  1. I recently had a towbar fitted to my 3 year old Ford S-max, by a Ford dealer using Ford parts. Two days later I attached my bike carrier to the towbar and the ESP warning light came on, and has been on ever since. Came back from holiday and had a flat battery a week later. Car went to garage with ESP and battery fault and came back with a new battery, and no fix for the ESP, although I know this is reprogrammed as part of the Towbar fitting. Two weeks later and the new battery is flat and the car is back in the garage (so I didn't need a new battery). My question is what are my rights here as there is no proof that the ESP and Battery faults are related to their fitment of the towbar. If and when this is fixed, who should be paying the cost of diagnosing and correcting these problems as the car is now out of warranty? Should this be part of the towbar guarantee? Can I ask them to remove the towbar at their own expense in an attempt to fix this?
