  3. Action Fraud has issued a warning about [problem] emails claiming to be from the Crown Prosecution Service doing the rounds. These messages state that you have to appear in court and instruct you to click on a link to view your start time/case details. Action Fraud says clicking on the link is likely to lead to malware infecting your device. However, the CPS says it would ‘never email witnesses in order to summons them to court.’ https://www.lovemoney.com/news/56317/is-this-court-summons-crown-prosecution-service-email-a-[problem] -emails-oct16"]http://www.cps.gov.uk/news/latest_news/alert_-_fake_witness_summons_emails/
  4. Hi Hope someone can help with my query. Some weeks back I received 2 notices of enforcement via post re Council tax liabilities sent from a bailiff. However, I disagreed with the figures as they did not correspond with an email I had been sent by the Council earlier in the year. I decided to respond by emailing the council 2 weeks ago to dispute both bills saying that I was disputing the sums owed and that I wanted them to take back the debts as I would not deal with the bailiff. I wanted to deal with the Council directly. Today, via email, I received notification from the bailiff that they would be sending someone to my property with the Intention of Taking Control of my Goods. The only people who could have informed the bailiff of my email address was the Council. I consider this intrusion via social media to be harassment considering the council have failed to acknowledge my email and given the bailiff my email address. Can I report this episode to the police, and given that I have some health problems, be considered vulnerable (I have the proof to back up my claim). I consider it a gross intrusion to contact someone via email and, given that I have made an effort to sort this out, someone is not listening. Any advice on next steps appreciated. Whilst writing, what are the true costs of Liability Orders? Many thanks.
  5. Hello all, Wednesday 14th September 2016 On Wednesday 14th September 2016, I arranged for http://www.powerflush365.co.uk to carry out a power flush of my central heating system, (no heating just hot water), the work duly carried out, on completion of work, time to pay him for the service I requested an invoice for proof of work carried out. He said that he was going to email me the invoice and some sort of certificate for insurance purposes, I then gave him my email address, he wrote it his diary so I handed over the agreed sum and he left. After he left, I realised that I had given him the wrong email address, so I sent a text with the alternate email address and also sent an email message to [email protected] explaining with the alternate email address. He has left me with my system is not working (no heating or hot water) as he explained to me that I had to purchase a new plate to plate heat exchanger as the power flush did not clear the metal particles inside it, he also promised to return and fit the new heat exchanger at a reasonable price, all I had to do is inform him when it arrives and arrange a day to fit it. Thursday 15th September 2016 So far I have no response from Powerflush, either from the text or email, I have not tried to phone him yes as he took my mobile number and keyed it into his mobile. 09:00 called Powerflush – went to voice-mail. My question is: Am I legally entitled to an invoice proof of work carried out and proof of payment?

If so, can you pleaserovide the name of the website? 4. Did you tell us that you were experiencing financial hardship? If so,when? 5. Copy ho banks statements from roughly time of loans 6. 8. BT has more than tripled charges for former broadband customers who hold on to their email address. Its Premium Mail is free for people who pay for BT broadband, but costs £1.60 a month for those with other providers — until this month From 6th April, the monthly fee rose to £5, or £60 a year. 9. Hi, I received an email from my work coach asking me to attend a job fair on 20th of April 2016, I received this email at 4pm on the 19th but did not know of the email til today at 3pm giving me no time to attend. Should I be worried about sanctions as I think this is unfair as if it was so important why did they not phone me as I have given them permission to phone about important matters. I see my work coach tomorrow morning and would like some advice on what to say because I feel this is some kind of tricky tactic to apply a sanction or am I paranoid? Thanks
  10. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is warning taxpayers to be on their guard against fraudulent phishing emails, after almost 75,000 fake emails were reported over the last six months. The emails promise you a tax refund, and often ask for your name, address, date of birth, bank and credit card details – including passwords and your mother’s maiden name. If you provide the information, money may be stolen from your bank account and your details sold on to other criminal gangs, which can lead to identity theft. If you are due for a tax refund, HMRC never contacts you by email – they always send a letter through the post. If you get an email which claims to be from HMRC, and which offers you a tax refund, you should send it to [email protected] and then permanently delete it. http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/news/whats_new_oct14_tax_refund_email_[problem]s.htm

  14. A debt collection agency has sent an email regarding an unpaid payday loan to a generic work email address ([email protected]) - I am a director of the company but these emails do not go to me, so have now probably been read by quite a few members of my staff before someone forwarded it to me, The email contains my personal details, as well as details of the outstanding amount £985 (the loan was £100!) - surely they cannot send details of all this to a generic email address at my company?! Anybody got any ideas how I should deal with this please?

  20. Hi all, I ran into an interesting situation today that I'd like some help with. An email address of mine is associated with both my Ebay account and my Facebook account. Yesterday I purchased goods from a company via Ebay who have today used my email address to look for me and 'friend' me on Facebook. I don't wish to sound like I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill but in my view they've used my email address in a manner other than intended. Are they doing anything wrong? I suspect not, at least legally, but I don't think it's acceptable.

  22. As the topic asks Do we have the email address of the BT executive Complaints, not the normal phone drones. I did have Ian Livingston but i do not think he is with BT any more Thanks
  23. My Sister booked a flight on 11 July to fly out on tues 28th july and return on tuesday 11th aug. She fortuitously took a picture of the booking confirmation screen that came up after she paid. But when the conf email arrived (which she did not check) it was for return on the 12th Aug Unfortunately she only discovered this at the airport on the 11th aug when she tried to check in for her return flight.. So flybe being what they are I feel that even if she had checked on the day of booking and discovered this error they would have fobbed her off anyway. The T&C's are no changes after booking. So how to sort this out. I believe she is due compensation or something, she had the screenshot saved and used it as her flight ref to check in, and to organise all her taxis transport etc. I can see why she did not feel the need to check the confirmation email.
  24. Trying to get Experian to update my new address is like pulling teeth, even by phone. They always default to get you to sign that dam Credit Expert subscription at £15.00 a month. After threatening them with everything from CPUTR 2008, Data Protection Act 1998 etc due to their inertia in a simple request such as updating my new address as the previous info that have is inaccurate, I get this out of them for which you can then change your address details. You can order a Statutory Report for £2.00 and view it on line anything up to 5 days time via Email from original application. Just use this Web Address: http://www.experian.co.uk/consumer/statutory-report.html?intcmp=call_centre_statutory_report#orderReport
  25.
