  1. Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I wanted a little help about this apparent debt I have from a company called JUICE PLUS who have passed on the debt to OCC(Options Credit Consultants). The back story: A friend was selling JUICE PLUS weight loss packs and I thought I'd try one out, the deal was £20 for a month of supplies which are given all in one go. And it was a locked in 3 month contract. However I never used the stuff, my friend had been fired for a ridiculous reason, I pursued Juice Plus asking them to cancel the contract and never ever received a reply. I received one letter for them stating I owe them £60 (Even though I paid £20 upfront). I replied to them via email saying that unless I receive a breakdown of the cost of it in writing and why they never replied to my first enquiry then I will not be paying and I'm happy to return the goods unopened. They never replied. ..two weeks later I received a letter from OCC, who said I had now owed £65. I replied via email, stating that JUICE PLUS had never proven I'd taken out a contract (Which I had asked them in the email I sent) nor have they sent me a breakdown or even tried to resolve the issue with myself. They never replied.... I now receive this letter (I've written it below the bottom post as I cannot post links to photos for some reason) Now I've NEVER received a letter in my life stating immediate court action, and I have a general understanding that most of the time this would be a scare tactic to make you pay. I've only ever received letters asking to pay now or etc etc but never a letter like this. But what worries me is the statutory interest at 8% a day which has no end date would leave myself in a hell of a debt. Also noting they also saying I will be responsible for the court fees and also that they will get a levy execution on my property, which for me is great because I don't own anything and I've always had my parents keep receipts of everything in the house so it's their property not mine. Just wanted some advice on what to do next, I have a short temper and was literally going to call them and give them a mouth full but, I was hoping for some advice, as that is probably the smartest thing to do. Thanks
  2. Hi all, wondering if some-one can advise on this. Last year after a catalogue of errors and muddles with my pay and holidays etc, something happened and I had a melt down on the phone to some-one in HR (sheers frustration at being fobbed off and not listened to). It took me by surprise..didn't realize stress had been building up, so I finished conversation saying something like..I'm going to see my doctor and if I am ill you (my employer- public sector) have made me ill. T hat was on the 29th July 2014. I did go and see my doctor on the 1st August, (mainly to let them know the score) and continued to work as normal (part-time, evenings and weekends). I'd made it clear my job was not stressful it was all the management nonsense with my contracts, pay holidays etc that got me down and stressed , as I had to sort it all out in my free time in office hours.. Within a few days a letter arrived from the Occupational health service telling me to attend a meeting on Wednesday the 10th. The referral had been made on the 1st August. just two days after my meltdown on the phone with HR. So, Several questions. (the referral was for stress). a)are employers allowed to ambush some-one with OH like that out of the blue without even discussing the problem properly or formally even letting me know me I would be referred. b) I wasn't even on the sick and had never been on the sick. Did they have to right to refer me, especially without asking?( I idid get sent a consent form, with the appointment letter, but that had warnings about how if I didn't go it might affect decisions my dept made about me. I was stressed, not thinking properly, signed it and agreed to go to the appointment but made it clear it was under duress. c) The appointment was for a Wednesday 1.30, at a place about 8 miles away..in my free time plus I was expected to get there at my own expanse. As it happens I was afraid of driving in case I had a melt down again in the car (basically a high anxiety attack..sobbing not being able to breath etc.) . I asked for Time in lieu as I'd have to go on the bus,.., which would take ages. HR said no way but eventually relented and offered to pay for a taxi. Should they give me TIL as well as the taxi? The OH report basically said I was fine, just having a normal reaction to intolerable management issues. I continued to work for two months, while a review of the muddle with my holidays etc. was carried out. There is more but I'd like to see what people think about this lot first. Many thanks
  3. I attended a formal meeting with line manager and person from HR about my recent Occ Health report. I had a doctors appointment to talk about the possibility of an operation after this meeting. However after a short discussion about the report the manager changed the subject to an incident I had earlier that day with a supervisor where I made what I had thought a minor flippant comment (even the supervisor told me it was all sorted out when I spoke to him, but he was obviously lying). The manager then continued to 'grill me' about the incident. I asked him not to continue with his questioning as I wanted union rep to be involved. He continued with his questioning or should I say interogation. When I finally said I had to leave for doctors appointment he said "this is not over and we will continue this tomorrow!" Anyway I was signed off sick for 2 weeks and nothing ever came of the disciplinary. I have since put in a grivance against this incident and other lack of duty of care relating to my disability (which is another story). It was never really investigated properly at the grievance so I have appealed. Question is when does a disciplinary meeting actually start as I feel I was denied my rights of being given a letter and the legal right of representation? Manager has used an entrapment tatic by using the occ health meeting. This was clearly not just an investigation but a disciplinary hearing! Any advice appreciated!
  4. I have been off sick since January I saw Occupational health nurse & personnel manager at my home in March. I got another letter in early may stating they wanted another occ health appt, i called head office and requested a home visit with the occ health nurse only (we are allowed to request this!), she did not turn up. I then received a letter to state i had a booking for a telephone appt with occ health, they did not ring me. I then receive a letter from work stating I have missed 2 appointments, the matter is serious and I am putting them in a very difficult position. I sent work the copy letter confirming my telephone appointment and also explained that I had not missed 2 appointments. That was last friday (18th) and I have heard nothing but i believe the personnel manager has been on holiday this week! Aaaaargh, what do I do!!
