1. Hi all I recently signed up to noddle to check my credit report. I noticed that I have a CCJ issued against me on the 15/05/2014. A case number is provided but no company name shows. I would also like to point out that this CCJ is registered with my previous address. I would like assistance or to be guided in the right way to deal with this issue. I didn't know that a CCJ was going to be issued. I moved out of the address it's listed against on the 28/09/2013 so any paper work relating to this would have been sent there and I had no knowledge that a case was to be heard. I can provide proof by a tenancy agreement showing the date that I moved out of that address. Is there anything that I can do to try and resolve this issue? thank you in advance
2. Hi All, Not sure if I have posted in correct place however I need some URGENT advice. I recently received my Credit Report from Experian and Equifax and was quite dismayed to find a default for Orange in the amount of 97.00 pounds. I want to get this removed ASAP as I was unaware that this had happened. I am hoping to start a business in the next couple of months and this will be detrimental if I require funding, business account etc. Could someone please advise the best way to proceed. Thanks in advance.
3. Hello there I wonder if anyone can help with this. I am considering buying a new car in the next month or so, and thought I would check out my noddle report before doing so. I noticed a default on my account in the name of Arvato Financial Solutions LTD T/A Buchanan Clark & Wells. The date of birth is over 20 years out and I don't remember ever having any dealings with this company. I logged it on the noddle site as incorrect today, stating that I don't know what it is. I'm wondering if I should contact this company as well? I have searched for some kind of address for them, but as I don't know what I'm looking for, I cant find anything. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks
4. Hi, I want to get my house in order so need some advice on what to do. Back in late 2007/early 2008 I got an unsecured loan of £2000 from Welcome. At the time it was set out at 25 payments of £199 I made payments for a while until I was out of work paying what I could and when. in late 2008 they renegotiated my loan and setup a new one. These are the details of what they said 61 payments @ £ 85 current Balance £ 3,771 I got a settled mark on my credit file and another loan was setup now showing several months with a 6 mths late mark on each of these , this left me with a bitter taste in my mouth and was stupid to set this up, to cut a long story short I haven't paid a thing because I felt as though i was ripped off, I want to start paying it off but feel that it was underhand what they did at the time. I believe I was sold various PPI's etc which may have esculated the total loan. What should be my first step, I have no paperwork as I buried my head in the sand. Thanks to anyone who can help.
5. This is my first post to assist anyone cancelling their credit report trial or monthly fee with Equifax. I started a 30 day free trial in April with the intention of cancelling before the trial period ended. Due to unexpected personal circumstances I forgot. I started being charged £9.95 per month and cancelled in August. I requested a refund of the latest month's charge and they also offered a refund of £29.95 for the previous charges. I cancelled via their website as I prefer to have a written record of communication. I think they prefer you to cancel by telephone as it's a little tricky to navigate doing it online. However, it does work and I've done it a few times over the years. Login as usual and make a note of your credit report number. At the bottom of the page click on FAQs. It will take you to another page and ask you to log in again (if you have not used this part of their service before I think it will ask you to create a login for it). Then click on 'ask a question'. Click on 'product' and pick an option - I chose 'Equifax credit Report'. Click on 'category' and pick an option - I chose 'I have a question' ('I have a question' is listed 3 times and I picked the 3rd one on the list). I then clicked on 'other'. Enter your credit report reference as requested. Enter your message in the box and submit. It will then bring up some 'auto responses' and ask if they answer your question. Submit your question again so that it is sent to a real person who can respond. If you don't hear back in a couple of days login again and resubmit (this only happened once throughout my communication with them). Be persistent and don't accept anyone telling you no. Here is the transcript of mine and their emails: Me: Please cancel the £9.95 per month charge with immediate effect. Please do not charge me for the amount debiting my account today as I will not be using the service - if you have already debited this from my account then please refund. Thank you for your assistance. Equifax: Thank you for getting in touch about your Equifax subscription. I've reviewed your request for a refund, along with your membership history with Equifax. I can see you signed up online to our Free Credit Report in April 2014. Your first 30 days' access to this product was free but there are monthly charges after this unless the service is cancelled. I've