the following morning when it opened to pay this amount back in, thus taking my account balance back to 0.00. A bank charge of £29.50 was then due to be taken off at the end of that month. I couldn't afford this so I opened a bank account elsewhere, and asked that the account with RBS be closed. They refused and kept adding charges onto charges onto charges. I was made redundant in March 11, and informed them of this but they still kept adding on charges for nothing. The entirety of the sum I owe them is bank charges. They eventually sold the debt on to Westcot and it is sitting at 800+. I would like to dispute this but I don't know what the best course of action is. Should I write to the RBS, or go straight to the FO? Are there any template letters I could use?
  3. So times are hard at the moment, the company i work for has completely changed their management and the regime is very different. They are combating us like we are criminals. Many dismissals, disciplinarys, counselling, targeting, sackings, resignations ...ect My new boss is targeting me. Since his arrival of just over 1 year now he has on numerous occasions unfairly treated me badly, made up things and generally picked on me. I will give you a couple of examples. 1. Accused me of not leaving my home on time (even though i do and i have a vehicle tracker to prove i do). Then shouted at me saying if i want to argue with him he will get a dossier together and get me fired. 2. Forcing me to skip a break in the space of 8 hours and then forcing me to go to another job which travelling would be 3 hours and would mean i come home 2.5 hours after when i should be home at the finish of my shift. So i worked 10 hours without a break. 3. He has texted me saying 'YOUR HEADING FOR BIG TROUBLE' when i told the company i need to take my lunch before i travel 2 hours to a job (this was 7 hours in my shift and on a separate occasion to the above) This is just a few examples of MANY. and i know he has targeted 2 others on a couple of occasions but mainly focused targeting me. Should i go to HR with a grievance on him? or is it not worth the hassle? If i did go to HR what does a grievance mean? just a slap on the wrist? how would they know im telling the truth? I really just want to get on with my job, do my best within my contracted hours with no hassle!
  4. Hi there, Wonder if I can get some advice on this. Appreciate Interparcel are a common point. 2 weeks ago I sent a parcel to Amazon using Interparcel and their my hermes courier. It was worth £1500 and has gone missing. The parcel contained DVDs and is not on their prohibited items list in their t's and c's. The parcel has been showing on their tracking now for 10 days as out for delivery. Interparcel have fed me various fabricated stories which now result in them claiming the parcel has been delivered, but there is no proof of delivery, which they are trying to get me. Amazon say the parcel has not been delivered . Interparcel have been trying to get proof of delivery for 5 days, and have tried to fob me off with a spurious one already. Interparcel have pretty much ignored most of my emails, and rather than this being a single mistake, have shown a complete failing of their systems to help me at all in any way. They have even hung up on me. They are unhelpful to the point of being down right rude. I would say they have done nothing and are negligent. I have so far spent over £40 in costs calling their premium rate number. The drop down menu on their site defaults to £20, and this is the value I have given when booking the courier. (to be honest I would think if you declared it as £1500 it would be much more likely to be stolen). To insure this may cost £100, and I post them fairly often so even with this loss it is cheaper to self insure...however that does not mean I think I should not chase this. How would I go about this? What evidence should I ask for, and what steps should I take. Is it worth reporting this to the police? I wonder if to justify this loss on my accounts I would need a crime number anyway. Which police force to report it to? (delivery was in Swansea). When the contents of this parcel were sold by me £650 in tax would have been generated, so in theory that would be worth the Police working on! Also it would seem a rather simple step as the parcel has gone missing while out on delivery to question the delivery driver who had this parcel last. Again any advice appreciated, any steps to take...
  5. I looking for a bit of advice. My husband has been unwell for the last 18 months and last year had spinal surgery to correct the problem. Since he had the surgery he has suffered blackouts. He went back to work in June but is still suffering. Work has paid for him to have a medical and while the report says he has problems, the company should try and make allowances while the cause is found out. The report also says his problems are covered by the Disability Act. What I'm wanting to know is can they sack him. He has a stage 3 meeting next week to discuss his level of absence and the letter does say that as part of company policy he could be dismissed. We are both worried as if he is dismissed we are not entitled to ESA contribution based and I earn just over the limit for income based. Any help would be appreciated. Joanne
  6. Evening, Is it true that letting agencies cannot do a thorough check like a bank and only see CCJ's and other similar marks on your report? Or Do they only look for those? I read somewhere they cannot access the defaults on an account. Looking to rent but have a few defaults. Hopefully I'll find somewhere.
  7. In simple terms this is 1 of my 3 accounts, its literally used for a couple of direct debits that I want to keep separate. Having second thoughts considering I keep missing them. I had a direct debit come out this morning which I had forgotten about, checked my bank and it had been paid so I thought best transfer enough in so i'd not go overdrawn which I did. And being extremely cynical of banks I take screenshots of everything just incase. Interestingly I just checked back and that same direct debit has now been bounced and if you have a look at my screenshots from lunch time today and this evening you will see that they prized the bounced dd between the dd and the credits. Naturally i'm extremely anoyed about this and you can bet that if i'd not of credited the account they'd of paid it and charged an od fee. I will be charged £25 for this so naturally if I can get around this i'd like to. I should add that there is no charge for being less that £10 overdrawn and they do not charge for being overdrawn if you are bank before 3.30 that working day. Any ideas much appreciated.
