  1. Hi. The inbuilt CD player in my car became faulty and stopped reading CDs, so I bought a used stock headunit from an Ebay seller to replace it with. My car is a Honda Civic so I had the original unit taken out at my local Honda dealer (the dash had to come apart) and they fitted the Ebay replacement. Unfortunately this is also faulty and won't even load a disc. The Honda dealer confirmed they had fitted correctly. The seller's listing made no mention of any faults and is insisting it was ok when he dispatched it. I spent £94 on the replacement unit and £99 on fitting costs. The question is, do I have any right to ask for him to pay towards labour? He has reluctantly agreed to refund the cost of the CD player.
  2. Thanks in advance for your help guys. So, my iphone 3gs decide to stop working. 2 yrs old took to apple they confirmed it's dead and gave e a print out for the insurance saying as much. I called insurance and they said I had to provide proof of purchase. Here lies the problem. The phone was a gift from an ex no longer in contact (who is) I have the box and Apple verified the imei number is not registered as stolen or been black listed. I have e-mailed an explained that the item was a gift, is there anything I can do to prove i own it? Cheers guy's. I hate insurance!
  3. Does anyone have any information on this company? I ordered a bed form them online a month ago, paid through WorldPay and there has been no sign of it. All their advertised phone numbers are now unobtainable and no-one replies to emails. Not sure what to do next !
  4. Hey guys, I am a new user to this forum and I hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction. I purchased a car on a Hire Purchase loan agreement in 2009 for a total price of £8500 for 24months, i paid £4000 deposit. I kept up with my regular payments until September 2011, until which I was made redundant from work. I contacted the finance company (carlysle finance) and told them of my situation. They decided to make a repayment plan for me and in which i kept up with my payments until January 2012, where i found myself in real financial difficulty, I couldn't pay any more money. I received numerous letters and warnings and in late may they took out a court order and a hearing date for 6th July 2012. I also received a claim form, from the court in which i completed stating my circumstances and my offer of repayment every week and sent back to the court. The total balance i owed the finance company was £1500. I decided to borrow some money off my friends and family and I have now paid £1350, I now have a balance of £150 to pay which I will be paying before the hearing date. My question is if i pay off the total balance remaining and they decide to cancel the hearing, would I still have to or liable to pay court costs?. I am on a low income at the moment and not able to work due to circumstances. Any help or advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
  5. My brother and I are joint executors of my mothers estate. She willed her property to us and we have received probate for the estate. My brother wishes to purchase the property (which has no outstanding mortgage) and we have agreed the sum for purchase. The property deeds are in the possession of my brother. Can he buy the property without having to transfer it into our joint names before transferring it into his name. I am prepared to sign to acknowledge the situation. Do we need to involve a solicitor to effect the conveyancing. Regards Morgansbobi