cancelled your product now so you won't be charged again and in light of your comments about how we subscribed you to this product, I've also refunded your previous payments. You'll see this return to your account in the next 5-7 working days. I hope you find this useful. If there’s anything else we can do for you, please let us know. Me: Thank you for your email. Please be advised that I have only received the latest payment of £9.95 refunded. As your email states 'I've also refunded your previous payments' please ensure that the remaining payments are refunded too. Me again: Thank you for your email. Please be advised that I have only received the latest payment of £9.95 refunded. As your email states 'I've also refunded your previous payments' please ensure that the remaining payments are refunded too. Equifax: Thank you for getting in touch. As you were charged £9.95 on the day you cancelled as a good will gesture we refunded you this £9.95. We cannot refund you previous charges as you did not contact us to cancel. I hope you find this useful. If there’s anything else we can do for you, please let us know. Me: Thank you for your email. Please be advised that I have only received the latest payment of £9.95 refunded. As your email states 'I've also refunded your previous payments' please ensure that the remaining payments are refunded too. The original response from Tiffany clearly states that 'previous payments' will be refunded. Therefore, please ensure that the previous payments (plural) not just a singular payment are refunded. Equifax: Your enquiry has been passed to myself for further investigating. I have taken on board your comments and have authorised the refund of 3 months payments. The amount of £29.85 will return to your account in the next 5-7 days. If there’s anything else we can do for you, please let us know.
6. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-29047911 Very worrying !!
7. I might be fixing this, but I'd appreciate some feedback if possible. Background: In August 2008 I entered into a Trust Deed. Because some of the debts were with Abbey National (as was) I had to get myself a new bank for a current account. I went to Nationwide as they appeared to have a good reputation; well there's a new lesson every day I suppose. After a year of struggling along with two basic bank accounts (one was joint with my wife which we used to manage our household bills) and trying to get by using cash and a prepaid debit card only it was time to change and Barclays offered me a debit card with their basic account. After getting all my direct debits changed over I transferred the remaining few pence and asked Nationwide to close the accounts as they now each had balances of £0. Nationwide wrote back refusing to do so saying there were pending charges - two unpaid DDs from the previous month (I think) on each account (charges of £30 a time) which had not yet been applied. I then began the usual process of disputing the validity of the charges using guidance from this site. I even used the tack of asking them how their charges were calculated as they claimed they were based on cost and not punitive - the irony of that was that they sent a letter saying that they were "open and transparent about charges" but wouldn't provide the cost detail as it was "commercially sensitive". Such charges on my new account with Barclays would have been £8. every month during this dispute period Nationwide put a further £30 unauthorised overdraft charge, and interest on to the -ve balance. This dragged on until I gave them an ultimatum and offered them £16 (based on paying the level of Barclays charge for the original two unpaid DDs) without accepting the liability for them. They accepted this and marked my credit file with a partial settlement from March 2011, preceded by over a year of sustained arrears markers. I have recently read the ICO's publication: “Principles for the Reporting of Arrears, Arrangements and Defaults at Credit Reference Agencies” which clearly states that I wrote to Nationwide just the other day to request that they remove the defaults as the balance they showed was indeed only made up of charges and interest on those charges. Is this right?
8. Britain's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) on Thursday published a report into the country's energy markets in which it identifies opaque pricing, the dominance of utilities and an uncompetitive retail market as the main negative factors. The so-called issues statement is part of an investigation into the British energy market, one which the CMA will publish its final report by Dec. 25 2015. http://www.lse.co.uk/FinanceNews.asp?code=lc2pkmug&headline=UK_competition_watchdog_publishes_report_on_energy_market_investigation
9. http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201415/cmselect/cmworpen/302/302.pdf In summary:- 'The flaws in the existing ESA system are so grave that simply “rebranding” the WCA by taking on a new provider will not solve the problems: a fundamental redesign of the ESA end-to-end process is required, including its outcomes, and the descriptors used in the WCA. This will be time-consuming and complex but the redesigned ESA assessment process needs to be in place by the time a completely new contract, involving multiple providers, is tendered in 2018.'
