  1. News From Credit Strategy The above case shows that PDL firms are still failing. The firm, who is believed to be "Safety Net Credit TA/ Indigo Michael" The FCAs rules have helped but more must be done.
  2. I'm in a little bit of a mess and I'd appreciate some advice, I know I'm an idiot so there's no need to let me know. I owe around £900 + fees/interest to six PayDay loan companies and the repayments are due at the end of the month. I'm in my early twenties, unemployed and a depressed hermit. (If you can't laugh at yourself.. ) Anyway, I lied regarding employment whilst applying for these loans. Thankfully, I only got accepted by six and not the 15+ I applied for. There's literally no chance that I'll be able to repay these loans on time so I'm looking for some advice. What options do I have? I'd ask my parents to help me out (they would) but I just can't. They went through a rough patch a few months ago and everything's great now but asking them for help could possibly send things downhill again. I'm not on benefits (I could probably claim if I wanted to but never will), I do a little online work here and there and make around £100-£200 a month and that's about it. I'd greatly appreciate some advice and will donate generously if I manage to get myself out of this mess.

  5. Good morning all, I toke a pay day loan. Due to some financial issues I was not able to repay it on time and 400£ turned to be now 880£. This debt was sold to the MMF. Anyway I don't wont to avoid this debt and I'm willing to pay this all back but I don't have 880£ and I think the charges they put on this account are not fair. Also when I tried to enter into payment plan with the pay day loan lender they never agreed to my offer and they never supplied me with any statments or letters that I asked for. Please does any one have any ideas? Also as MMF was calling my work employer I reported this to ICO, OFT and FOS. Hence this I recived letter this morning: *************************************************************************** Thank you for your recent letter dated, regarding your account with us. I understand you have decided to revoke your doorstep licence. However you have not provided MMF with an alternative form of contact or made an offer of payments to clear your debt with MMF. Please complete and return enclosed Direct Debit Form. Alternatively, please contact us on 0800 9961103 and quote reference M to arrange a repayment plan for the outstanding balance, or to discuss a settlement. Our collections department is available between 8am and 8pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 6pm Friday and 9am to 2pm Saturday. ***************************************************************************
  6. How do these work exactly. I have a loan with Mobile money but they don't have the log book as they gave me the loan when I first had the car and had sent off for the log book. As I am now in financial difficulties with them, how can they seize the car without the book? Also, could I still sell the car and then pay them back rather than them seizing it and selling it cheap?
  7. I'm just coming to my 8 week deadline for payday loan complaints, and just had a response from Payday Express and Payday UK. They have refused the complaint stating that firstly its older than 6 years and secondly its been longer than 3 years for me to realise there was a problem. Payday Express I had 2 loans 8.5.2009 £400 and 26.11.2009 £100, I then continued to rollover until January 2011. At that point I defaulted and started paying via a DMP. For £500 I have so far paid £2,472.07 and still owe £335.27. Payday UK I was loaning from these from 2008, but my last loans were 30.6.09 £350 26.2.2010 and 29.9.10 inbetween these dates I was rolling over and paying interest until again January 2011 when I defaulted. In total I borrowed £1,050 and I have paid back £2,642.39 and still have £195.11 outstanding. My question is is their refusal valid? they state that the ombudsman will not deal with this complaint. regards Joan
  8. Afternoon all, I'll get straight to the point... one of the payday 'giants' has been unfairly processing my data for the last 3 years now and are unwilling to change their position. Hence, I am considering taking them to court. Here's what happened: - Payday loan taken out in 2013 - Couldn't afford it (like most), half of the sum due was taken out of my bank account, leaving the other half due - Been down the irresponsible lending and unaffordable complaint routes, both failed with FOS - The lender has never bothered to default the account, it is still in limbo today - Having checked my credit file, the lender has reported the account 'late payment' for the last 3 years I have contacted the ICO for some clarification regarding credit reporting, and I was advised that the 'late payment' marker should only be used for a maximum of 6 months, after which time the lender should either default or discharge the account. Keeping the account open in this current status is unfairly prolonging the length of time the entry will stay on file. With such accounts, unless defaulted accordingly, they could stay on file indefinitely, much like a credit card or current account. This is clearly a breach of ICO guidelines and the DPA. The lender has claimed their current reporting is an accurate representation of the