  2. Did anyone see this programme last night ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b06nzl76/hughs-war-on-waste-episode-1 It was really good and I was shocked to see the unnecessary waste not just by households but by Supermarkets and Fast Food Chains. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has a blog where he encourages us to help force Supermarkets to reduce the waste. https://wastenotuk.com/ He interviewed a Parsnip farmer and was astonished to see how many of these were rejected because they were "cosmetically challenged" . Apparently the Farmer had a contract with Morrisons

  4. Can you believe it. A 93 year old war veteran targeted. 23,000 Pounds taken in a few hours. Video of this crime. The victim was withdrawing money when he was distracted by one of the men while another obtains the victim's PIN number and switches his bank card. It was only when he tried to use his card again a few days after the theft he realised the cards had been changed. Officers said that within a few hours of the theft, which took place on December 14 just before 3pm, the men had withdrawn £23,000 from the victim's account. 5. Two Polish war veterans who helped drive Nazi forces out of Poland during World War 2 have been reunited at Veterans UK’s Ilford Park Polish Home. Andrew Borowiec and Ted Stopczynski were teenagers when they fought together in Warsaw as part of the Polish resistance movement opposing the Nazi occupation. After the war, both settled in the UK after Poland fell to the Soviet Union and had no knowledge of each other’s whereabouts for over 70 years. But by co-incidence, both recently became residents of IPPH, run by Veterans UK, and were reunited. READ MORE HERE: https://www.gov.uk/
  6. Do you think it is possible for there to be a civil war in parts of the U.S. within say the next 20 years ? It would seem that multiple shootings are taking place on a regular basis, with 9 people killed in a Church in the latest episode. Then we have regular occurrences of white Police Officers killing black suspects, with some riots happening as a consequence. It would not take much for this to escalate into mini civil wars in some parts of the U.S, with the National Guard brought in to assist Police. If you could imagine the 2011 UK riots with the addition of widespread ownersh

  8. Hi, Bit of a long shot here. One of my neighbours was taken quite ill the other day and it doesn't look good. He will (hopefully) be 95 this year. He is very secretive about his time in the second World War but I have been informed he was at the Normandy Landings. Does anyone know how to find out what regiment he was in and his service record. Should he die, I would like to organise a military escort or something similar. Thanks in advance.
  9. I sent this to Forces War Records: "Forces War record" "Thanks for taking money from my credit card without Authorization. The original “come-on” was “download forces war record for 99p” After 10 days you would lose database access, if not renewed. I did not agree to any TERMS to continue. By default a profile was set up which included “auto renew my subscription” box. By default this box was ticked. Cash sums were illegally removed from my credit card. I feel that I must warn other people of this [problem], especially Old Age Pensio
  10. The French have torpedoed a ‘war games’ which took a year to set up. The Royal Marines have been forced to cancel their biggest amphibious landing for more than a decade after their so called French allies pulled out. The Navy had spent £1 million in fuel getting to the Red Sea when the operation was called off-and it cost another £1 million to reach the Gulf of Oman, where a new exercise was hastily arranged for the Marines. More than 1,500 commandos had been in training to storm the shoreline of Djibouti-with 500 French ‘Troupes de Marine to back them up. Navy sources said the de

  12. Ok so its been a while since I did this with a bank account but I hoping its done the same way. Firstly I am going to request an SAR so I have everything in front of me. Do they have 40 to reply? I can't remember. I know I have to send £10 to cover costs. I have found a decent template too.
  13. Francesca Martinez, who has cerebal palsy and often describes herself as ‘wobbly’. 16. The following link is to an article in the Sunday Express. As you will see Eric Pickles is wanting to "revive Britian's High Street" and he is very concerned that a recent survey revealed that "7 in 10 people intentionally avoided shopping areas with extortionate parking prices". Finally....somebody is waking up! However.......far too late!!! He needs to start asking serious questions about the introduction of Section 54 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 and this awful part of the Act will KILL THE HIGH STREET and force shoppers to use the internet for their purchases
  17. Eric Pickles and his "war on rip-off parking charges" The following link is to an article in the Sunday Express. Although this concerns local authority parking tickets, it is very relevant because shoppers are keeping away from out of town retails parks becuse of the private parking companies. 18. Hey all, I took out a loan with tff over 14 months ago and was using the roll over option until i started suffering with health problems 11 months ago and it went out of my head. I did not hear a peep until august this year where i received a email from ndr stating that the debt had risen to £1200 the next day i received a email from marshall hoares stating that they now legally owned the debt and to repay now. I argued stating that i received no communications from ndr until near a year later who charged £350.00p to take the case on yet did not bother to contact me and try to resol
  19. Mortgage rates for the equity-rich are on a race to the bottom, with NatWest trumping HSBC's 2.99pc five year rate with a 2.95pc product. NatWest has set a new record for the lowest-ever five year fixed mortgage, indicating a 'race to the bottom' amongst lenders competing for desirable customers. The bank, which is part of Royal Bank of Scotland, trumped HSBC's record 2.99pc rate with a 2.95pc product. "We are really seeing a mini price war" said mortgage broker Stuart Gregory, who indicated that other lenders may also launch new rates in the coming weeks. HSBC announced its new five-year