10. I have an unpaid personal unsecured loan from Natwest which was taken out many moons ago. It has now appeared on my credit report as a closed and "settled" account. I haven't paid off the full amount and I haven't agreed as reduced settlement so what could this mean? It is not showing on my report against any DCA.
11. Hi Everyone. The A4E Exit Report (moving on report), the one you get on your last appointment with A4E before being thrown back to the JCP. Does anyone know how many pages there should be ? I received a two page report, but googling some page I didnt bookmark said there was 7 pages, and that we only get two but the full 7 pages are sent to DWP. Ive put in a SAR with the DWP, and they say there is only two pages. So just wanted clarification that there is only two pages and not seven.
12. Dear all, The Friday before last (4/7/2014) I went to make a debit card payment for dinner with clients and the transaction declined. I checked my account on my phone (Barlcays App) and my two barclays personal accounts (current and premier) 4 savings accounts and 2 business accounts were collectively showing to be overdrawn by £5,000,000. On 7/7/2014 all available funds in the account were sent to reconcile to Coventry OPS 05 ADV. I logged a formal complaint on (4/7/2014) and after countless calls to customer service advisors who gave excuses ranging from a technical error to an account review and no resolution I sent an email to senior executive at Barclays. Later that day I was contacted by a member of the Barclays customer relations team at their Head Office in Canary which was on Thursday of last week (10/7/14) however he has not been of much help at all, he has not provided any clarity as to what is going on or any time frames as to when I can expect to have my funds released. I have gained an understanding myself and believe it is a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) that has been filed to the National Crime Agency (NCA) or similar however I have nothing to hide and although its been a good year for business everything is above board and I do not understand why they can't simply ask me for clarity... This freeze on my accounts/blocking of funds is causing serious problems for me and those dependant on me/my business. I was wondering if anyone has experienced a similar situation and if so when the issue was resolved and if there is anything I can do to speed up the process or any other information that might be helpful. It's so frustrating being in the dark and having hard earned money taken away from you with no explanation ! Thanks.
13. The lead adjudicators report makes for interesting reading. The figures show that appeals to POPLA are a very small percentage of ' tickets ' issued. http://www.popla.org.uk/AnnualReport.htm
14. The media still do not tell the truth about what these tickets really are... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2686815/12-fold-surge-parking-ticket-appeals-just-two-years-More-600-drivers-week-contesting-fines-10-000-penalties-quashed.html
15. Hi all, I'm about to prepare to submit a claim to Court in respect of Credit Card charges (over limit and late payment fees) incurred between 2001 and 2006. I have all my statements thanks to a Subject Access Request. NatWest have, obviously, refuted my claim thus far. However I'm particular interested in two paragraphs contained within their last letter to me on 3 July, which reads: "Following the publication of the OFT report in April 2006 Royal Bank of Scotland reduced its default charges to £12. Our charges of £12 are in line with the actual and estimated costs of default and with the general legal principles outlined by the Office of Fair Trading's April 2006 statement. It is under the above ruling that we would only review charges applied within the last 6 years, any charges applied prior to this would fall outside the statute of limitations as advised previously." I had already made reference to to the precedent set between KLEINWORT BENSON -v- LINCOLN CITY COUNCIL under section 32 © of the limitation act 1980 in my previous letter to NatWest. Is it worth following that up now with something to specifically address the two paragraphs above before moving on to Court action? Any suggestions and/or advice would be much appreciated
16. I might well be in the wrong place, but I have to say Consumer Forum Website has been a great help to me, It's been a great aid when trying to work out stuff about ATOS and ESA and even the car. The only problem I have is when posting a new thread, you're limited to 2 tags, so if you're title is rather long, it's quite hard to chose which words to use to get your point accross Apart from that, I don't know how I managed before without Consumer Forum before!!! Three cheers for whoever developed it!!! Thnx4tht
17. Evening, Is it true that letting agencies cannot do a thorough check like a bank and only see CCJ's and other similar marks on your report? Or Do they only look for those? I read somewhere they cannot access the defaults on an account. Looking to rent but have a few defaults. Hopefully I'll find somewhere.