status of the account and that they are "not required to provide a notice of default for this type of product". I'm not sure why they have said this either. As it stands, instead of this 28 day loan being removed after 6 years, it could stay on there for 9, 12, 15 years possibly.. you get my drift! I'm reluctant to escalate this to the FOS or ICO as from a lot of personal experience, they are extremely inconsistent and unreliable. Therefore, I'd like to go straight to litigation. The thing I'd like advice on, is which legislation(s) to use, i.e. just the DPA or include the CCA and ICO/FCA regulations. Also, as the lender is way past the legal timeframe in which they can default the account, and I'm sure they can't default it retrospectively, is it fair for me to request the account be removed in its entirety? I've seen others also request damages upto £1000, but I'm not sure how they have reached this sum or proved the sum justifies the damage caused. Any advice about the best way to go about this would be great! Thanks
  9. Hey guys, i have had an outstanding loan with PaydayUK for a long time now and i have been paying a monthly payment of £25. 2 days ago i got a random email offering me a loan from PaydayUk, so i emailed them and said i already have an outstanding loan with still over £300 remaining that i have been making monthly repayments, they have replied to me saying: 'We can confirm that we have been receiving payments regarding loan ID: ***********. This account is now showing as settled. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact the office on the number below' I have no idea how this is now settled, do i just forget about the loan now and take their word for it that it is in fact settled? Thanks Darren
  10. Hi, I have sent all my payday loan refunds claims off but I just have a few questions. I don't have any bank statements but I have my credit report. I attempted suicide because of my bad debt and I had over 19 payday loans in Sept 2011 so I chucked everything and buried my head in the sand. On my credit report it shows I had every month in 2010 - 2011 3 loans running at the same time every month. I have claims for all my loans in 2011. My quick quid loans I had 33 loans that's roughly over 7 per year. Do you think I have enough to claim back as most of my outgoings in them 3 years were to my parents as they are retired and relied on my rent. in 2009 my dad to a loan to pay all my lenders and so my outgoings increased by £150. Rent: £500 Dad Loan: £150 (After 2009) Mobile: £45 Travel: £250 Food: £200 In 2008 - 2010 I was earning £1010 and in 2010 - 2011 I was earning £1200 per month. For 4 months in 2010 I was on JSA so I only had £280 every 4 weeks. In 2008 - 2009 I had the following loans all at the same time Wonga Quick Quid Poundstillpayday Wageday Advance Payday UK Payday Express Moneybox 247 Mr lender Uncle Buck In 2010 - 2011 Wonga Quick Quid Payday UK Wage day Advance Payday Express Payday Overdraft Monkey Dosh Convers Money Tower Capital Moneybox 247 Mr Lender Poundstillpayday Cash Genie Peachy Loans TxT Loan The Loan Store UK Uncle Buck CFO Lending Poundstoday and I think PoundstoPocket Oakham As I said I don't have any bank statements only my Credit report that was bad anyway. MoneyBox247 have sent me a sheet that show the credit check they did came back with a score of 450! Thanks for any help in advance Happy Easter!!
  11. Hi admin, couldn't find a Payday Express forum, could you please move this conversation to correct place for me. OK I have made a complaint to payday express re a loan provided even though my credit rating at the time was shot to bits with lots of defaults and other pd loans. They have come back to me and said they have'nt been able to look into my complaint due to a heavy workload. So now I want to take my complaint to FOS but need help on how to word my complaint now that PDE have failed to respond within the weeks they were given.
  12. Hi All Just looking for a bit of advice please. I recently complained to some payday loan companies about unfair treatment and irresponsible lending. I had an email acknowledgi my complaint pretty soon after I submitted one of them. It outlined their complaints procedure and said they would send a final response within 8 weeks. A few days later I received a redress email that admitted I had been treated unfairly and that my balance as a result had been reduced to 0. Do you think this is their response to my complaint or is this just one step in their investigation into the complaint? And sorry to sound a bit dumb but what does 'balance restatement' mean? Many thanks C
  13. Hi All, I wondered if you can please help? Over the years, I have had literally hundreds of Payday Loans from lots of providers. Most of these have been used to fund Gambling. I was taking them out up until recently. They have all been payed back, using help from family members. I feel disgusted with myself for putting them through that. Although I take full responsibility for having a gambling problem, I believe I shouldn't have been lent to. I had loans that way exceeded my income at the time of taking out more loans, and still they lent to me. My question is, Can I ask for redress for all loans including ones taken out prior to lenders becoming FCA regulated in early 2015 or only before they were FCA regulated? Thanks.
