  1. Really appreciate anyones help here!! I ordered an iPad quite a while back now back in 2013 from Very. It never arrived and I only got an empty box. I complained to very.co.uk and they would not refund me. I contacted my bank and they suggested I raised a chargeback and I got my money back. I kept getting letters from Very stating I owe them the amount and if I do not pay I will be contacted by a debt company. I contacted my bank and was told not to pay the debt as I had not received the device. I now have a letter stating I have a default notice because of this amount from Very and NDR debt company. I contacted very again and the debt company, no one is helping me and my credit is still being affected by this. Whoever I speak to I keep getting turned away. I then contacted the head office of Very (Shop Direct) and explained the situation. They replied saying I didn't reply to letters or emails (I did) and that because of the length of time they will not re investigate and I still need to pay the debt and that it may effect my credit score. I emailed and called and tweeted them. They stated that the item was sent out. I then contacted the head office and they investigated and concluded that nothing could be done. I reported it to the FOS 2 weeks ago when i received a default notice letter. I did not do anything before that as i was advised by my bank to ignore letters and to not pay anything. What do i do?! I never got the item so why should I pay the debt?! My bank even says do not pay it. Any info would be great!
  2. Hi guys, wondering if anyone can advise...sit ya self down get a coffee as this long winded !!! My son 22, had not long returned from Afghan where he was serving in the Army, and was involved in a serious bike accident 18 months ago and has resulted in him being physically and mentally injured to the point that he is being medically discharged from the Army. Part of his mental injury has resulted in memory loss, deep depression (to the point of attempted suicide). Some how he has managed to rack up debt with all of the above companies. He was living with his girlfriend but has since moved home and I am trying to sort out the mess that he is in. He has taken out pay day loans with Peachy, Quick Quid, Cashfloat and 4no with Lending Stream. He has also had goods from Very and Littelwoods and his account has been passed on to NDR (in house debt collection). I have contacted them all and advised them of his situation and that he is experiencing hardship. QQ have agreed to a payment plan which I am happy with but Lending Stream have totally ignored the phone calls and sold the debt on to another company because I have questioned if they had done relevant credit checks etc. Are lending stream right that they had 4 lines of credit for my son?? Is that legal?? Peachy when questioned regarding the affordability of the loan and credit checks have also sent the debt to a recovery agent. With NDR I have offered to pay for all goods but no interest or charges which they are refusing. Total amount £720.00 offered £530.00 £72 charges, rest interest. Can anyone advise me please... Hello everyone - I hope you can help, I’ve been reading through the forum but couldn’t find answer, I have a catalogue account with very opened 2011 - I went into arrears at the end of 2012 - I’m not to sure what my balance was including interest but I know it was over £2000 - I did the usual thing burying head in the sand act - then I received a few letters from NDR and I set up a payment plan Feb 2013 to pay them £105 per month. This was on the premise that they (NDR) will be freezing interest on my account and I would be making regular payments - I have been making regular payments for just over a year now - and just received my statement for the month saying I still owe them well over 1300 and need to make a minimum payment of £647 - on closer inspection I noticed that I have been charged interest every month - after interest was suppose to be frozen - It’s completely my fault for stupidly not looking at my statements and happily paying this every month! But I’ve gone into my very account and have a look at NDR statements from July 2013 and it looks like I have been charged between £40 - £60 every time I have paid them. Is this right since they agreed to freeze my interest ( I don’t have anything in writing) when I initially set up a payment plan. Is there anyway I can claim this back? Also when settling the debt would I am able t negotiating an amount to completely satisfy thee debt? Apologies f its a stupid question - I just feel so silly for trusting these people and not checking my account was fine when this was put in place Thank you in advance for you help
  4. Hi all. I have a Very account with a credit limit of £750. The balance is currently £294. I've only ever spent £200 on the card. I paid way more than the minimum every month until i had a dispute with them. I ordered a rug but didn't like it and sent it back. the money never got credited back to my account. They sent it to NDR. and then capquest. there's loads of late payment, administration fees and interest every month. Its now under my debt management plan with step change but i really think its wrong. I dont have all the statements and letters but have written to capquest and very with a SAR and a CCA request and am awaiting a response. Any help? x
  5. I have catalogue debts which have been passed to NDR (I understand these are part of Shop Direct). Like many others, myself and my husband got into a situation where we could not afford pay the minimum amount. I have written numerous letters informing them of our situation and even giving them a StepChange reference (which they requested), all ignored, until this morning. I have now received letters for each account from NDR to say they will not accept a our offer of repayment. What do I do now and where do I go from here. I understand I owe this money and I don't think I could query my agreement as accounts were opened in about 2009/2010. Has anyone ever managed to get NDR to agree to a reduced payment plan??
