  1. Hello gang Looking for some advice, I received a PCN from Cambridgeshire County Council last Sunday for reason "Parked without payment of the parking charge - Code 11) I had bought a ticket for the period in question but a gust of wind it must have slipped it off the dashboard as I closed my door. I still have my ticket and I was wondering if I have a case to appeal and if there is a template you suggest I could use? I have never appealed before - never actually had a PCN before. It's for £50 but will be reduced to £25 if I pay within 14 days, which is next Sunday. Thanks for your help Jameson Thanks
  2. Hi Elderly relative slipped on food produce on supermarket floor. Very bad fall. Immediately other customers came to help and they called over a store assistant to assist. This assistant then put up one of the yellow "danger slippery surface" signs. Relative had the presence of mind to use telephone to photograph what slipped on and the injury. After a while relative managed to get up/ drive home and then go to the doctor. Its a rural quite old-fashioned GP and they told relative to come back if injury gets worse (ie they were very busy and kind of couldn't deal with this type of complaint) 1 month later the bruising has subsided but the injury is still bad; causing problems. A possible fracture? Needs an x-ray to verify. In the meantime relative had been expecting a call from the local branch to check injury ok - but never received any call. So relative instead wrote to the head office of supermarket and complained. The head office replied quite swiftly advising relative to return to the local branch for compensation: which turned out to be a bunch of flowers and a cheque for a nominal (tiny) value. Given relative is elderly and vulnerable I am of the opinion that the flowers/tiny cheque value is a 'fob off'. Lots of elderly would be very happy with such "gifts". But relative is still in pain and may even have a fracture (can update on this after hospital) so I am wondering if we should write and thank them for the flowers and the cheque - but we are considering making an injury claim against them. Is this how it works? See how they reply to such a letter from relative? Or just go straight to a lawyer to handle this issue?
  3. I am just making an inquiry here. I slipped on a pavement which was wet as it was drizzling and broke my ankle. I did not have on high heels with smooth soles and the street I was walking on was not slippery until I reached the McDonald's on that street and I slipped right outside. Friends keep telling me I should sue but sue who..yes the ground was slippery which I found strange but I don't have a clue what to do about it. Don't want to go through any unnecessary processes...any suggestions? ?
  4. A couple of months back, mother slipped on fluid in an Asda's store at the tills. She didn't get contact details of any witnesses but the one's who did see it were shouting at staff to do something as they all seemed a bit gormless, so it wasn't exactly something that went on unnoticed. She filled an accident form out and has been receiving physio since, she's also been in contact with solicitors. Received letters from Asda's but only confirming my mums complaint. She's documented in a time-line the steps she took after that which included talking on the phone (she didn't record) and Asda's saying everything was being documented and sent to the complaints department. They also took photos of my mother and the floor. They said she'll receive a letter within 28 days which she never received. She has time/dates of letter sent and phone calls made. Now here's the reason for the thread. There's now no recollection of any slip recorded by Asdas. It will be on CCTV if they haven't destroyed the footage but other than that, mother has doctors notes and times/dates of the slip. They have no recollection of accident forms either. So all she has to go on is the injury she's dealing with and the hope of CCTV I guess. Any advice please? Chris.
