  1. Hi there - Im after some advice if anyone can help. My sister-in-law has been accused of benefit and housing fraud and was due to have a Tribunal Hearing today. Her solicitor was confident that she would be found not guilty as the DPW have no real evidence and are just trying their luck (she isnt guilty of what they are accusing her of). She turned up at the Hearing to be told that the Tribunal will not be going ahead as the DWP wish for it to go to Crown Court instead. We were under the impression that the Tribunal were independent and would allow the hearing to go ahead but were persuaded to vacate today's hearing?? She now has to go to Court at the end of the month to enter a plea - anyone know why this is and why they would not allow the Tribunal. Thanks.