  6. Hey, My partner has found herself in a bit of a mess with her a specific pay-day loan from Speed Credit (Who I think shows up as Microcredit on her Noodle Credit Report). The loan with Speed Credit was initially for £400, but since they've been closed down, the debt was apparently transferred to NDR (Northern Debt Recovery) who are now requesting a total sum of £3,329. Seeing as Speed Credit was closed down, and NDR are recovering the money for Speed Credit, does it need to be paid? At the moment her Credit Report is... Bad. Simply Put. And we're looking at improving it so we can get a mortgage in a few years. But can't really improve it without getting rid of these Red Marks on her sheet. Also - On her Experian credit report, it shows a pay-day loan from a company 'EXPRESS FINANCE LIMITED', does anyone know what company that is? I really do appreciate any help that can be given.   7. Hi all I was wondering if you could help with a question I have. I originally offered NDR a payment plan (worked out via a personal dmp). They refused my offer of payment, even though it is all I can afford. Upon searching for help on the internet with what to do next, I realised I could send a CCA request, which I did and they replied quite promptly with a written report of my account and a printed version of what I agreed to online. This is where I'm a little confused. As my account was set up online, they have a box which says 'tick for signature', which has a tick in it. Is this enforceable as me signing up to an agreement with them or does it have to be an actual signature? I'm not sure what to do next until I know if they can enforce my tick box online version? Hi all, I'm really hoping someone would see this and help me out I'm a 20 year old student and I stupidly took out a £300 loan with TOOTHFAIRY and I signed onto a DMP shortly after, agreeing to take £40 a month. At this point, I apparently had to pay £800. I paid them month by month and to this day I've paid them £310 and I am currently in the process of switching DMP's from Debt Advisory to Stepchange (because they're free) and I received an email from Toothfairy saying that I now needed to repay £1711!!!!!!!!!!!! Bear in mind I have kept up with payments consistently! The £40 has always gone through to them! I've logged a complaint with FOS and OFT but to be honest, they couldn't answer me straight when I asked if I would be dealing with this for the rest of my life if they don't accept any payment plans, they could keep charging interest. PLEASE help me, I start 2nd year of uni next month and this is making me very depressed, the constant emails and calls are very scary and the thought of it never going away frightens me so much!
  9. i am with a company called 123ds i pay £60 a month and have done so for 18 months my debt was £4000 its now £5000 cos ndr have charged me so much interest on a £300 debt, its now £2000, they get £12 of the £60 the rest goes on my other debts ,they say they wont stop interest unlest i pay them £58 a month ,i went with this debt company beleiving interest will be stopped, but ndr are the only company not stopping the interest ,i am trying to get out of debt yet i have got further in debt how can i stop my debt getting bigger ,if i could afford more i would please help
  10. Had 1 of those messages about being taken to court etc from each so called firm. Phoned both up and guess what our postcode didn't come up on the system. And for some reason NDR can't take it off their system. what can I do ?????????????????????? It seems someone has put my home number on a form, but put a different address and email. We have reported it to a fraud team, is there anything else we can do?????????????