  14. Hello, I successfully complained to both Wonga and Payday Uk about unfair lending practises and stated that they allowed me to get in a position of continuous borrowing and roll over without them doing the adequate checks. My wonga loan I had emailed at the time and stated I couldn't afford the repayment and wanted a payment plan organised. After a lot of back and forth they agreed. They did register a default and I am now wondering if there is anyway I can get them to remove this as they technically admitted that they were in the wrong and offered me a substantial refund. So surely I could argue that they put me in a position to get the default?
  15. in December i borrowed some money for 247 money box, the loan with interest came to £288 and was due to be re-payed 26.1.16. on the 26.1.16 i received a email from 247 money box saying my payment had been received, so i thought no more about it. in February i took another loan for a much smaller amount, which i paid off in full at the end of the month - now as far as im concerned my account is settled. today i received a email saying they haven’t received payment in January for £288 and i will need to settle this on my next payday (in 4 days time) i have now checked my bank and despite the email from them confirming payment, and the funds being available they didn’t take any money.. can they just demand payment in full with such short notice? I have not budgeted for this and this will cause some problems for me, having done some reading tonight, I’ve come across some very worry stories about this companies collection practices. any advice how to deal with them would be greatly appreciated
  16. Hi, Thanks to all those who post such great advice. I am currently in the process of claiming for irresponsible lending. I have had a great number of payday loans due to a gambling problem. I have had an offer from Quickquid via the FOS to repay interest on the last two loans made in October. I am just after some advice as to have far I could reasonably claim back for to see if it is worth shortening the fight. I have outlined the dates and amounts below. I have already had a judgment from the adjudicator that one in August was irresponsibly lent so I am working on the basis that everything after is. Would it be worth try to ask for interest from the loan in April as I had borrowed 3 times already and paid off the March one only to borrow two days later and on my payday no less?? When do you think that the FOS would start presuming that money was being irresponsibly lent? Quickquid Oct 2014 £400 Quickquid Dec 2014 £600 Quickquid Oct £1000 (paid off and then...) Quickquid Oct £1100 Quickquid March £700 Quickquid April £700 (paid off the previous loan and then borrowed 2 days later - on my payday) Satsuma August £500 (The adjudicator has said that this has been irresponsibly lent) Satsuma Feb 2015 £350 Sunny Feb 2015 £700 Sunny May £750 Sunny June £100 Sunny Sep £750 Sunny Oct £350 Payday Express Feb 2015 £400 Payday Express May £400 Uncle Buck July £200 Uncle Buck Oct £300 Lending Stream Sep £250 Lending Stream June £150 Whizz Cash Sep £250 Western Circle Sep £200 Pixie Loans Sep £200 Pixie Loans Oct £300 Piggybank Nov £100 Ferratum Nov £110
