  1. I was recently made redundant as the company is in financial difficulty. The director is completely dodgy having rolled the company a few times to get rid of debt and not pay his creditors. I have been offered the correct redundancy payment of 3 months as worked there for 2 years, they also promised me a payment of 3 weeks gross pay. I have received a letter stating these payments will be made as my monthly salary with the final payment having the extra included. I have been advised by the ops manager that the director is planning to roll the company again soon. I now have a new job to start but won't be able to let them have my P45 as I won't receive this until I get my last pay. I have emailed him to ask if he could pay in a lump sum to avoid me being taxed on a 2nd job but he has said he doesn't have the money and he will stick to the monthly payments. If he closes the company will I still be entitled to my redundancy?

    HMRC Worry

Hello My father is currently in a Nursing Home on a permanent basis after a couple of years of bad health. Prior to that he was a Self Employed Accountant. However we have been getting mail from HMRC asking for him to file his tax return, and penalty notices amongst other things. We believe that nothing has been posted for at least 3-4 years? I am awaiting POA to come through but until then I really am at a loss what to do as they wont entertain talking to me. He also has a DC chasing him for £2050 which is also for HMRC. Any help greatfully appreciated.
  3. I joined xercise4less 25/9/14 - 1st payment £9.99 for 12 month contract. I visited appox 6 times over 2 years. Last payment made 25/05/16 and membership & direct debit cancelled on 26/5/16. I was on a 30 day rolling contract. Membership cancelled due to ill health HHT I was advised no strenuous activity. Overall I was happy with the gym provisions but occasionally I was put off by a male cleaner in the women's only area, though I just managed this. 1st letter from Harlands - 3/6/16 unable to collect June instalment due to DD being cancelled; will charge £25:00 admin fee = £34.99 owed due to not contacting them. I had tried on 6/6 & 13 & 14/6/16 but line constantly busy. Eventually I spoke with someone at Harlands and they said they couldn't help as they are a third party and to speak with the Manager to say I was misinformed about the process! I contacted the Manager at Xercise4less who informed me that my membership had not been cancelled and I needed a W number. I told him that I received an e-mail on 26/5/16 confirming that my request to cancel was submitted to Harlands and it included my W number that had been provided to me by the gym who advised me to cancel. He passed me on to the helpline who told me I owed for several months and administration fees because I cancelled my DD and I shouldn't have. The membership cancellation form would not submit to Xercise4less without me ticking that I shouldn't cancel my DD not must not. Letters received from CRS - Credit Resolutions Services - I contacted them and apparently they have nothing to do with cancellations and that I need to go through Harlands. I contacted MRP Cancellations in August who, thanked me for my e-mail and said they were looking into my enquiry. However could not locate my membership at first and requested further details, which I forwarded! When they finally did I received an e-mail from ICS Customer Service saying we have no input onto cancellations, it is not our fault your membership is not cancelled . I've now received a letter from CRS threatening 2 courses of action 1. Legal Action and 2. Outsourcing the debt to another company. Apparently I owe £171.47. What do I do? I've contacted head office for xercise4less, Harlands, the support ine, head of cancellations, CRS. I am so confused. I've spent so much time on this I feel I should be charging them as its time away from working on gaining another work contract. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
  4. Sorry of this is not the right place. My dad sent a large amount to me this morning via faster transfer. Was sent from his HSBC advance to my Co-op account. We set up the details the other day and sent £50 to test it was right and the payment this morning was via the automated phone system using the details which were already set up so they are 100% correct. Its 9 hours since and no sign of anything my end, he is not home and comes from the 3 day transfer age so doesn't seem concerned but I am pretty worried as I know its almost instant now. This must surely of been flagged up for further checks or something, HSBC did boot me out last year without reason so i'm hoping that is not an issue. Does anyone know what might be going on or the process for this?. At what point is there a serious issue?. I do need the money fairly urgent so it is a pain. Should of just got him to draw £300 a day for a month.
