  1. My friend is currently in hospital with depression and anorexia. She almost died. Her ex-boyfriend has done a runner from the flat they shared years ago. She has not lived at the property for over 3 years is not on the electoral register. Long story short. It seems her ex is facing a decree (ccj) for the arrears on the 12th January and because she is also named she will presumably get the same. She does not need this on top of the other trouble she is dealing with. This decree will be effectively done without her knowledge as the judge has no address for her. First question with no address to send the paper work could she get this decision recalled? How easy is it? Second question. Is it possible to prevent this from happening in the first place? Her only crime it seems was not formally removing herself from the tenancy agreement three years ago. Please help I don’t want her to attempt suicide again.

  5. There's this great girl I know, a really good friend. We get on really well.... BUT I don't fancy her at all. She's really fat, and I just don't find her attractive. Shame, but there it is... Anyway, she's recently begun dropping hints, without saying anything directly, and I suspect she's started to think of me as a potential boyfriend. I like her a lot as a friend, and have a lot of respect for her, so I really don't want to hurt her feelings or spoil our friendship. How can I let her know I'm not interested in her in that way? I don't want to tell her that I don't find her attractive because she's so fat, because even though that's the truth, it would upset her. What I'd really like is some subtle way of letting her know that I would prefer we remain friends, without having to tell her directly. Anyone got any suggestions?
  6. What a fantastically well done bit of scriptwriting and acting. So real in every way. I had to laugh at the dad who was kicked off ESA onto JSA and did a deal with the young guy to have his hand damaged by a nail gun simply to get back onto ESA and get a bit of compo in the process! Is this a common occurence - it wouldn't surprise me?
  7. Hi Guys - As well as my own case posted elsewhere under Santander, I'm trying to help a young girl aged 18 who I met through our homeless network. Said girl left home and as usual for a girl of her age, knows nothing and understands nothing except everyone else has to pay for her lifestyle. Shes on benefits and these are paid into her basic bank account. Her benefits are reduced because she has to pay back a crisis loan and other fines. (She still goes and blows what she has left in 24 hours!) She applied for a 'loan' through some kind of 'club' which charged an 'advance fee' as a kind of membership charge. The Direct debit was paid the first month and then it bounced and before we know it, she has o/d charges being levied daily. Any ideas please? Apart from being ripped off, she needs these o/d charges stopped asap. I guess we could issue an LBA and N1 for the refund of the fees for the 'loan service' ?? As far as bank fees - I've totally lost touch with current status even though I've trawled through the forums. Are we currently on CCA and anything else? Unfair terms and conditions? With a forced overdraft on a basic account, is this regarded as a 'loan' and is it covered by CCA. Any ideas of direction would be useful Thanks
