  1. I have been served with a County Court Claim from the above for a payday loan from 1st Stop for 250.00. When this was due to be paid the amount also included an extra 87.50 for rolling over. I could not at the time afford to pay this ad subsequently ended up putting this into a debt management along with other debts. 1st stop received their share after 3 months that I had to wait while the DM was set up. After some 5 months of paying into a DM I realised that interest/charges were not been frozen and that most of the companies had not agreed to my DM plan so I cancelled by DMP and one by one as the creditors have contact me I have made new arrangements and got charges/interest frozen. I emailed 1st Stop to offer them the same as they were getting on my DMP and ever heard anything from them and now some3 months later I receive a Court Claim for 402.00 plus 35.00 Court Fee. I intend to challenge this along the lines of amount owed plus 1 months interest less previously paid when in DMP. I have read many postings on this site and it appears to me that they are going to use the Court as a form of debt collecting. I have to counterclaim by the 10th October so any advise you can give would be appreciated as I really have no clue what to do after counterclaim has been done.
  2. hi can someone point me to the letter to stop them, payday loans, harrassing at work please? thank you
  3. Hello, I'm in a really difficult situation. I am currently on benefits, I have a child and I have to go back to Italy for a while (personal reasons), I don't know if I will stay there permanently, but when I arrive, I won't have any financial resources straight away. I will have to find a job, etc. and with a young child is not going to be easy. I am thinking about not notifying the dwp, hmrc and housing benefit/ctax benfit of my leaving the country, so I have some means to start with. If I don't do it, I won't be able to survive. I know is not I nice thing to do, I am a honest person, but circumstances are forcing me, it is necessary. It would be only for the first two or three months, but I'm afraid I could be caught, brought back to the UK and put in prison. How likely is that to happen? Thanks in advance. A desperate mother.
  4. I have a loan with 1st Stop and I had it in a debt management along with some others but decided that I was sick of paying someone a percentage to pay my debts so I cancelled it. One by one, creditors have contacted me and I have resumed paying them what they were getting in my dm plan. 1st Stop emailed me and I responded with the same answers as I gave the other creditors and made them the same offer but they have not replied, nor have I received anything through the post. I have now received a CC Summons for £450.00. Do you think I should contest this down to what I originally borrowed plus one months interest?
  5. Hello Everyone, My 18 years old is starting full time college next week. I had no warning from the child benefit or the child tax credit the payments has stopped can someone please give me telephone number that don't start with the 0845 as it's impossible to contact them on the main 0845 number they just cut you off. Usually I get a letter to tell me if my child will still be in full time education this year I had nothing. If anyone has a telephone number for the child benefit line that I can get through I would be most grateful. Thanks very much helen
  6. Hello, Fellow Santander greed sufferers please, please sign the petition on Change.org and send it on to others. Let's at least try for change. http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/santander-stop-charging-an-astronomical-25-every-time-a-direct-debit-is-refused?share_id=aOHDCSQpkh&utm_campaign=petition_creator_email&utm_medium=email&utm_source=share_petition
  7. Help / advice urgently needed please. My situation is this. I moved overseas some years ago with a partner who left me shortly afterwards. Unable to speak the language, get work etc over there, I put the house on the market and returned to the UK (2010). I claimed Income Support as a lone parent and declared the house so that everything was above board. I had to provide the sale doicuments to prove that i was actively trying to dispose of the property, and intended to remain in the UK. All was ok until this week when the benefits seem to be doing a complete overhaul of everyone I have had 3 forms to fill in this last 4 weeks, all with only a week deadline so no time to seek advice or help. All about the property. I again sent off the original documents that prove the house was placed on the market. The property was placed for sale at less than the value at that time, and later reduced again within that year. The DSS now want a new valuation, current documents to prove the house is still for sale and more evidence that i am trying to dispose of it. and all in english!! I am gutted... English documents from overseas are not going to happen, and i cannot afford a translator. Also i cannot afford to go to the property to do any maintenance, legal work etc.. I can do some online with the agent, but am worried now. Property is not selling anywhere, not here in the UK or overseas. The DSS are threatening to stop my Income Support if they do not approve my benefit to continue. this would mean my housing benefit would also stop. I have 3 young children (one of whom is disabled) and I am worried sick. I have done everything by the book, and yet i feel hounded to the point of illness. My children have had very little time with me over the last 4 weeks because i have been spending hours filling in one form after another and struggling with my own health problems on top. Any help or advice is appreciated please.
  8. Here are a few things that have helped me in my battle with Nicotine. There is a lot of help out there from the NHS etc, but I feel everyone who wants to stop should read Allan Carr's very good book 'The easy way to stop smoking'. To start with here is a run down of what happens to your body after you stop smoking, it's a sort of check list as time goes by and helps keep you on track :- I found it helpful to print it out and leave copies where I could easily see them, by the computer, fridge etc...... Within 20 minutes - Blood pressure and pulse rate start to return to normal Within 8 Hours - Nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in blood reduce by half. Oxygen levels return to normal. Within 24 Hours - Carbon monoxide will be eliminated from the body. Lungs start to clear out mucus and other smoking debris. You won't believe the gunge that comes up at first as your body begins to re-grow cilia, the tiny hairs that line your airways and help push up impurities from your lungs - your smoking destroyed these. Within 48 Hours - There is no nicotine left in the body. Ability to taste and smell is greatly improved Within 72 Hours - Breathing becomes easier. Bronchial tubes begin to relax and energy levels increase Within 2-12 weeks - Circulation rapidly improves Within 3-9 months - Coughs, wheezing and breathing problems improve as lung functions are increased by up to 10%. Personally, my smokers cough actually disappeared after 4-5 days! Within 5 years - Risk of heart attack falls to about half that of a smoker Within 10 years - Risk of lung cancer falls to about half that of a smoker. Risk of heart attack falls to the same as someone who has never smoked
  9. HI, 11 Months ago we were granted a suspended repo order on our house, We paid the arrears every month, But 4 months ago my partners mother had a stroke and she was forced to take unpaid leave to look after her 81 year old father as well as visiting her mother in hospital, I also lost a part time job i had got which was being used to pay off the arrears. The arrears were £3300. The order was due to finish next month (July 25th) But we still owe £900. We explained the situation to the mortgage company and asked for an extra 3 months to pay, This was refused and a letter came today saying they have applied for a warrant of possesion to the court. What will happen now? At a push we could have the arrears gone on August 25th, So basically 2 months from now. Because we have not kept with the suspended order, Will we be just told to leave? How long will this be? We have 2 young children and are sick with worry we will be made homeless, We tried so hard to stick with the arrangement, But circumstances just got in way, We had nobody to look after my partners father and me losing the part time job also proved a killer. Can anyone give any advice on what will happen please?