  11. Hi, I am having huge difficulty with NDR/Marshall Hoares. I have read several threads on them but not entirely sure what I should be doing next. I wasn’t able to handle my debts anymore so I entered into a DMP with Step Change. As per instructions, I sent an email to all my creditors that I was entering a DMP and that they will be receiving details shortly. While the whole thing was getting set up, Speed Credit kept trying to call me. I spoke to them the first few times explaining that they need to wait a while. Few days later they passed it to NDR and then calls kept coming from them. Finally it got ridiculous as they were calling me 2-3 times a day during my working hours and I had to say the same thing over and over again. i started to ignore their calls. Then they called my work number. I wasn’t at work and a colleague picked up and left me a message. When I called them and asked them why they called my work, they said there was no mention on their system that my work number was called. Big Surprise!!! I then told them they should never call my work and the guy told me I provided the details and that they will call my work number if they cant get me on my mobile. After I spoke to the advisor and explained my situation (that they will be receiving a correspondence letter soon), on the same day I received 2 other calls, just different idiots asking the same thing. They are calling me 2-3 times a day now, even on weekends. Also text and emails with home visit threats and in a few months my £400 loan has gone up to £2245. Step Change has sent the correspondence at least 3 times on my request and every time they declined it. Apparently it wasn't enough. They want me to pay a minimum of £40/month. I have several other Payday loans and can’t pay any more than what has been offered to them. Last Sunday, they spoofed their number so it seemed like an international call coming in. I picked up and the guy was very rude, screaming at me. Why I took out a loan when I can’t pay? Apparently 90% of their customers always pay and are very satisfied with them, etc. etc. I even explained that if they had accepted the offer which was in late February, a lot of that debt would have already been paid but they didn’t. He kept on saying that I need to give up some luxuries, I asked him to look at my budget sheet and tell me if there is anything there that can be removed. I don’t earn a lot so after all the essential things; I don’t have a lot extra left over. Whatever is left is going to step change. he told me my land line and my mobile is a luxury and I should give that up and pay them back. I couldn’t believe it; thank god he didn’t say that rent was a luxury as well. I asked them to contact Step Change and he said and I quote ‘we don’t contact your debt management company, they should contact us. If we don’t hear from them, we will contact you only’. I have read somewhere that once you are in a DMP, the debtors should only contact the debt management company and not me. Is that true? We finally came to an arrangement that I will ask Step Change to send them the correspondence again but I know they will decline it again. The calls/text/emails are still coming in. I really need this to stop and there is no way I am paying over 2 grand on a £400 loan. Please help.
  12. I paid off my NDR (Speedcredit/toothfairy) loan from these crooks around the end of April. I reported the issue of these companies taking money out of my account and reported that ndr, paydayexpress and PDUK all took money out without my authorization. My bank did refund that money back to me as they were at fault because I had cancelled my continuous payment authority in letter and over the phone. I received this email of NDR yesterday- A payment made on your file has been cancelled. Your card issuer has indicated you have requested this. 1. If you do not contact us today we will pass this file together with evidence of your agreement to pay this amount to the Police. Fraudulent activity on the account includes but is not limited to: 1. Using stolen cards to pay off loans 2. Using your own card and then cancelling the payment later. 3. Cancelling a payment taken in accordance with agreed payment plans and/or terms and conditions. You should note that ANY such fraud may be pursued through the Courts together with all evidence including our IP tracking technology which traces the origin of the payment application to yourself. If you do not contact us within 24 hours - Recovery Agents will visit all addresses we have on file for you. - Your file may also be passed to the Police with a view to Criminal Prosecution. This will add charges to your file and increase the cost of repaying the debt. We expect to hear from you today.   13. Hi everyone I'm new here so bear with me I'm having problems with Very & NDR and they aren't very helpful at all when you want to sort it out. My original debt was £1200 but it's now £1800 due to all the charges and interest they've added on. I've offered to pay what I could which was £15 a month as I'm stuck on JSA at the moment and I don't get much from that but they won't accept any less than £70 odd a month! I usually receive a letter monthly telling me to make a minimum payment of that and i usually just send in a small token payment as I can't afford it! I've received a letter today from Very with something about a Default Notice and that i'm in breach of a clause because I've failed to make all my periodic payments in full when due and my arrears are outstanding. If I do not take the action required by this notice before the date shown then further action will be taken against me? I don't know what to do, I can't make a full payment and they wouldn't accept what I could pay, at least I try to pay! Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