18. Hi . I have an old debt managed by Apex Credit Management which I am looking to settle with a full and final payment offer. Having just checked my credit report with 2 companies - I can find no record of this debt. I presume its over 6 years old. Any suggestions please? Thanks x
19. is here to read. I cannot post summarised link as is on banned site. http://data.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/committeeevidence.svc/evidencedocument/work-and-pensions-committee/employment-and-support-allowance-and-work-capability-assessments/oral/9582.html So it seems was a lot more issues than exposed in the 2 documentaries, notably he agrees with me that they shouldn't be looking at work capability but employability instead. He also had a team which were supposed to implement his changes which got disbanded.
20. Hi Guys First post here, hoping someone can help or point me in the right direction. I've had a voicemail on my home phone everyday for the past few weeks asking me to call ARC. I googled them and found the are a debt recovery company. I then decided to obtain a copy of my credit report from Equifax. I appear to have a default on my credit report from a company called Arrow Global. I can only think that this is for a very old Dorothy Perkins/Santander storecard. The default was for a balance of £440 and was set in 2012. I can't remember the last time I saw a statement for this storecard, or made a payment but it has been a very long time. I have no information about this account at home. Of course, this is my debt and I will clear it but I would like the default removed from my credit report. I've read some reviews re ARC, and the sound horrendous to deal with. Can I go direct to Arrow? I've read on lots of forums 'do not admit to this debt' especially if it's an old one. So is there any way I find out information about this Dorothy Perkins account without admitting to the debt? Is there much chance that if I set up a payment plan that the default will be removed when the balance is closed? I'm finding this all very confusing, and I hope this message makes sense! I appreciate any help or advice. Best, S
21. We've had an intermittent issue with our Fridge Freezer, which now finally seems to have broken down permanently, it's only 3 1/2 years old so we're claiming, something, back from the retailer. To this end we asked an engineer to come out and provide us with an engineers report, however, I'm really not sure what he's provided is adequate, I haven't much confidence in him to be honest, he initially tried to claim that the invoice for his visit was the report, until I asked for something a bit more substantial. His last offering is attached (I've removed the company header) Is this adequate for a SOGA claim?
22. I have finally convinced my husband to check his credit report. He always claimed this is a waste of money as he doesn't have too much movement in there anyway. But part of my campaign of "becoming responsible adults" I have managed to persuade him to have a look yesterday. All good and jolly, only that. ..there was a default note from an online store/catalogue company none of us have ever heard of. Literally, had no idea they existed. The entry is dated early 2012. Apparently the account was opened in 2012 at an address we have relocated from in early 2011. It is for the amount of £150. He has spent today his hour lunch break and more on the phone and online trying to dig out and find out what happened. Apparently someone bought a ring and a golden necklace. this is the email we have put together for the fraud department of this company. "Following my email below (sent to you this afternoon), please find attached copies of letters from the xxx council confirming registration for the electoral roll (dated January 2012), confirmation of voter's registration from the same council (dated January 2012), Assured Short hold Tenancy Agreement (in my wife's name) for the same address, bank statements from xxx bank (dated February-March 2012 and April-May 2012). Should this evidence not suffice or should you need further info, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or on xxx number. All these documents prove irrefutably that I was no longer residing at xxx at the time the account was opened. I also want to make it clear that I am not now or ever have been a customer of STORE at any address and at no time have I given permission to anyone to open such an account in my name. As you can appreciate this default entry made by your company on my credit file has had a very detrimental impact on my credit score - no wonder I had issues while applying for a new mobile phone contract! - and I urge you to remove this entry from my credit report as soon as possible. I will also request that you please provide me with a letter to confirm deletion of this entry and I require a complete investigation into this as a matter of urgency and expect a reply from you at your earliest convenience. Kind regards," Is this ok, would you add anything else/do this differently? Would this be enough to have it removed from the credit report? Thank you for any help!