  5. Possible discipline over Security worry !. Wondering if anyone can see the situation from a different perspective. I moved to a different office from another public office to start a different job. Whilst training last Week, my trainer helped me and sat with me whilst I completed a form that could be emailed to another outside organisation. The organisation had a legal entitlement to receive this information. I did doubt this with my trainer but she just said send the email, so I reluctantly sent it. Shortly after, I discovered that I had ticked the wrong box on the form, which then stopped a warning message from appearing. The message would have said ‘ post this data only as an email would be a security issue’. I think it is something to do with the type of data and that the internet is not trusted enough, even though some personal data can be emailed via the internet. I recalled the message and phoned the organisation but they checked and said that the email had not been rec’d at their office. They doubted it was even sent, possibly due to the fact that I had added information to the subject line which is known to cause linking problems apparently. I know security ignorance is not going to help me as I have responsibility here too and I do not blame others as I should have refused to follow her instructions, However, I feel as though support has not been forthcoming and procedures have not been followed, not to mention my trainer who was actually training me how to complete and send this form. I feel that this supervisor was ignorant of the processes too and this has bounced on to me. I spoke to my line manager but she said don’t worry, so nothing was reported. However, my trainer said ‘you pressed the button’. I read up on security policy afterwards and my heart sank because it seems that this could fall under serious to gross misconduct, because even though I sent it to the correct people, I communicated the data under the wrong format ( email as opposed to post ) Even though it was an accident / error, partly due to training confusion I feel, my job could be on the line if it blows up. Everyone else seems unconcerned. If anyone has their own feelings, please share. Thanks very much stella
  6. Ok on 20/1/15 i was stationary at zebra with people crossing, got rear ended by builders van cause he's looking at building work other side of road. he's a self employed builder carpenter. He offered to pay for repairs but seeing damage I knew car was a write off - so I insisted through insurance, so we exchanged details, he apologised admitted liability, I did a quick DVLA / MID check, there and then and van insured , mot and taxed. I even took license number from him, you'd think I done it by book.... Now it turns out license , van registered and insurance at his mums address, he lives elsewhere with girlfriend, which you could put down to just forgetting to update.... but here's kicker- I report to my insurance company that day and they contact his insurance company (same as details he's given me) told by my insurance company they have until 30th to fast track payment as car will be a write off. (as I have already got independant estimate) My car is collected and written off by 27/1/15 given a value of £690 which I accept as told if I dont hire car will be revoked or deemed chargable. but he has either not contacted his insurance company and or just not admitted liability, so no payment and all seems in limbo as my insurance company have contacted his and at stalemate. so I now had a hire car for 3 weeks so guessing about £750 of hire - just worried if he's Missing in Action so to speak I will be stuck with a bill for a hire car and no payout.
  7. Hiya, So worried about a secured loan I have had with Welcome Finance since 2005 for 17k. To cut a long story short this loan was paid on time every month right up until about 2012 when I became very ill and also my salary dropped by 10k per annum due to no longer receiving a bonus at work. slowly since then I have got into arrears etc and bearing in mind these details my current balance is around 19k. They are such rip offs. in between all this I have suffered severe depression which they have only made worse through phone calls etc. They will not stop the interest at all, I have literally begged them. I'm now off sick again and receiving 50% pay for the next few months as I've just had a major back operation. What I'm asking is what can I do to stop them piling the interest on, Take my home etc? I really cant cope with this worry all the time. I have a slightly larger loan with Idem from the same period and they are great, They have permanently stopped the interest and take whatever I offer them each month. This is also secured. Can anyone answer my questions at all? All help appreciated.
  8. I am a widow on a small state/serps pension with some pensions savings credit. I was getting £1.80 in pensions guarantee credit which gave me full council tax benefit. Due to the state pension increase I no longer qualify for the guarantee credit. Basically, I now have to pay £70 a month towards my council tax where before it was all paid. The council sent me a revised bill and set out the money due each month. Job done. The following month they asked me to confirm in writing I had no private pensions and wanted to see two month's bank statements. I took them to the coucil office. Job done. Now, after scrutinising my bank statements they have asked me to explain what two large payments were for January and February into my bank account. Basically they were two sums of money my son gave me to pay for my car to be repaired and some debts. (I still have a mortgage). He is kindly putting money into my bank to help me out a bit. He has his own place, pays his own council tax and has just got married but he is able to help me out as he does not want me to sell my house. I feel the council think my son is living at home and paying rent etc. (which he is not - he pays his own council tax where he lives) and feel a little victimised by them. Further is my son allowed to continue paying me money when he wants (this is not guaranteed like a pension or anything and he may not be able to continue)? The DWP obviously told them of my different financial circumstances in April when the pensions changed, the council issued me with a revised payment schedule now all this - why?
