  1. I realise that there are similarities with other re-claim exercises but do we, or will we, have any templates in the library to cover these later 'mis-sells'?
  2. Hi I'm a bit confused with the situation I am in at the moment.. December 2012 , I had sued an ex Landlord for property that had been taken by him. the judge decided that I owed him £1200 rent arrears and he owed me £500 + a fridge freezer returned I chose to have my £500 taken off the £1200 rent arrears thus the outstanding £800 as what I owed as part of the CCJ the judgement was I pay £100 per month to the other party for 8 months I can not afford this and stupidly agreed in court to it, I dont know why if I am honest. I receive £67 per week and bills/household essentials & food/child costs leave me with £15 per week remaining typically. so per month I have approx £60 left after outgoings. 2 months ago I received notice of writ Fieri facias, called around could find out NOTHING and nobody could help, seriously nobody even the court had no idea.. so I gave up. I had a letter through the door Friday from a bailiff demanding £1243.43 by Today ( Sunday 23rd June ) Immediately I downloaded & took in to court a N245 form & got a receipt from the desk. I offered a monthly payment of £40 I am obviously concerned about what happens next. can the bailiff return now the N245 has been submitted? do I get a letter confirming the outcome of that N245? thanks everyone.
  3. Hi all, could anyone here advise me regarding hmrc.to cut along strory short in 2011 i wanted to go self employed and registerd online.Only to find that after registering 2 days later my source of funding had let me down.Anway i then contacted hmrc by phone and spoke to a lady regarding my problems with funding ect.And explained i wasnt going to go self employed. She advised me that i needed to wright a letter explaining but it had been logged on there system.Since then i keept recieving letters stating late payments for not filling a tax return in.So i sent a cover letter back to them and got into a game of letter tennis. After a while the letters stopped for a while (around 4-6 wks) so i thought they had finaly got the message. But thren i recieved a letter from a dca and then the phone calls started.so i rang back and explained my side of the story.the bloke who answerd said am i putting it into dispute.so i made myself clear yes i am doing.bearing in mind it is now 2013.i recieved a call today from a nice sounding lady saying she had some good news for me.And continued to say hmrc have called and i only owe them £20.95 after they have reviewed my problem.now what i would like to know is after all the stress and playing tennis letters ect do i have grounds for compensation in a county court at all.or is this something everyone has to put up with in life.Any help would be appreciated.
  4. So a really long story but here is the shortened version, yesterday was my last day at my former employer, when I resigned from my position I had told them I was resigning on the basis of lack of support and ill health (the job was making me very stressed, depressed and I had anxiety attacks). I did not go into details about my health problems I was vague about my reasons. On my resignation I informed them I did not have another job to go to. About two weeks later I got called by a recruitment agency to say there was a great opportunity at a good firm and they would like to interview. I was still working my notice period, and took the time off as annual leave to attend the first and second interview. I was offered the job and accepted. I at this point did not think it necessary to tell my employer because I had already handed in my notice and was simply working my notice period. The company that offered me the job then wrote to employer asking for references. I got called into the meeting room and she basically called me a liar and told be I had been dishonest about my reasons for leaving, she even brought up the fact I was a christian and I had lied. I explained to her at the time of resigning my reasons were the truth and the job offer was unexpected and after I resigned. I have to repay my study fees and I last week asked if I could repay these over a 4 month period which she agreed to, in the meeting yesterday she told me that agreement was null and void and she expected all her money on her desk on monday and said that even at the point of agreeing the repayment of my fees I did not tell them. She kept calling me a liar and told me that she could report me to the regulatory body for the financial services for dishonesty and I could be struck off and not be able to practice. She then asked me to leave her office which I did went upstairs to another meeting room and spoke to a colleague as I was upset about the whole situation, she came in and told me to leave the premises. I picked up my stuff and left. What I would like to know, was I in the wrong for not telling them about the job? Bearing in mind, I received the invitation to interview after I resigned and therefore accepting the job offer after. does it make me a liar, therefore questioning my character? I am not sure if she will refuse to give a reference or not, should I let my new employer know that she may or may not give me a reference? Does she have any grounds for getting me struck off? and therefore ruining my career? Where do I stand? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
