  1. Ignoring the teenagers nationality, the differing perspective of the presented headlines will undoubtedly mirror the differing views on how this person and issue should be addressed. The guardian reports “I just want to get away from here,” she was quoted as saying. “I want to get away from the war, from the many weapons, from the noise.” She added: “I just want to go home to my family.” The media outlets said the teenager had told them she regretted joining Isis, wanted to be extradited to Germany and would cooperate with authorities. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/jul/24/home-linda-wenzel-german-teenager-joined-isis-speaks-of-regrets Whereas is Australia " schoolgirl turned IS bride Linda Wenzel could face trial ... after reportedly admitting to killing Iraqi soldiers after she was tracked down hiding in a tunnel "She took her mum’s credit card and flew from Berlin to Turkey before making her way to the so-called caliphate." 'An anonymous officer in Iraq’s elite counter terrorism unit told The Telegraph said she was a sniper for ISIS. He said: “We found her with a gun in her hand next to her Chechen husband, who was killed by Iraqi forces in a firefight. She said she had killed a number of our men in the battle. http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/news-life/captured-german-schoolgirl-turned-is-bride-linda-wenzel-turned-bride-could-face-trial/news-story/ec6f02d34e262d08eca341ae31831abc My opinion is on the harsh side, but in my opinion befits the crimes I'll bet she just wants to go home. Now I'm on the side that says she should be tried in Iraq and face punishment there. ANYONE who left their countries to become part of ISIS should be tried in the country they went to. Anyone who went 'to help civilians' should be able to prove they were part of MSF, the red cross, crescent cross or some other international recognised aid organisation Before anyone says ah but she's now a mother, the child is innocent: I agree, but the Mother clearly has charges to answer and if found guilty then given the circumstances the child could be in danger in her care. Whether the child is then returned to the mother, the mothers family, the fathers family, or taken into care and where, is for professionals to decide.
  2. Hello I would be grateful for any help you can give me. I joined Results Health Club when I was 17 (actually 17 and 8 months) and signed Direct Debit form from Harlands for 12 months membership for £35 per month. I was full-time student with part-time Saturday job. Usual story, after using gym on few occasions I asked at the gym if I could cancel membership. Not sure of exact date when this happened but some time in November. I was told that I had to complete 12 months contract. Struggled on to make payments, even using 18th birthday money to do this. After making 10 months payments a relative found out and looked at the paperwork. I hadn't noticed but my dob on the Harlands Direct Debit form had been amended to show that I was 18 at time of signing. Rightly or wrongly they advised me to cancel the Direct Debit immediately and I also wrote to bank telling them what had happened. Much to my surprise the bank refunded the whole £350 payments I had made. I was advised to write to Harlands informing them what had happened and that the contract was void and unenforceable. They then asked for sight of my birth certificate which I duly sent, thinking they were going to sort things out and they then wrote saying that as I had made payments after my 18th birthday I had validated the contract. Letters from CRS followed adding further charges. Total amount they say I owe is £647.36. I believe both Harlands and CRS have been attempting to contact me by telephone but I have not answered. Wrote to CRS advising them to only contact me in writing but have received a text message from them acknowledging my letter and asking me to get in touch. Also have had another telephone call from them today. Please advise what I should do now. Thank you.

  4. I'm losing the will to live with a creditor which seems intent on spewing template after template in my direction. I believe there will ultimately be 4 causes; a) charges plus restitutional damages b) dpa non compliance/damages, c) s.78 non compliance (want my quid back) d) ppi plus restitutional damages. The PPI redress period extends to mid sept, default/penalty charges.... already past the 14 days I extended it within LBA. I don't expect it to fold on any cause until I file, assuming I file for charges now is it still the case that I can effectively stay any progress until such time that it becomes necessary to file for 1,2 or 3 other causes, making app to lift stay on first cause and join the two cases? Appreciate it appears a long winded approach at first glance but the total quantum will not be in excess of 5k and I suppose I'm looking to expend minimal resources as leverage to get the sods to engage with me instead of wasting my time.

  6. my debitcard recently got refused when paying for shopping obv on a tight budget, but i knew i had money left got back home looked at my online portal found a payment called Amazon prime for £49 debited 28/1/13 at xmas i got given a £50 amazon gift card/voucher as a thank you by someone i looked back at the emails/order details when i used the giftcard on 2.12.12 it had bit right at the bottom about auto sign-up to amazon prime scheme if i did not cancel in 30days. bit cheeky. but had info to cancel membership etc straight on the website to amazon unticked and cancelled it, however gave no indication about the return of the money taken. on the phone to amazon explained the scenario operator on a very poor IP phone sounding like a dalek stated that because i had purchased previously [2011!!] and paid by the debitcard [even though that item was super saver free postage] i had enrolled myself in the prime scheme. any subsequent orders activated the prime scheme and thus the card give almost 2 yrs before was debited with the £50 [incidently the £50 item i just order was free postage too on the ad] stated i was none to pleased about this, a bit of a sharp practice after a wee bit of to'n'fro, where i was told there is nothing that can be done i needed to read the small print!! i said ok i'll goto my bank and get it back under the chargeback scheme 'we won't allow that' said the bod.. i said you've no choice, you can't just decide almost 2yrs later to debit a card without any notification. said email was sent on the 3rd jan i said no nothing received etc etc went over again how can you charge me £50 for this prime scheme about instant express postage when both the items i've had from them were FREE POSTAGE. eventually got somewhere when i said i was going to terminate the call and expose them on their twitter feed and do a chargeback. told the money had been recredited there and then. i'll wait and see if it appears if not watchout amazon..incoming!! after all that i did a quick look around and found lots of people have had this problem so if you've ever used amazon and given them your card number and then ordered again check your bank statement carefully.
