  1. my grnaddaughter was to do work experiace at a doctors surgery but her placement there was refused by her school becuse she is white and they had decided that all such placements would only be available to black pupils. Now the law states that you cant discriminate against any ethnic group but then there is a get out that syas if a particular characteristic or group is under represented you can discriminate. As she wants to be a doctor and has the brains to pass her exams this placement would have been ideal and necessary to get into med school (try applying without such experience and so
  2. Are PCNs subject to the 6 years (england) statute barred law anyone know?
  3. Hi all, need a little help. Way back in 2004 my wife needed a car for work, as our credit wasn't great at the time we ended up going with a company called First Response finance. The interest was horrendous but it was all we could get so we went with it. As far as I can remember we missed a couple of payment but caught them up over the agreement term (48 months) 8 years ago my wife was promoted and received a company car so she gave her old car to my son. She was made redundant 2 months ago but was offered a better job with a rival company but had to have her own car.
  4. Hi everyone, hoping to find some urgent last minute help in this wonderful community ------------------------ Hello everyone, Only just joined the community, but have been carefully following few threads to help with my personnal situation. So far it has been a priceless source of information and I hope to seek further help! I have my court hearing this coming Tuesday at 10am - here is a timeline of events: - Vanquis Agreement dated 05/08/2010 - Last payment made to Vanquis on 30/12/2011 - Notice of debt received by email from BW Legal/Lowell on 13/
  5. I am writing this on behalf of someone else. Where i use the words me i or us means the person involved. Not me. I was employed as a mobile with a well known security company. My main job was to respond to alarms and deal with them. When i started my job off i was told that i was on a gauranteed 24 hour contract (weekly). I was not given any paperwork apart from some paperwork to show how and what i should be doing. I was told be my manager that i would recieve my contract in the post during the next 4-6 weeks. I also emailed my manager and he confirmed that i h
  6. What are the consequences for stealing from someone's on-line bank while resetting their password via the mail. the amount was 1400£. Will they be looking at jail?
  7. Hi guys I will try to simply this A letter was sent to DVLA to try get unclaimed tax fine squashed. DVLA sent 3 letters to an address I've never been known at and my license was never registered at that address. No response means my license was revoked. After filling in a D1 and M1 forms and sending them off, they wrote to my doctor found out I had used diazepam illicitly for three weeks, I've never had a drug or alcohol I didn't even realise the word illicit existed. They are saying that I will not get my license back for a year, not only did they mess the
  8. Hello. I am just about to edit a Subject Access Request to a company for my friend who has had a relatively long running dispute over the amount they charged him for work they did. Other than requesting copies of any and all letters between them and any internal memos or emails that he is mentioned in, is there anything else that you would recommend I include? Thank you.
  9. my doctor will be sent a form from the DVLA to fill in re my medical fitness to drive. In the past 3, 4 or 5 months my mental health has been excellent no problems. BUT earlier this year like 7 months ago I (voluntarily) admitted myself to a psychiatric ward and was there for 3 weeks. I know the doctor will have a question to answer along the lines of "has the person been admitted to a hospital in the past 12 months for psychiatric treatement?" Does this mean I won't be allowed to drive until a year has passed since my admission date, even though I have been fine in recent mo
  10. I need some help urgently as I'm really on the verge of a breakdown with this. Until Sept I had a near perfect credit record and then as I was looking to take advantage of a renewing a few 0% credit card deals I started to be rejected. It soon became clear that I had a default for £4,600 on my credit file. I enquired with the company concerned and it relates to a property that I owned and had to take possession of in April 2013. It's a long story but it was derelict after it was abandoned by a previous long term tenant. Because I could not get insurance I sold it within 3
  11. Hi, This morning I had a very important meeting that I could not miss and went to park in my usual car park. Unfortunately it was full, this has never been the case before, but I sucked it up and used the larger car park across the road where the minimum stay is 4 hours and they charge £2.50, this is why I never use it. This car park is never more than half full, but was full today. Obviously something local was going on as this has never happened in all the years I have been parking. After driving around for 10 minutes and no space appearing I saw a space that was no
  12. Hi, Please can someone look over this default and let me know if it is enforceable? From the previous S78 I believe the debt to be unenforceable, it's from 2014 but I haven't been in contact with the DCA and other than the default on my CRA there's been no correspondence since. I recently sent a SAR to cap 1 just to test the waters and see what came up, so my questions are is the default notice ok and also - on my transaction I "only" missed 2 payments before it was issued, does that make a different at all or is the rule surrounding timings only for issuing the default notice?
  13. Is this yellow box junction legal just received a fine for this. Video: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=pQjVf61e2hA

  15. A review of past fees and charges, and you are entitled to a refund. The amount is about a few hundred. I believe my relative had a massively unfair relationship with them. Curious if anyone else has got this letter recently and what it means...annd what you've done about it.
  16. Hi I'm a little frustrated to say the least.. ..I've just made a drop off in a street in Newcastle upon Tyne (1.00am) - I noticed when I entered the side road that it was 2 way traffic but had calming area at the entrance/exit for one vehicle only to pass. It had 2 huge black and white "Sharp Deviation" or "Chevron" road signs on two black poles around 15 feet from the junction. I am pretty sure as this road is a normal road with no tight deviations that the wrong sign has been installed. I would assume when a chevron sign has been used it is informing motorists of dangers
  17. Hi all, looking for a bit of advice if you dont mind - serves me right for trying to help someone! Last November, an acquaintance of mine was literally almost destitute. No job, no car and on the verge of eviction because of late payments by DWP towards his rent. He was offered a job but needed a car. I had a spare car so I loaned it to him while he got back on his feet and offered to sell it to him at a later date for £200 - car is worth about a grand. It was too late to stop the eviction but everything else worked out ok for him and subsequently he moved around my ar
  18. The parking around here is all private property, and we all have permission to park here for free. There has been lots of works going on recently due to the bad quality of the buildings, so they've used cherry pickers to inspect the works, especially due to lack of fire protection. Today they needed to get into a bay that a van was parked in, in order to put a cherry picker there. They've used a loader and loaded the van onto a flat bed to move it away. And literally right now, I can see them getting ready to load another one. There is no prior notice to them needing access to

  20. I have been with metro bank for a while now. Apart from printing cards and cheque books in store (Branch). They are not really any different from other banks. they charge the same and will not listen to any complaints you have etc. they will even deny fraudulent transactions on your account without a good excuse. I will be terminating my account with them soon.

  22. I have been in writing to Drydensfairfax Solicitors back in March 2016. They are acting on behalf of their client Max Recovery Limited who purchased a debt. I had previously asked them for a credit agreement and copy of the deed of assignment. Back in March 2016, they wrote to me in reply. They provided me with a basic office copy of a credit agreement. They claimed that their client, Max Recovery, had provided them with a copy deed of assignment, and that they had attached this to the document for my perusal. Upon checking the documentation, this assignment was n
  23. I'm posting for a friend so here's the details. I hope some light can be shed on this. She's worked in the same residential care setting for over 25 years. It was announced that the staff will no longer be getting enhancements for certain shifts that qualified them for this extra money. In her case this is a loss of over £3000 a year. Can they do this with no negotiation at all? Thanks for your help.
