  1. Probably a stupid question but am just about to sit down with reams and reams of paperwork and start a claim for PPI on 2 credit cards. My question is, which spreadsheet should I use for the 8% interest - single or compound?
  2. Hi. Want to post a review on a bathroom makeover I've had done but am unsure as to which forum to post it in. Can someone help please?
  3. As title, just got SAR info back from Argos and not sure which spreadsheet to use, assuming interest at 29.9% is a bit bloody steep
  4. :|Hello all, Im new to this forum, so am hopig im putting this in the correct place and really hope somebody out there can help me! I have Fibromyalgia and have been recieving DLA at high rate for both mobility and care since year and half ago. I was recieving ESA cont in the WRAG group, based but this ran out in april under the 365 day ruling. i was not entitled to income based as my partner worked more that 24 hours a weekAT the moment i am now waiting to hear back from JCP as i had to put in a change of circumtances letter as my health had deterioted alot so was hoping to be put into the support group. we are also now recieving £55 per week rent allowance and £10.25 council tax allowance plus £14 working tax credit. He was recieving £340 per week before tax (£280 net) Now things were running smoothly (tight but copable) until my partners boss announced yesterday that he was going to have to cut my partners hours to 3 days a week which takes him down to 24 hours and roughly £170 net wages. My question is would we be entiltled to income based ESA ( because hours are 24 and wages lower ) or is he still working to much and earning to much? would we be entitled to more WFTC , council tax and rent benifit, carers allowance etc . I have been on various benifit sights and they all seem to work out different , or it misses a benefit out etc . Please help somebody, im really really panicing now as on top of all this my partners ex wife has decided to go through CSA for the child maintenance (of which we were already paying £50 per week to her direct) . Thankyou in advance Tina x
  5. Hi everybody. I have a toughie to crack (and it’s a bit long winded). I have been dismissed by my company for repeatedly complaining about their (very questionable and in some cases very illegal) internal policies. I complained about that too and have been told that as I am in fact a “contractor” and as they are registered off shore (Caribbean) I have no right to do anything. The company is registered offshore for tax purposes, operates worldwide (as did I), but has its operating headquarters in the UK – the CEO, finance, logistics, business development etc. are all based in the UK on a full time basis and all work as employees of the company. I have looked into this with a learned fellow (who for personal reasons can’t help me anymore), and have found that due to many factors I am in fact an employee and I am entitled to complain. However I am unclear on a couple or three things which are: My original “contract” was for a four month period and has never been renewed since 2007 – I have had no contract of any sort since late 2007. Does anyone have any notion as to how this would affect any case against my former employer? The company state that all staff work under a disciplinary code (verbal warning/written warning/dismissal) – this was completely ignored to dismiss me. I am looking into instigating an employment tribunal based on the above (and a whooole lot more), but would very much appreciate any insight?
  6. I have had advice from Cab and shelter regarding deposit - When I moved in to a private rental I paid the first and last months rent. (Wasn't the reason for my call to shelter) But shelter asked about the deposit. Shelter advised me the landlord can't do this as any money held for the duration of the lease is classed as a deposit and must be protected as such. Needed further advice so went to local citizens advie who told me the landlord can do either first and last months rent or take a deposit. Who is right? I don't want to call shelter back, I'm not on the verge of homelessness and feel bad tying up the phone lines for someone more in need of their help than me. Thanks in advance for any help.
  7. Hi, Thank you for accepting my application. I think this will shock many but not all and I hope to hear some honest and impartial advice. I purchased a property in 2007 in Bulgaria but everything is in UK law, contracts, solicitor and accounts. It was a staged payment process with each stage requiring a build before paying for it. In my Memorandum of Sale I paid for a UK solicitor fees and was contacted by a UK solicitor. Even though in hindsight I now see where on a couple of well worded occasions they point out that they are the developers solicitor they still gave advice, carried out instructions such as a notary, informed what I needed to do, took receipt of paperwork they sent out to me and ultimately said what I would receive from them. A separate argument is if I was they client, they say I am not as no business t&c so they have no duty of care to me. (or 68 others that thought they were acting for us as well) At no time ever did they request the independent solicitor details of the buyer as verbally said they would be dealing with it all and after all we had paid them to convey. Where the bones of this case I feel fall is that they made misrepresentations that are untrue and were misleading in a contract and in paperwork they sent out. Where this may be regarded as opinion it was in an area they state to be experts in and induced me into a contract. Silence also played a part as they wilfully allowed further stage payments to be made knowing that the first critical stage ie title deed transfer. had not even happened. The solicitor wrote the contract, sent out the contract, accepted the contract and exchanged and signed it on the developers behalf. The solicitor is fairly large yet refuses, can not produce any evidence to show planning permits, planning permission or any other reports of due diligence exist prior to making statements and clauses in contracts that are proven to be untrue and misleading to a lot of people. Has anyone experience of suing a solicitor that for this argument is not the solicitor of the person suing them? Has anyone come across some case similar? A person who as not represented and that solicitor knew that and is the same for a lot more buyers rather then stupidity and greed or thinking you know better. I believe I hit the points of fraud by misrepresentation, learned falsity by the silence over 4 year. The developer is being investigated for fraud over its several projects but in Administration. From hotels - crops - landbanking, you can guess who wrote the contracts yet excepts no responsibility to any of the 100s of now creditors. I look forward to your comments.
  8. I thought I recently read on the site that there is now a credit report available that shows information from all the main CRA's is this correct.
  9. Hey I received an offer today from HSBC which i am happy with. The offer refers to 2 loans which were settled in 2005 and 2008. I however defaulted on a seperate loan in 2010 and the majority of the balance remains outstanding. They have stated the monies will be used to pay off some of the outstanding debt. Can they do this? After all the PPI reclaim relates to a closed account? The account still outstanding remains with HSBC though i have had a third party DCA write to me. Any advice is appreciated
  10. From my understanding there are hundreds of thousands of people that have set-up Bare Trust accounts for children. I'd like to set one up (with internet access) for my nephew. However, whenever I ring up any Building Society, none of the customer service staff have the foggiest idea what I'm talking about and different staff at the same Building Society give contradictory advice. Everybody I've spoken to says they can't be set-up. Which building societies allow Bare Trust accounts to be set-up please? What is the process of setting up a Bare Trust account? I'm happy to open with any of the following: Coventry Building Society West Bromwich Building Society Principality Building Society Newcastle Building Society Nottingham Building Society Progressive Building Society National Counties Building Society Manchester Building Society Cambridge Building Society Furness Building Society Saffron Building Society Leek United Building Society Monmouthshire Building Society Newbury Building Society Hinckley & Rugby Building Society Darlington Building Society Ipswich Building Society Market Harborough Building Society Melton Mowbray Building Society Marsden Building Society Thanks.