23. Hi, In my effort of making sense of the mess that is my credit file, I have noticed today that I have 4 closed accounts and one of those appears to be default. I was shocked to see this, as even though I remember having an account with 3 mobile in 2012 I do not remember having any issues with them. It was a 3Gsim card for an iPad which I had to cancel because after a couple of months of taking out the sim I have moved to a basement flat where I had no network coverage at all, therefore continuing paying for the service I didn't get did not make sense. As far as I remember this was a monthly rolling contract of some sort as I do not recall having any issues cancelling it. I remember paying the final balance and that was it. That is why I can't understand the default note on my file coming from them. I have actually called their customer service today and the guy initially said it must be a mistake as I only had one account with them which was closed in 2012 and looked fine. Then he put me on hold for a couple of minutes and came back to me saying that actually yes, the default note on my credit report reflects the way I have managed my account with them?! Apparently I paid the January or February bill in March?! He kept apologising saying there was nothing he could do and that they were happy with having me as a customer and would like to have me back and I should probably take this out with the credit agency (i.e Experian). I said it wasn't just a credit agency but all of them and tried to explain how frustrating this was as I really don't remember being a bad customer at all, once they have called me to claim the balance I have paid and thought no more of it. Did not expect this at all. I do not remember getting any reminders or notices of a default account at all! I have had issues in the past where I was late with an O2 payment for 2-3 months and this shows as a 2 or 4 on my credit report. With them there are lots of OK, then 1, D and SF (tried to post animage but I do not meet the minimum posts requirement ) Default Balance £30 Default Date 20 March 2012 Default Satisfied Date 27 March 2012 Not Reported Account Holder Status Normal Account StatusDefault Reported Until March 2018 From your experience, is this practice normal? Is there anything I can do about it? Any help appreciated!
24. I suffer a neurological condition for many years. I joined my current employer a little over a year ago, a change of job and on less hours, hoping that this would improve my condition (I previously did a 40 hour week). However, it has actually got worse and been diagnosed as a chronic condition. 6 months ago, I had to take 4 weeks off because of this. I had a phased return (but no other adjustments) but the condition quickly returned and I have been off for 3 months. In this time, I have been prescribed different medications which had severe (and known) side effects that also made me unfit for work. The condition is still not under control, but starting to improve having changed the tablets again. My GP told me that I have to be patient, as its trial and error to find something that works without intolerable side effects. My neurologist wants me to have tried the options for at least 3 months before the efficacy can be judged. I think that I would be covered by the DDA, but have not actually got anything in writing. My employers requested a report from my GP in March but he has not done it yet and is now on holiday. I cannot get an appointment to see him for 2 weeks. I have no idea what reasonable adjustments can be put in place, but have arranged to see someone from "Fit for Work" to identify these– again this wont happen for 2 weeks. In the meantime my current Fit Note will run out. I have to see a locum doctor about this as my GP is away. I'm worried about the (probably inevitable) disciplinary process the longer I am away. Should I go back without any support in place, or do I have to wait until my GP has done his report and I have seen the Fit for Work people? Do Reasonable Adjustments have to be proposed by my GP? When I saw him last, he said that there were none that he could suggest, until I had adjusted to medication and got it under control. I fear going straight back to a very fast-paced environment and having a major relapse within days. I have kept my employers informed at every stage, but have had no contact from them, other than an acknowledgement. Understandably they are becoming agitated at the lack of GP report, but this is out of my control. There is no union or other representation in my workplace. I am only in receipt of SSP – my company sick pay ran out several months back. Any advice would be appreciated.
25. Hello, This is my first post so please go easy on me, I applied for a credit report from call credit check, I went through the procedure to get my report but they were unable to verify I am who I say I am so they couldn't supply my report. I checked my bank account a few days later to find they have taken £12.99 out of my account which put me into an unplanned overdraft so I'll get a bank charge no doubt. When I signed up I didn't see anywhere that they would charge me this if I had seen this I would not have attempted it, so my question is can they charge me this fee legally and if not what can I do? The fact they didn't even supply my credit report makes it even worse. I signed up to experian and they let me join and my pin nunber is in the post, all my debt is ten years old with no contact with any of them and living in Scotland if my report has defaults I'm hoping a simple letter will see all defaults removed. Also I'm on mobile phone but accidentally switched to the desktop version of the site, any idea how I can switch back to the mobile site. Thanks in advance