  9. So I had an email from Experian earlier tonight (I have their Credit Expert thingie), and I have just found out that I have a CCJ against me from the start of December, which must have been issued to my old address... So, let me explain. I have a total of around £27k of debts, £25k from old credit cards (Egg/Barclaycard and Co-operative Bank), 1K taxman and 1K lloyds "overdraft" (Who i continue to bank with as a current account only). The cards are all from around 3-4 years ago. All in my name, all caused by My Ex. - However I do realise i am liable for these debts. Anyhow, When I moved out, all were advised by telephone of my new address/info, and i indeed have demands from previous collection companies (for the two cards anyhow) to this address. However it seems like the court documents sent to my old address, and I was completely unaware of this until now. Now i find i have a CCJ and i dont know what i can do. I live on my own, and whilst i get a decent salary, the CSA also deduct lots of money at source for my children (Around 35% of my salary), so I have very little money to live on. I have possessions in the house that i REALLY don't want to loose (having been divorced once, with another pending, I have had to rebuild from scratch twice with the help from money lent to me by my great parents). I live in fear of the bailiffs coming around and taking what I have. It also seems that as part of the CCJ, the amount owing on this one card (previously £13k) has now jumped to £18k.... Seems to have happened just before the court case i wasnt aware of..... I dont know what to do, or where to go to get this sorted out - All i know is that i'll hapilly pay what i can, however because of the size of the debt i doubt it will be enough. I stuck my head in the sand as all I was getting was harassing post and phone calls DAILY to both my home and work numbers I cant sleep since finding all this out, hence my posting at 2:15am I'm so scared Please could someone advise me what i can do Thanks Paul

    Sick with worry

HI! New to this but desperately need some advice.I made a single persons child tax credit claim in december 2011 and have been receiving them ever since. I received a letter from compliance telling me thatthe details for money earned didnt match to their information.Frantically looking for pay slips I agreed it didnt. I had put in my salary not the final pay at end of year. I then checked and have done the same thing for the previous year. I called them and they said they would amend and send out amended amount presumably with me owing them. I am in a state of panic will I have to just pay back what I owe.will I be penalised or worse be prosecuted.there is only me and my two kids so no family for advise and support and am petrified that I will lose my job.
  11. Hi Guys Been a while since I have been on here and I currently have an outstanding loan with CFO which is capital 750 and interest around 270, so totals 1020. I have already been in a loop of paying off and taking it back out again, or rolling over interest - stupidly, I know. I have been scouring the net and indeed this forum for any hint of people getting success with a repayment plan for CFO - is this even possible?? I can afford to split the entire balance into 4 months, I can't afford to make it any shorter term than that. I am considering cancelling the CPA and advising my bank and then telling CFO. Also telling bank that my details are compromised and will ensure they do not allow CFO to take money from my bank. In anyones experience do you think CFO would accept this form of repayment plan - I know some people struggle and have to offer only token payments, so hoping there is a glimmer of hope that this is not going to completely destroy my life. Thanks
  12. Hi, I have a loan of approx £1300 next week due to repaid to quickquid. I just cannot afford to continue to repay interest on the loan so I am going to stop now. I am so worried that they will contact my workplace and demand money, I am going to email them with a very acceptable repayment plan which I hope they will agree to. Has anyone have experience dealing with this company? I fear the worse being honest. I will get my wages to be paid into another account so I should be okay but I just want to get an agreement with them and get on with my life.
  13. Hi everyone, i have received a letter from ruthbridge yesterday asking me to contact them, so i contacted them not thinking much of it, it turns out they are asking for payment for a 6,000 loan from when i was young and stupid! which i made my last payment may 2007 but i have not made a payment since as i was not in a good place to at this point and nobody has contacted me until yesterday. apart from this i have no debts and was agreed a good morgage back in march of this year which i thought was the start of a whole new life. please can someone advise me of the best thing to do next? i have also check my credit report, experian show that my report was good 900+ with this debt not showing then i looked at checkmyfile which show it and the report was not as good.
  14. Hi I hope someone could offer a bit of help. I had an old back credit card debt that is about 12 months from being statue barred. Its for just under 2k. Many years ago I send a CCA request to the OC bank and never received a CCA so placed the account in dispute. This account got passed around several DCA working on the OC behalf, each one I seen off telling them that the account was in dispute. One DCA even confirmed that the original credit agreement never existed. No here is where my trouble starts the account was sold about 3 months ago to 1st Credit, I never responded to any of there requests, this account then got passed onto caughnuts who I think are the same company as 1st credit, I too ignored these. But today I got a letter stating that the account was being passed to Moon Beever, I’m not sure who these people are. All I can find on the web is the deal with insolvency. Does anyone know this company and anyone any ideas how I can deal with this? Many thanks
  15. I have a loan with QuickQuid for £625 which is due to come out of my account on 1.6.12. I have rolled it over once but really just want to pay it off now, which I can't do without a payment plan. I went on live chat with them last night and they only offered me a 3 month payment plan which I can't afford. My worry is - if they try and take the money on 1.6.12 there won't be enough in my account - will they just take what i have got in there?? I've read on here that the best thing to do to get a longer repayment plan is to default and then set one up with them. Help please!
