  3. Got PCN at hospital in NI. Ticket says no valid disabled badge on display. Disabled badge was on display and was visible in my opinion, though which side was up I couldn't say due to extreme stress. The badge belonged to registered owner who was in hospital and who in fact passed away a few hours after the ticket was put on the windscreen. The registered owner was not the driver but there was a key family member who was a passenger with mobility difficulties and so one of the disabled bay spaces was used. This is brutal and I am wondering how to address this as quick
  4. Hi there, Can anyone kindly advise - Parking Charge of £100 received for not displaying BB in Disabled Space, at night in a large Retail Park from UKPC. I don't have a BB and I'm not disabled. I didn't see any signs for UKPC in that area and it was very dark - I only saw them afterward driving home once I had received the ticket. I took a photo to demonstrate that there were no signs in front of the car. Should I just ignore this. Or should I contact UKPC to say that I wish to contest this. I parked there because it was late at night and the car park w
  5. Hi all, I wonder if you can help me. My partner and I had to rush our son into queens hospital on 02.02.17 on doctors advice as he had quite a severe reaction to antibiotics and needed to see a Paeds speciality doctor. we arrived at the hospital and found there were no disabled spaces outside - infact there were no spaces outside available at all initally. We drove around past A&E towards the Maternity car park where someone was leaving a space - which are marked as normal bays. We have parked in these spaces before and asked site security (actual queens se
  6. Can any one explain the LTI2020 laser speeding gun display. I have a photo provided of my vehicle and the display shows the normal date / time / officer ref / speed / distance but under this there are four numbers 01:17:18:18 These are displayed as I've typed them and under the main information shown in the photo. I can't seem to find anywhere what these relate to. Any info appreciated. rgds
  7. Hello, first post here having read through other threads. I received a FCN from Napier after parking at Willen Lake, i bought a ticket and it appeared to have blown off my dash into the footwell of my car. I returned to my car to find an FCN on the windscreen asking for payment of £80 or a reduced charge of £45 if paid within 14 days. I appealed to Napier through their online procedure explaining this situation and attaching a picture of my ticket. However they responded with a letter attached to an email stating that because i failed to ensure the ticket was di
  8. Does a car dealer have to display the price at which he or she is selling a particular vehicle for ?
  9. Hi. I bought an ex-display bath from a local bathroom shop a few years ago because i knew i needed one soon and as it was ex-display it was a fraction of the price of a new one. It was sold as seen and it looked fine. I've had it in my garage for over two years now that i've come to install it i've noticed that it has started to go yellow. It should be white. The retailer says that it was sold as seen and as an ex-display bath it isn't covered by the long guarantee that a new bath comes with. He says that the bath has been on display in the shop for years as we
  10. The Government has announced plans to put an end to anonymous phone calls from British companies in the UK or based overseas. Telemarketers will be forced to display a valid phone number when they make phone calls - or face heavy fines in a new crackdown on nuisance calls. The welcome change to the law means it will be a legal requirement for direct marketing callers to show a valid caller identity that shows up on phone displays when they call. The changes make it easier for people to report any company that makes unwanted calls. http://www.which.co.uk/news/2016/01/col
  11. I have received a 'fine' from excel parking. This is the final reminder, I ignored the first one as i paid for the parking on the day. I know the pay and display was paid as i had a right old moan when i discovered the parking next door was cheaper! Any advice on what to do now?
  12. hello everyone, my brother went for shopping this morning on my car and park in local shopping car park which is provided by local authority with 30 mins free parking. There are pay and displays machines, so everyone who want to park there for 30 mints or less, can press the button and machine will issue a ticket for 30 mins free parking. my brother dont bother to press the button to get the free parking ticket so he got a PCN. my question , is there any chance to get rid of this PCN by saying that the car park is free for 30 Mints, he only went to shop for three mints and he
  13. Do you have a BT line rental which you pay annually in advance? As part of the deal the caller display service is free, but BT have still been been charging many customers £1.75 a month. Some customers who complained have been received a full refund, others have been refused. Cue weasel words from BT who claim that the customer has to request the free service not just once, but each year. In other words, if you don't ask for the free service, even if you're eligible for it, you won't get it. Shame on you BT. http://www.independent.co.uk/money/spend-save/simon-re
  14. My wife entered a private pay and display car park in Blackpool, and drove around looking for a free space. After about 20 mins of waiting for a space to come free, she gave up and drove out. Some time later we received a parking fine for £100 (£60 if paid in 14 days). Their evidence was a photo of the car entering the carpark and leaving 21mins later. We obviously felt this entirely unjust as she never actually parked! We apealed in the first instance directly to Parking Eye, who rejected it and said we should appeal to POPLA if we wanted to take it further, which we did. We h
  15. Hi, We have a residential parking area which is policed by wardens quite regularly. I have had a valid permit since the inception of this policy. I ndeed we were 1 of the original members of the meeting when this was being planned and took part in all discussions when decisions were being made. Monday morning a week ago, a neighbour knocked drawing our attention to the fact that my car had a PCN on windscreen, for 'not clearly displaying said permit'. As mentioned, current permit is valid and always has been. What had happened is on Sunday afternoon
  16. Can anyone explain what signs are required on pay and Display car parks. Are there any rules regarding size of lettering/colour of background etc? Is there precise legislation I can refer to?