  14. im new to this site i will be glad if i can get some help to my answers. after my wife was off work to have our second child we got behind on payments to catalogues. i phoned them august last year to reduce my monthly payments the reply i got was a snotty no, i just payed what i could but they kept on chargeing me £12 a month i got nowhere. ndr got in contact with me and i did my best in paying them the min i could afford but im just hitting a brick wall. now my wife is about to leave work to have our 3rd child and they still want payments that i temporay set up with them a few months ago but i just can't afford it now. the debts are: very outstanding £1456 , i have been paying £130 a month, littlewoods £1193 outstanding i have been paying £88 a month and kays well they want min £738 this month with £3168 outstanding and last time i spoke to them they said they will pass debt to someone else. i just don't know which way to go anymore i keep thinking about letting them take me to court. we have unplugged the phone as they phone every hour from 9am till 9pm the stress is intense any help would be fantastic. regards steve
  15. Hey guys i don't know if anyone can help. I haven't a clue about debt collectors, agencies etc and i am finding it a little over whelming ! I did something very stupid back in November and took out at loan with tooth-fairy finance for 450 pounds. I missed the repayment date as i was a way my own fault really. There was no contact on their part bar one email when i got back home stating that they have emailed me and phone me etc which they hadn't and because i haven't contacted them my case has been passed to NDR, i rang up tooth fairy finance who then stated my debt had been passed on to NDR like the email and they will speak to NDR now and arrange a repayment plan. They said its either 100 pounds a month or 1000 pounds upfront or they'll take me to court there and then, me being naive and feeling pressured into it agreed to the 100 pounds a month because they wouldn't received any less and i was told that i would end up court paying more and having bailiffs round if i don't. Now its come to the point where they've cut my hours at work and i can not afford the 100 pounds a month anymore and they are refusing to help. Please help me im at my wits end i know its my own fault for getting in this situation but i am trying to sort out my issues now.
  16. Hello I've been reading posts on here and need some advice, I have littlewoods and very debt that have been handed to NDR. I haven't been able to make the full payments they require and I never answer their calls as I hear they try to get you in a corner and demand more money off you. It seems like the right thing to do is send a letter offering an amount per month, who should I send this to? NDR or very/littlewoods ? Also I have no idea what to write in it, I just want to get something sorted ASAP as its really stressing me out worrying about letters or maybe bailiffs, any help would be great thanks!!

I have just received this email from marshall hoare regarding my outstanding loan with toothfairy i have sent them an offer of repayment the most i can afford submitted a income and expenditure form yet they are still refusing to accept my offer and i have now received this email below, i am happy to pay what i owe but they have added over 400 in charges and are now threatening doorstep agents and court action please help. I dont know where i stand with regards to the charges and everything eles. any help with regards to a reply to them any help whatsoever i would be really grateful of.   18. Hello, I had a bad experience with these people. I borrowed £400 and today it is over £2400 in debt with them. Continued harassment by NDR and MH Bailiffs, who for those who dont know, are owned by the same owners as ToothFairy. It's all a [EDIT]. I am refusing to repay, and I am happy for them to take me to court where I will fight them. There is no note on my credit file regarding ToothFairy. I'd like to know if this is the same for everyone? Has anyone ever been visited by a real bailiff, or been taken to court by these people? I have launched a website to warn others and share peoples bad experiences with these people. Please visit the site and share your experiences. No more victims.   