  17. Hi, does anyone have the link to calculate payday loan refunds?
  18. Good Evening, I am trying to locate email addresses for Yes Loans and Liquid Advance which I had loans with, I am trying to reclaim my interest charges from these companies. Could someone help with this please?? Thank you for your time ;-) Kind Regards Mr Wits
  19. Hi all I am needing some help. I am looking to claim back all possible charges for payday loans I took out in the past. In some instances I had numerous roll-overs, re-lending etc so I want to raise a dispute with all of the past lenders and try and claim back some or all of the charges. So would like some letter templates from those who have had success. By the way all of these have been settled and none are chasing me for anything. Cheers
  20. Hi Everyone, I have been having a read on the site with regards to payday loan/short term loans. I have had several of these and being completely honest I dont know where to turn with them all. I have tried to pay them but am getting no where. Probably best if I start from the beginning. A few years ago I was taking out loans left, right and centre and spending the money on stupid things - electronics/cars. Looking at my credit file there is a few of them all round about the same time. There was a lot of things escalating in my life. I have now got my life back on track and was diagnosed with BPD. My triggers for BPD are money, electronics & cars. I have defaulted on all the loans and have seen people are now getting these written off due to unfair lending. At the time of the loans I was self employed and have lost the business due to my illness and not being able to keep the business a float. So I was looking to see if anyone can give me some help/info on whether I have a case for this or if I am up the creek without a paddle. I have my credit file from noddle so will supply all the details I can from them. Quickbridge (Uk) LTD £ 0 01/02/2013 Settled Im sure this was Wonga, I had made a plan to pay this back last year and was then I received a letter stating the debt had been written off and not to pay anymore. I called them but they would not give me any further information. Just wanted to cover as much as I can. As you can probably tell I took out a lot. With my BPD it seems as though this is a normal thing what I did but speaking with my consultant this is a regular occurance with people who have my condition. I have it under control now but want to get this all sorted as it stresses me out thinking about this all. I did contact a few companies last year to try and sort this and had a payment plan with them but I have been unable to keep up with the payment dues to my finances. If any of you could give me some advice on whether I have a case that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
  21. Hello All, We have been in a DMP for many years now and are paying what we can afford to all our creditors through Payplan. We have just received a statement from Link Financial for a loan we had going back to 1998 for an original amount of £2049.28. In 2008 the amount outstanding was £1893.27 and the statement now shows that we owe £5113.27. Payplan have confirmed that London Scottish were collecting this debt on behalf of Link in 2008 and then it was transferred back to Link who have refused all requests to stop any interest being added to the account. I have been paying amounts to them varying from £4.15 to £7.21 under the DMP but the statement shows monthly interest being added and some months this is a much as £83.07 at a rate of 21.7%. Payplan have stated that It may be of interest to the FOS so should I be writing to them as well as Link Financial ? The other matter is that I have 3 payday loans showing on my credit file as these are in the DMP too. made the mistake just over a year ago of borrowing money from them to help pay for my mothers funeral expenses but then it kept rolling over. The companies are Quick Quid £361, Think Finance £782 and instant cash loans T/A Payday UK £557. The credit file for these loans show monthly periodic payment amounts for not what I am paying them but for amounts varying from £782 / £1440 and £557. Surely this is incorrect information ? Is there any way I can get rid of the payday loans off my credit file as when I borrowed from them it was an instant online decision and they kept allowing me to roll it over. I admit it was a very big mistake to use these people in the first place but I was in a bit of a panic I hope someone can help and advise me please as its really worrying me now. Thanks in advance
  22. Hello, I'm looking to get some advice after reading about the redress that payday companies are paying. I had three loans, one with QuickQuid which I repaid in full, one with Payday UK and one with Payday Express, both of which I defaulted on in 2013 and remain a black mark on my credit file. I defaulted on these owing to losing my primary employment and sinking into a sea of debt. I took out the Payday Express loan on the 13/03/2013 and the Payday UK one on 01/07/2013. My first question is - since these defaulted in December 2013, and no payments made since, would it be possible to get redress? My credit file was already shot to bits at the time of these loans - having already defaulted on my credit cards (not able to make the minimum payments on those), and I will openly admit I went for them in hindsight to try and buy myself time and sustain myself as my job was coming to an end and I was just trying to get to the end of each month. My questions are - even though the accounts are in default, would I be able to get them written off under the redress scheme? It is certainly easily provable that I was a considerable credit risk at the time. Secondly, even though I was able to pay off the QuickQuid loan, managed it with some difficulty and by utilising the other two loans to continue making the payments. Is there any redress there even though I settled the account? Thanks alot in advance for any advice, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions.
  23. But rejoice fellow members who've already had a Loan from them... I bring Festive News.... They are part of a larger umbrella of companies that offer loans all around the world. The above is taken from a US Article.
  24. does anyone have any contact emails for pounds till payday as I want to dispute a loan i have with them, any success stories about disputed defaulted loans would be good to know as well
  25. Hi I took out a loan off quickquid back in feb 2012 I could not afford to pay the loan back at the time. They sold the debt to gothiagroup in 2014 Its been in arrears ever since feb 2012 the total amount is £1149. Its been nearly 4 years in arrears now and shows up on my credit report. Would it be worth writing to quickquid to see if I could get this loan write off due to I could not afford to pay this loan back at the time thanks.
