  1. Hi has anyone heard of this company before? I have googled them and found nada which is quite odd. This is in respect of a debt they have purchased from someone else and I have just got a solicitors letter about it, but I have had no contact from Cogent at all and need to get in touch with them. Any ideas? Thanks
  2. Hello hoping someone could give me some advice, I stupidly took out a loan with CFO a few months ago but I lost my job so was unable to repay it, I contacted CFO numerous times on the phone to set up a payment plan but was always refused and was told I need to make payment in full to prevent legal action. Last month CFO offered me there resolve product to wipe off the current interest I have on my account and I thought this would be great that way I can avoid over £100 in charges, but the problem is when I applied there stupid staff put my account number in wrong so my resolve loan amount was sent elsewhere, after waiting 10 working days (ringing them everyday but no-one seemed to no where the money had gone) they finally received the funds back. I was then told I would need to re-apply for the resolve product so I could have the interest removed from my account, I re-applied and now CFO are stating I no longer meet there lending criteria!!! And I'm liable to pay all outstanding charges on my account by my payment date of 31/5/13 I have wrote a email of complaint to them but doubt if that's going to get me far, is there anything I can do about the interest I was told I can have taken off ?
  3. Hello, I have today received a letter from RMA Resolve advising that i owe £42.52 to their client Arrow. I contacted them, they seemed to point to a default in 2009 to a mobile phone company. As far as i know i have no outstanding debt to arrow/rma resolve or any mobile phone company. Should i send a cca to them or should i send a SAR to them, or does anyone have any ideas?? Julian
  4. CAGgers may interested in the latest approach taken by CFO payday loans. The post below shows that they are: Offering to reduce the amount owed to the original amount borrowed. A cynic would suggest that they will then sell the remainder to a third party. Offering a further advance of up to £200, which is, surely, contrary to OFT guidelines, by encouraging an alleged debtor to borrow more. The objective is, of course, to obtain the person's debit card details and empty his/her bank account. BE WARY. Get back on track with CFO Resolve… Apply for CFO Resolve and get a weight off your mind and up to £200 in your account today! Call our friendly Resolve team on 0208XXXXXXX Dear Mug, In an effort to get your loan out of default with CFO Lending we would like to offer you our CFO Resolve product. By taking advantage of this offer we will: 1) Remove all fines and interest currently on your account. 5. I used to be an Ann Summers party organiser. I packed it in over a year ago, sent back the demo kit and all was well... or so I thought. I recently received a ‘FINAL DEMAND’ (in big red letters) from Capital Resolve for a £20 debt to Ann Summers. I have no idea what this is about. I sent back a letter asking for more information on the debt. The other day I received a large postcard with ‘Notification of Home visit’ on it, along with a freephone number which I called. My letter was apparently lost in the post (yeh, right) as I didn’t send it recorded. They still wouldn’t tell me what it’s all about but asked me to e-mail my request. To make things more interesting I’ve moved house and the letters are going to my parents’... I tried using the Noddle thing but I don't have a credit card. What to do next?....
  6. Dear azzadle I am in the same position as you but I havent heard from them since last June when they took £75 [EDIT] from an account I had only had opened for a week. When I took out the loan with them I banked with Barclays this new account was with Lloyds TSB so still dont know how they managed to get the debit card details. When I emailed them on the address that I had done several times before telling them I would be reporting them to the police [EDIT] the email came back as not recognized I havent heard a thing from them since not even from this MT Collect or anyone else that people have mentioned on this site.
  7. I put down a deposit for a flat and paid rent and everything and never received my deposit or other monies owed to me. I tried to get the flatmate to do so multiple times and they set deadlines but never fulfilled them until I had to leave for America and now am still dealing with trying to get the money from them. Is there any legal action I can take? I have proof of the deposit and of some of the money that is owed me, though some was cash in hand :/ Any help? This is doing my head in trying to get them to return my money...
  8. Ive been sent 2 letters from Capquest advising that they "may be passing on my case to their solicitors" and "to contact them to avoid litigation." The debt was originally with Tesco personal finance ( a credit card ) but i was unable to pay it as i lost my job around 4 years ago, they were actually really good and froze the interest for me and took a minimum payment for about 6 months but then got fed up and passed my debt on, I decided not to pay any other company as i thought they did not own the debt and if they did they bought it for a couple of quid, i was also struggling for money. I now have a job and have around £50 spare a month but i am unsure of what to do, should i pay Capquest and try and resolve the debt with them?? I dont want to end up in court!! Ive signed up to the CreditExpert to try and view my credit rating and possibly who owns the dept but im waiting for a pin number to arrive in the post before i can access it. The amount is £2094.17 owed i am unsure of any extra charges or late fees added on as it was 4 years ago. Your help will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
  9. Hello, my first thread, just one of many problems I'm having!! After being with Barclays nearly thirty years, I thought they might have trusted me by now. I have a business account with an overdraft of £2000. A couple of weeks ago I recieved a call from a rude man at Barclays telling me my overdraft expired in Oct '09. I told him that was news to me. He said as my turnover of money through this account had drastically fallen over the last year, it was unlikely my overdraft would be renewed. He then said Barclays would be looking for payment to clear the overdraft. Kick me when I'm down why don't you! I explained that my business had been very quiet for the last year, however, I still pay their quarterly extortion charges. I told him they can't expect me to cough up £2000 just like that. He said if my local business manager will not renew my overdraft, they would have to arrange a resolve loan. Needless to say they wouldn't renew it. I've had nothing in writing from them, but they did leave a message on my voicemail this week asking to discuss this. I didn't ring back. My question is, can I say to them I'll pay £100 - £200 per month until its cleared? Can they refuse this? Can they say this is fine, then put an unreasonable interest rate on the balance? Thanks in advance for any advice.