  17. I wanted to buy some garden furniture at B&Q but was told that the item was out of stock and could not be given a date for new stock to arrive, when I asked about buying the item on display I was told that it could not be sold. Can I demand that the item be sold to me ?
  18. My wife and I went to the PC World/ Currys store in Brentford to look at purchasing a new dish washer, when she opened the door on one of the integrated appliances the fascia fell off on to her foot. The first member of staff simply stated he wasn't qualified to deal with it and walked off with very little concern, the asst manager came over and looked vague as to how to deal with it having to be prompted for a duty first aider which he stated they don't have in store. When asked for a cold compress he returned with a pack of frozen chips and was concerned about putting them into a
  19. got a PCN a couple of months back, having parked in a council car park to go to the cinema, a gust of wind must of blown my ticket of the dash when closing the door. Sent a appeal as soon as to the council with the original ticket (i took photos for myself) which was rejected, I had to laugh as they sent a picture of the dash of the car, which had about 8 other pay and display tickets on, (Lazy moi?) I would like them to prove that it wasn't displayed in the picture! my partner has been in hospital and ive only just got round to dealing with this again
  20. Seven companies have agreed to clearly display delivery and booking fees following a Which? campaign Seven online ticket companies have pledged to display all compulsory charges like delivery and booking fees at the start of the booking process following a Which? campaign. BH Live Tickets, See Tickets, ATG Tickets, Ticketmaster, Stargreen, Ticket Soup and Ticket Web have agreed to display their costs upfront, making it easier for customers to compare prices between different companies. One of the biggest, See Tickets, has put the changes into practi
  21. Dear Techies, I am having this problem as stated above. I have a Pavilion dv7 Envy Series Laptop that came with Windows 7 Home Edition. I have since upgraded it to Ultimate Edition and downloaded any Microsoft update required. Trouble now is, I get these two errors above and this then more or less freezes the PC and the display all goes funny. I simply do not have any choice but to hard reboot the PC and after about 10 - 30 minutes both erros come up again Displayed on the screen. Then I am unable do nothting with the Laptop but to reboot the laptop even a shutdown simply fails excep
  22. Hi, I have recently been sent a Final Notice to owner/keeper/hirer under Railway Byelaw 14. The car park in question has a new feature, that you can book and pay for your ticket online, I had been doing a combination of this for the past few weeks, I had to run for the train to make it, and was trying to regulate my breathing, and stop sweating before I bought my ticket, I purchased a book of 10 tickets which I still have 4 unused, the email I received with them stated that they were not valid on that date, so I attempted to purchase an additional ticket, however, I was unable to do this due
  23. Hi, I recently parked in a Disabled Parking Bay policed by my local Council , Maidstone. I like many others hide the Blue Badge to prevent theft and so must remember to get it from its hiding place. On this occasion I forget as I had just received a disturbing letter and went to discuss this with Citizens Advice. When I returned to my car a Fixed Penalty Notice fpn had been issued for failing to display the Blue Badge. Although I showed the Council that I had a valid badge, the fine remains payable. What I would like to know is the actual Offence and under which piece of legislation
  24. Does a local authority providing a pay and display car park, have to abide by consumer law with regard to signs displaying conditions and regulations ?..A car park in Chester has no sign at entrance, The pay and display machine lists 6 contraventions that "may" incurr a penalty, then states ring 0300.......... for a full list of terms and conditions.
  25. I recieved a parking ticket today whilst displaying a pay and display ticket. I had drove along the road (Arley Hill, Cotham Bristol- new residents parking scheme set up nov 2012) looking for a space and noticed a bay opposite the pay and display meter, I parked, paid my money and merrily went on my way however on returning to my car I noticed the dredded yellow ticket, stating contravention 16 : parked in a permit space without displaying a valid permit. I had mistakenly parked in the sole residents parking bays (between 9-5) instead of the dual use bays.
