  1. Say they haven't increased their prices since 2013 and have lost nearly 400,000 customers which meant they posted a loss on their consumer business this last quarter ! I wonder why !! 2. Hello and greetings to all at CAG, I moved eight doors down the same road (upsizing) and Hastings have upped my annual premium by £131.82. When I queried this I was told that the underwriter (Advantage) take into consideration additional risk factors, such as flood risk, proximity to main roads, crime levels etc, hence the increase. I consider this increase to be out of proportion because there is no difference risk-wise to the part of the road I previously parked in. The only difference is, in fact, one letter at the end of my postcode. I feel I have
  3. Here are the current court fees which take effect from today 22nd April 2014. http://hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.uk/courtfinder/forms/ex050-eng.pdf http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?421493-Court-fees-increase-from-22nd-April-2014 http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukdsi/2015/9780111127490
  4. Hello, Sorry I know this has been covered numerous times before. I took a Cahoot FlexiLoan out in 2003 at I believe approximately 5.9% or 7.9% which then rocketed yup to 23%. I also believe that I was sold PPI with this loan. I took an initial loan out of 2500 and made my payments until 2010. I then received a letter from Moorcroft Group in 2012 collecting of this loan with interest at £4686. I have now paid the full amount off and feel that it was unfair and that ultimately due to the interest hike I was forced into Financial hardship. I defaulted in Octo
  5. More than one million customers with RBS and NatWest will soon be forced to pay up to £2 extra a month for their packaged current accounts. From January 17, customers with the bank’s Black account must pay £26 a month for their deals. Those with the bank’s Platinum account will have to fork out £1 more, totalling £16 a month. 6. Millions of people, including motorists, home owners and pet owners face seeing their insurance costs increase. The standard rate of Insurance Premium Tax - the tax paid each time an insurance policy is purchased in the UK - will increase from 6 per cent to 9.5 per cent from November 1 The ABI said the change will affect 7.3 million car policies, 4.7 million household policies, three million pet policies and three million private medical insurance policies. Any of the affected insurance policies with a start date after October 31 will have IPT charged at the new rate.
  7. The amount the government charges mobile operators to use airwaves space - known as spectrum - has risen from £64.4m to £199.6m per year. Although less than originally suggested by regulator Ofcom, the price hike is likely to infuriate operators who have previously warned higher spectrum fees could put up consumer prices. Ofcom said that operators had had plenty of time to prepare for the fee increases and should be prepared to keep consumer prices competitive. But operators have not ruled out raising prices to absorb the cost of the new fees. http://www.telegraph.c
  8. Fees for some courts could double under plans revealed by the Ministry of Justice today – the day after the House of Commons adjourned for the summer recess. Under a consultation announced by justice minister Shailesh Vara , the maximum fee for money claims would rise from £10,000 to £20,000. Fees are currently payable on 5% of the value of a claim up to a maximum fee of £10,000. Personal injury and clinical negligence claims will be excluded from the higher cap and fee remissions for those ‘of limited means’ will still apply. Fees would be introduced to the property, tax
  9. In July 2013 the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) will give MPs an enormous pay hike of more than £10,000 a year, a 15% increase on their current basic salary. When news broke that this massive pay pay hike is on the cards, the chairman of IPSA Ian Kennedy came out with an absurd and shocking justification narrative. Here's what he said: So if MP's aren't awarded more cash, they will simply steal it.