19. Hey Guys I have been battling with Speedcredit/toothfairy/NDR/Marshall Hoares for months and months. I finally got them to agree to a payment plan. On a £100 loan they had hiked up charges to nearly £1500, through sheer grit and determination I managed to get them to agree (in writing) to 3 payments of £58 to settle and close the account. All was fine, I made the three payments (Oct, Nov and Dec) as instructed on their email (via bank transfer with a reference number) Those jokers have now said they cannot find my November payment and I still owe them £58 and unless I pay they will start recovery for the full amount of £1560. I have called them and replied via their useless web pages numerous times, and numerous times I am told their account department is looking into it, then 2 days later I get another round of emails telling me I still owe them money. In my last phone call I told them that I have my bank statement to hand to prove that the payment has made, I have even instructed my bank to run a trace on the payment..... I was told to email it to them......Idiots! I was then in a later call told to fax it to them....!! Now being in the 21st century I do not own a fax machine and my work do not own a fax machine. So what was I to do, the lovely man on the phone told me to seek out a corner shop and get them to fax the sensitive documents over...... again REALLY! Soooo here is my cheeky work around. I have found a online fax service offering a free 30 day trial. The service gives you your own fax number and will fax whatever you upload to any other fax machine number (after the 30 days its £7.99 a month but you can cancel it anytime during the trial) http://www.efax.co.uk/ It works a treat! Sent my letter, copy of their letter accepting a payment plan and copy of my bank statement proving payment (with my bank account number and sort code blocked out, not having the cheeky buggers try and get any more money out of me!) via fax to NDR at this number 0203 137 0794 and a few minutes later got a fax receipt telling me my transmission was successful, sent to my email address. To be fair that fax machine at NDR could actually be their local corner shop but that is the number they gave me and I have a receipt to prove I have sent the letter should anything come back to me later. I wanted to share this with you guys as I know everyone has trouble emailing and sending letters to this company and indeed getting recorded delivery proof via royal mail. Perhaps going old school and faxing will help some of you Keep on plugging at them guys.... you can do it! Love H xx

I have a Kays mail order account, due to being unemployed for a few months, I got into arrears and NDR are now contacting me, arranged to pay a lower amount with them thinking it was Kays, I am paying the amount every month to Kays but have now accrued late payment fees, due to them not making it clear that payment is not due on a set date every month. I am going to start the reclaim for these this week. But my question is, I have been paying into Kays account as normal so why am I getting a statement every month from NDR, has anyone tried to get this changed back to Kays statement, I know this sounds stupid but I dont want to pay direct to a dept collector.
  21. had been looking at my mums statements for this company (ndr) and ive came across service charges each month for either a "debt collection phonecall" or "late minimum payment fee" sometimes both im guessing these are bogus and she could claim them back? she has a payment set up each month that is paid on time so im lost at where the late minumum payment fee is coming from. both of these charges are £12 each
  22. Hi to everyone I took out loan 400 pound from paycheckcredit which is MCO capital November 2011 i rolled over couple off times end up my job gone. I tried despite to contact them for repayment plan but they never accepted.So usual things was happen everyday lots of mail text phone call but i didnt answer and i sent their email address i want everything in writing.Still no reply by the time every months i paid their account 1 pound. My outstanding balance right now around 3000 K. The thing is last night when i checked my credit file i saw there is a default by Toothfairy and outstanding balance 2800 pound. Right now i am so confuse because i took out this loan from paychekcredit which is MCO capital.Does anyone know how come toothfairy defaulted my credit file and do they have relationship with MCO even they have got different licence.   23. hi so here goes, where do i begin........... i get a payday loan from TFF it defaults due to a mistake on their behalf and i get hit with all sorts of fees.......im sure you know where im going with this, these fees lead me to being contacted (harassed) by NDR and MHB ive had all of their techniques, emails,sms,phone calls about bailfs court costs blah blah blah.......... i decide to google and find CAG within 7 days of reading thread i found out all i need to know about my rights regarding both legal and with comlaints eg, OFT FOS. last night i prepared an email calling out all parties on their flawed polices, i went into great length about the oft rules and regulations that they were breaking so i have complained to the oft and all transcripts had been issued to them, along with numerous breaches of general law including trying to take monies from my bank account without my permission which is classed as stealing. today i receive an email from a 4th party ''payday processing loans'' in response to what i had to say, here it is Dear Mr xxxxx We are sorry to hear that you have a complaint about the service you have received. The company attempts to treat its customers fairly in all circumstances and we apologise if you believe the service you have received falls