  1. High can anyone help me with this. I took my marea watch into h.samuels to get a new battery. I paid £27 to get it sent off to be cracked open as its a sealed/waterproof watch. This was just over 2 months ago. Earlier today i got a call from h.samuel telling me that it needs a new movement aswell as a new battery and it would cost me £100 not including the cost of the battery. the problem is the watch only cost £50 to begin with and now i'm down £27 with a none working watch. Can they really charge me twice the cost of the watch and can i get back the money i've allready paid. Hoping someone can help, thanks.
  2. I recently bought a pair of earrings from Hsamuel online. And I picked it up from HSamuel in Westfield, Sheperd Bush. First of all, the order came with an unsealed package. I did not think much about it until I went and check online and realised it should have come sealed properly. On hindsight, I should have read the terms and condition properly though I didn't. And I figured since it was not sealed, I should return the earrings! I went back to the store to complain. The sales assistant name Carol said that it only comes sealed if you requested it to be sealed. I am quite sure this is untrue. And the manager Helen, she said that I cannot get a refund because of hygienic reason. Though it was not sealed when I got it in the first place, so for the same hygienic reason, I should not accept the earrings?! The customer services, it was just not up to standards. And the products came unsealed. Please advice what can I do?
  3. My partner purchased my engagement ring for me and within ten days it had bent so bad I had to "rebend" it to get it off my finger! Then all the stones completely fell out!. All I had done was lean down on my hands hovering?. Its an expensive ring and 9crt gold, I was told this was the strongest and this is one of the reasons I chose it. I took the ring back, very very upset only to be told it can be repaired on my insurance. I had lost all confidence in the ring so asked for a refund as I was too scared it would happen again. Cut a long story short this nasty woman said no and that I could pick another ring up to the value of mine and do a straight swap. she failed to tell me I would have to take out further insurance.. an hour after i'd spend trying on new rings and trying to choose one!. The whole time she was looking down her nose at me and never once smiled!. I felt like a criminal!. I found a ring, it was £35 more and £60 for insurance! so I was expected to pay an extra £95! I refused and asked if there was anyway this could be sorted as a goodwill seems as mine had broke within 10 days. Was blatently told NO, resulting in me feeling ever so stupid and having it sent for repair. Once home I called Head Office to complain about my experience only to discover they were just as rude and unhelpful as the sales assistants in the shop. I returned my ring on the 20-04-13, and it is still there now. Head office sent it for a second opinion, only for it to be returned REPAIRED!? now there is no evidence it was even broken. I am constantly battling for my refund. I have had to chase everyday only to get nowhere. Today the manager called to tell me she couldn't get hold of the workshop, she thinks its shut!? To which I let loose for 16 mins only to be told she'll call me tomorrow. . i'm at the end of my tether. I am having to call the shop, then head office, then the shop and so on as no one follows anything up. They are the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I was told they are not legally obliged to refund me anything! Also I am lucky they have repaired it for free! CHEEK! Now as it stands I am awaiting a call tomorrow to say whether it was my fault or a manufacturing problem. I know exactly what they will say, that it is mine and I wont be allowed a refund. I want my money back, I want nothing more to do with them. Its that simple but they don't care. Its costing me a fortune to call them and be on hold for 20 mins at a time just to end the call in tears. I;m so stressed I don't know what im going to do. I have emailed watchdog tonight and have reported them. I cant find any email address for the director. ive been told his name is kevin ryan? Is this even true?? I hope someone can advise me, thank you
  4. Hello! This is my story with H Samuel for almost 3 months. Having bought our marriage rings from H Samuel a few years ago and all was perfect, my husband bought me an anniversary ring in September 12; a half a carat eternity ring. Ordered in store and collected it a few weeks later from a different one, the size was small and went back to get it changed. When we first bought the "small" ring it was on full price, then when we went back to replace it the ring was on special offer. At this time in store I was told that they will put a new order through at the discounted price and refund the balance.. ..i also sent my marriage ring to be resized which costs me £89 and therefore they have refunded the balance on the card paid with for the ring. Got the ring a few days later, the round metal wasn't polished, it was bent a bit and the diamonds hardly sparkle. I didn't wear it and sent it back to their warehouse within my 30 days guarantee . H Samuel confirmed they got the ring and that a refund was made on 17/11. In December I checked the bank statement and no refund. I've been calling H Samuel every week since December. They said the refund was made to a card ending 0000 (non existent) , my card ends with different numbers. I told them that I never got the refund while they keep insisting it was refunded in the store (never went back to the store for a refund) , then on my card, then again in the store.. .the story changes everytime I speak to a customer service' staff member. The banking department was supposed to look into this and let me know where did the refund go but nobody got back to me for weeks. It's frustrating that they cannot chase where the payment went ..why does it take the so long? I really want to take this further as H Samuel complaints dpt are useless..there is noone to talk to that can actually do something. Need to checl the costs incurred just on the telephone costs as their tel number is expensive... Can anyone help?
  5. Hello everyone! I would like some advice please about my current situation. My fiancee purchased my engagement ring (that I chose!) at H Samuel. I wore it for three months and had treated it really carefully. I noticed that one of the stones had fallen out. We went back to the store and it got sent away to their QC department. It came back with an accidental damage verdict and was told that I was liable to get the stone replaced. I was absolutely devastated and spoke to the manager about a refund as I had little confidence in the ring and was really upset that something had happened to it in such a small time frame. This had little efffect so I took my ring to another jeweller to see what their verdict was. To my dismay, they told me that there were a multiple of flaws in the ring - another stone was loose, the ring had evidence of stretching which had in turn weakened it, the claws had no evidence of having been bent so the diamond shouldn't have fallen out and the diamonds were all of different qualities and sizes. Totally gutted by this additional information, I wrote to the head office and asked for a refund as I had no confidence in the ring. I recieved a letter back confirming recept of the ring and was told that they were looking into it. About a week later I received my ring back with a letter saying that as it was accidental damage there was nothing that they would do. They hadn't even had the ring evaluated for the rest of the flaws nor had they rechecked the original problem. In short they had done nothing other than attach a copy of the orignal quality control report. It is a ring that my fiancee paid over £1200 for (in fact he is still paying for it which really upsets me more!) I looked after the ring - in fact was paranoid about it because it is the most expensive piece of jewellery I have ever owned! I have found someone who will appraise my ring and produce a written report so this is my next step. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on my next step - shall I write back to them when I get the report or shall I just proceed with small claims? Has anyone else been in this position? I am so frustrated!!! Thank you in advance
  6. My partner and I looked online for wedding rings and found the ones we wanted (plain silver bands) on the H Samuel website we went into the store to have a look at them. We decided to buy them and we were told the store didn't have any in stock but could get them in a week or so we decided that was fine as this was 8th june and our wedding isn't until 3rd july. When we paid for them we were then told it could be up to 3 weeks! we told them we needed the rings by 29th june staff member said that would be fine and they would ring us to let us know when the rings arrived. Today I start getting worried and cos I'm heavily pregnant and my partner was in town He took the receipt and asked in store if the rings had arrived. They said no and rang up dispatch who told them that they had my partners ring in stock but not mine and wouldn't have any till 6th July!!! Being a man my partner hung around town till 5 30 trying to figure out a way to tell me without me going mental (according to him anyway lol). If I were to ring the customer services tomorrow with all reciept details would I be able to get a refund pretty quick? Now that I need to buy rings again I'm very annoyed. My partner didn't ask for a refund while in the store because he didn't just wanted to get out there he was so angry:-x
