  1. Sorry, I had to share this Last night (well the morning before, on Wednesday), I was working away with the news chattering away in the background and voila... First time I've ever heard a news-caster lose it hahah Here's what I managed to catch: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/61211034/IMG_1681.m4v

  4. A news item, (not appeared on their site yet), on Sky News this morning highlights the difference in price between Argos and Brighthouse plus Brighthouse adds compulsory insurance, again at rip-off prices. Sorry to say this but anyone who uses this store are really stupid especially after all the warnings, it doesn't matter what the circumstances are. It matters not if you have a bad credit rating, there are other forms of credit besides using this expansion of a loan shark.
  5. A nice read today http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/markets/article-2813259/MARKET-REPORT-Shares-slump-Capita-loses-completely-450m-Ministry-Justice-contracts.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Footsie constituent Capita lived up to its City nickname of ‘Crapita’ as shares of the provider of services to the Government, including collection of the TV licence fee and the London congestion charge, slumped 75p or 6 per cent to 1082p on hearing it had lost out completely on Ministry of Justice contracts worth £450million to manage probation services for low and medium-risk offenders.
  6. Vauxhall has warned owners of around 3,000 vehicles to stop driving them until they have been inspected because of a steering problem. The UK carmaker said those affected are Adam and Corsa/Corsavan models registered since May 2014, which had been manufactured with a steering system part "that did not meet specification". The discovery was made during a routine quality control exercise at two of the firm's manufacturing plants - one in Germany and one in Spain. The company said it was not aware of any accident or injury related to the issue. Vauxhall said: "As a precaution, these vehicles should not be driven prior to inspection. "Vauxhall puts the safety and convenience of its customers first and as this condition concerns their safety, the company is taking immediate action." The firm said customers could check on their website from today, whether their vehicle was affected, and that it would also contact buyers directly. It added: "Alternatively customers can call the Vauxhall customer assistance centre for advice on 0800 026 0034 between 9am and 5.30pm." http://news.sky.com/story/1343012/vauxhall-recall-warning-over-corsa-steering
  7. Hi all Just so you are aware Roxburghe and PCN parking services went into administration yesterday. All staff were sacked without pay and sent home. Thought u may like this news Enjoy X
  8. You'll Love This - Supermarket staff broke into a woman’s car and rolled it into a bush so a truck could make a delivery. Janina Wasiuta says she had just finished work when she noticed that her Ford Fiesta was no longer where she left it that morning – parked in an alley between an Aldi and a railway line.

  11. Hi My daughter has just started delivering papers for the local shop and wanting to know is there a minimum wage for her? She is 16, the shop is saying she isn't entitled to it because of there HNT , but I thought by law she was entitled?, and the wage she is getting is £2.82 hour is this right?
  12. I had a sanction placed on my ESA for missing an appointment (that they said was alright as it conflicted with a MIND appointment) but i received a sanction a week later so i got someone to phone and was told the sanction would be sorted once i attend a new Seetec appointment so i did this the day after now a month later and i have still heard nothing (also just attended another seetec appointment which are monthly) about my sanction and i am still receiving the lower amount is it just a matter of waiting or should i phone them to try and get it sorted quicker. also on seetec i have not been going long a couple of months or so but yet i have had 5 different advisers in that time 1 of them i understand as she told me she would be leaving but all the other changes im not sure why makes me so nervous when attending as i never know who im going to be seeing.
  13. The FCA will assume responsibility for all debt management companies from 1 April 2014 and hold these fee paying companies to account for any failings. I for one will see how many fee paying companies remain trading. These represent the scourge of vulnerable consumers caught up in the debt spiral.
  14. Within the last 18 months I have changed Banks three times no less. Within days of opening the accounts, I have had to make formal complaints to all three. For each Bank, I set what I considered to be a just and reasonable amount, to compensate me for the issue complained of. I must admit,. a couple of Banks voluntarily increased the amount I claimed, knowing my claim to be so fair, given the cicumstances of the claim itself. The total number of claims agreed and settled has sadly exceeded 23 claims shared by all three. I am still with my original Bank and now they too have been served 2 complaints notices today. I am pleased to say (Not smuggly) that I have not failed with any of my claims. I have been truthful, patient, assertive and robust but certainly not rude. How has this guy been so sucessful ? You may well ask. Well before I answer that, I would ask that anyone who has also got similar experiances of the Banking industry in respect of their complaint acheivements to make a contribution to this post before I finally answer the above question I have put to myself for CAG users everywhere - Even the Banks themselves!. NodNod:wink:
  15. According to a Roxburghe Dedt Collectors employee today, Gladstones Solicitors ltd, based in Cheshire now represent them...........We all now wait with baited breath? Do you good people not find it a matter of concern that this is the 3rd lot of solicitors that they have had this year, with the last ones, GPB being closed down by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for dishonest practice!!!!!!!!!! Bearing in mind that the OFT have ' Refused to Renew' their Consumer Credit Licience I personally find this most interesting. Happy Parking People
  16. RBS are paying me £2002 from the missold ppi. 18. went for a repossession hearing this morning - property is under offer and due to exchange within the month so I was quite relaxed in that the mortgage company solicitor suggested they go for a 56 day order. I spoke to the 11 year old solicitor sent to represent the solicitor and we agreed to agree on this. On going into court the judge was brilliant.... "I dont understand why you are bringing this action when the house is due to exchange in the next few weeks? Why would you want to saddle these people with a possession order that will make it difficult to get another mortgage...this is nonsense and I am adjourning for a month pending the exchange of this property.....good day!" Top man!! I did smile as the child spluttered and burbled about just in case it doesnt exchange and the judge said in the most condescending way possible...."well we'll come back and you can try again!"

  21. It'll be a year this week I've been in this job, best money I've had since the glory days of 2007, saved shovel-loads of cash and even if it all went "BOOM!" tomorrow, I'm sitting very pretty indeed. But guys, I'll always be Jaybee From The Block, I'm never going to forget the hard times, having to fill out those damn job diaries, or sit for 3 hours a week with those phony work 'providers'. Couple of weeks ago a colleague of mine got laid off, and he was DREADING going back to the JC, very much the nervous type, always took everything the JC threw at him personally, to the point where he literally threw up a few times. Took him to the pub, bought him a few Guinesses and told him how with the JC it's all procedure and show, to keep the expenses tucked right down, and when they harass him with that "You are supposed to spend 35 hours a week job hunting" crap, instead of falling to pieces trying to give an account of the last 7 days, just to smile mirthlessly and drawl, "Yeah, sure". I remember first claiming the dole back in 1990 or so, no damn job diaries, no showing your cv, and you didn't even need to sign on time, quite often I turned up in the afternoon when my signing time was first thing in the morning, they NEVER refused, I did it about 6 times before some woman made a peep. And they actually TRIED TO FIND YOU WORK. It truly was a centre where they would try to get you a job. I absolutely despise the harassment this government needles the unemployed with, and I can tell you I harassed back with regular emails complaining about lapses in procedure, waiting times, the lot. I want to go back to how it was in 1990, I walked in with a smile, signed, and left with a smile. Sometimes I didn't even have my signing papers. But every time I walked in to sign in 2012, over a year back, it was like going into a war zone. Sorry I've rambled, I just feel that everyone who wants a job deserves one, and this damn system nowadays is just driving victims of this recession into horrible pain. I'm not signing any more, but I'm with you guys still. I wish each and every one of you the very best of luck like I've had, keep your chins up, and don't let the b*****s get you down!!!