short of your expectations in any way. Please accept this email as acknowledgment of your complaint. We have 8 weeks in which to try to come to an amicable agreement. If you received it in error please notify sender immediately and then destroy it. entertaining agreed ???? you will notice numerous further breaches of the oft rules and regulations including an offer of reduced debt if i withdraw my complaint absolutely laughable. i immediately responded with yet another email calling them out and using their scare tactics against them for a change email which is as follows hi Michael thankyou for your quick response this is of great amazement to me as almost all contact i have made has been dismissed immediately. although i have no idea who ''web loans processing'' are im guessing your a part of the tooth fairy finance, northern debt recovery, marshal hoares solicitors family. your email seems sincere enough at first glance (to an uneducated person) but as read it myself i noticed yet another number of statements that once again break oft guidelines/rules and regulations, the main one being you say you are willing to reduce the outstanding debt IF i am willing to withdraw my complaint (this is a big no no tut tut) i cannot wait to update the oft with this one. although i am great full of the information and links you have attached to the email id like to make clear im well aware of all procedures surrounding FOS and OFT when making complaints including response times and time periods in which they must be dealt with. in your email you say you have removed my phone number from being contacted regarding collections yet within an hour of receiving your email i had a text message about a door visit and 4 calls all sent straight to my voicemail as i have blocked your number personally. once again breaching oft guidelines/rules/regulations. i urge you to pass the message on to your colleagues in the next office at TFF NDR and MHS to remove my contact details and respond to me via email/written form as their continuous harassment will only be logged and used in court if and when you do decide to take me. you fail to acknowledge my notification of the removal of your right to a door visit, i once again reiterate my statement that your visits are unlawful as i have clearly stated i wish to resolve the matter via email or in writing, i state again any individual/s who attend my property will be asked to leave failure to do will result in my local police authority attending and removing the individual/s. i have also received an email from NDR today in response to me requesting a copy of my original loan agreement that i electronically signed as well as proof of who actually owns the debt as i have been contacted by TFF and NDR in the last week regarding payment of the debt, this email stated only that a copy of my agreement has been sent out to me via post, so i ask you yourselves to once again send me proof of who actually owns the debt. as for your offer of reducing the debt i will make it clear once again i am not willing to pay more than the original loan fee plus one months interest equating to £272 even if you do agree to this i will not be withdrawing my complaint although i will make clear to FOS and OFT that you were very helpful in resolving the issue once i had opened the dispute with you. if however the dispute remains unresolved after the 8 week period i will not be waiting 6 months to continue with my complaint and i will begin legal proceedings myself against all bodies at TFF NDR MHS and WLP involved with all court costs and solicitors fees being reclaimed from said bodies. i once again thankyou for your hasty response and wait in anticipation for your response. yours xxxxxxxxx i cannot wait for their reply but in the mean time i would like to see what you guys think of my approach, its just im not a tool and i will not be bullied by these mugs they have gotten away with it for far too long extorting monies from individuals who are desperate but do not know what they are entering into when dealing with these creeps. ive been greatly inspired by your threads and offer great thanks for the information you have made available for us unfortunate individuals who have had to resort to these pay day loans/loan sharks
  24. Just paid them what I am due(loan +1 months interest!). They think that I am still due them over £800 in charges/interest!!! Ha ha ha they aint getting another penny off me! TAKE ME TO COURT FOR THE REST NDR/MHB!!!
  25. Hi all I have debts with Littlewoods, Next and hubby has one with Very (along with other debts such as credit cards and a store card but these are the 'catalogue' debts). We are struggling to pay any of our debt and need to make some payment arrangements. I have noted that there is a CCA request which is often used by people to see if the debt is enforceable, I am not sure when these ONLINE accounts were set up but believe it was 2007/08. Can anyone advise if we are able to take any steps in regards to CCA... Also, would you advise to CCA them anyway and see what happens?...... In either instance can we claim back all the late payment fees etc from these debts?... .I understand I would need to SAR them but after that not sure how to actually request the fees back so a little advice would be lovely please.
