  1. My HB has been suspeneded i rang them up to find out why and they told me its because they want an address from my ex partner, how the hell am i ment to get his address when we don't even speak to each other anymore and if we did he would not tell me anyway!!! is there anything i can do?? i am getting income support every two weeks and i am already behind on my rent, i have had enough of all this what do they expect me to do!!! Can anyone help me please
  2. Hi. Have had marston at the door today. Not let them in. Not even my property, I rent a room. The landlady saw them and let me know they were outside. They said it was for non payment of fines, my fault entirely but have added on almost £300! They came I think sometime very early in the year and put a letter through the letter box. I did ring the courts back then I but they said to go through them. Me being the kind of person to bury their head in the sand left it. They are saying they can gain entry ( but not my property ) and take goods? Surely they have to know who's goods they are? Also showed them only part of my rental agreement and as it says nothing about just a room they can view the lot? That cannot be right? Only my room surely? I got through to their office and the unhelpful woman said I cannot pay by installments. BUT out of the blue the guy at the door also said there is another fine they had let him know about and I CAN pay that one by installments. My landlady called the police but they have not turned up yet. I have no cash or good to sell to pay the fine off at all. I do work and own a crappy car to get me there and back and pick up the kids from their mums and that is all. What can I do? Land lady is in bits, saying I have to move out after xmas, scared they will break in to her house, I'm in no real fit state to deal with confrontation at times other than shouting etc which is no real good to anyone. Any advice is good
  3. Been burgled by six masked robbers who came armed with taser guns and CS gas and now claim has been rejected due to no force of entry. They tried to kick down upvc kitchen door but they did not acheive this so they came in throught the patio door which we never use and they picked the lock as there is no sign of force of entry. These guys were proffessionals and now the insurance company have rejected the claim after reading police report that there was no sign of force entry. Is there a body i can write to to who can help me with this claim as its just so unfair.
  4. Govan Law Centre have found that some people have been charged legal fees more than once, and offer advice on how to claim them back. http://expensesback.weebly.com/index.html
  5. Oh my god, Ive been overpaid in Local Housing Allowance by 2 months. This totals to just under £400. I completely forgot to tell them that I moved out of the property. Because of the stress I've been under since that date, with my mum having cancer treatment etc. It has just completely slipped my mind to tell them. Oh god, am I going to jail? I'll repay it all. I'm 22 and I don't even have a criminal record, never been arrested... Oh god. I could cry right now. Its a joint claim, but Im the one that deals with all the paperwork so my partner probably just assumed that I had cancelled it because he hasnt mentioned it.
  6. Hi I was asked to leave my employment in July after one month. To date I have still not received a payslip or P45 from them, despite repeated requests. I have contacted HMRC and as they never submitted the P46 I completed they are unable to assist me any further. ACAS are unable to assist as it isn't a tax matter. Any further advice?
  7. I have just had an a bailiff from Rossendales round who wanted to seize a vehicle on my drive. The vehicle is a 11 year old vauxhall Astra with body damage, no tax and SORN'd. Maybe worth about 200 quid if lucky. The Notice of Distress merely describes the car and puts the fees as: Client debt and costs outstanding: 415.31 Walking Possession: 38.00 Other: 130.00 I called the police as I did not feel safe and they suggested paying the bailiff £300.00 which I did and he wants the balance on Friday. He also wants to make an arrangement for £100.00 a month after. I have already been paying £100.00 a month directly to the Council who whilst did not confirm the arragngement but accepted the money each month. This was on top of the regular payment which is made on time. The bailiff said that he would charge £70.00 for a further 20 mins waiting told him that was rubbish. Cops came along and sided with the bailiff, the police had no idea on bailiff law and I quoted national standards on vulnerability because I am unemployed and my mum is disabled. He just said that if I did not pay the council tax to the bailiff then I would go to prison for three months. I knew he was talking rubbish because I have been paying it, but did not want to aggravate the situation further. I rang the council who said that I had to pay the bailiffs and told them I was unemployed and mum was disabled, they refused to recall the balances from rossendales and insist I have to pay them. Questions are do I have to pay the fees that the bailiff has charged? What legislation can I use against the council to force them to take the balance back from them? Should I complain about the police who attended as they did not remain impartial, they said they were there to prevent a breach of the peace?
  8. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on something. My daughter is 17 years old and a full time student studying for A levels. Up until this weekend she has been working for a small restaurant at weekends and on the odd day during the week. She has been paid always cash in her hand averaging £40 to £80 a week. On Friday i had a massive argument with her employer when i found out that they have been putting her behind the bar, shes worked 10 hour shifts with no breaks and they keep her tips. My daughter has never been asked to give her national insurance number and never had a wage slip. Today we received a "signed for" letter in the post saying that she isn't sacked but due to my "outburst" it would be impossible for her to come back. They have asked for her uniform back and have now asked for her national insurance number. I'm really annoyed and want to blow the lid on them for child exploitation but i dont want my daughter to get into any trouble over the national insurance matter. My question is "who is liable and at fault, my daughter or her former employer?" Any advice would be really appreciated as im not sure where to go on this matter! Thank you
  9. Hi all. I am new to this forum and thank god for the forum very good. I would like some help, I used to have a Paypal account I closed the account got a call from PayPal telling me I had a negative balance due to customer charge back of a high sum of money. around about 3 months after I closed the account. I had a charge back from a customer saying they have not had the goods e.g. done a charge back via their credit card. As the customer collected the item and paid in cash I got them to sign a receipt of proof. However as tried to log back in after few months of closing my account to what I could not so I asked my wife just to make the payment to clear this trouble what she done, however Paypal are still stating I owe the money even though my wife paid it to the sum of £1000, They are still saying I owe them £1000 despite paying from my wife's account? I have spoke to the police and got a crime reference number however the debt collectors seem to treat me as the criminal. So I stand to loose another £1000 even though my wife paid from her own account? I asked Paypal to check and their response was how do we know that was the intention for the lady to pay for the goods. With the police involved can they check my wifes account and the customer who claims not to had it, to see the customer in fact did receive the money from another PayPal account? - So this is classed as fraud? - Can the police contact the customer and ask this to be confirmed e.g. they had got the money back from another PayPal account etc? I have spoken to a few fellow directors who run my company and there advice is to let them take you to court. Although I have been told it will just get passed back and very rare do they take clients to court? Feels like paypal is a bully even though the debt has been paid but because its in my name is still counts on me? Please help? P.S sorry for any spelling mistakes I know my spelling and grammer is bad.
  10. I was out of work for 3 months in the last tax year. I have been told that I am not entitled to a refund. I thought that if some one was out of work for a period of time in a tax year, they were entitled to a tax refund. Thanks

It will soon be time to forward the complaint to the OFT.
  14. Hi, as I expected I was dismissed this week from my job due to being ill for a considerable time, also they cannot provide me with alternative work that I could do. What I wanted to know is as I am on ESA(support group) will the back holiday pay and pay in lue of notice affect my benefit, do I have to tell them I have received this? Most of it will be from holiday pay from last year when I was on SSP not ESA.
  15. Hi, i work as a checkout operator in [edited to preserve anonimity] supermarket. My story is about not getting break, forcing to finish early, and been accused for something that i was not responsible. I got total 2 shifts for 8 and half hours this week-- one is 4 and half and other one is 4 hours. Yesterday 03/08/12 i went to do my normal shift according to my roster which was 4 and half hours (10am to 2:30pm). When you work more than 4 hours in checkout you get a 15 minutes break. We have a right to ask our break if we see we r not getting it. But it mainly depends on service manager as it is only her duty to deal with this and manage the day roster too. So i started at 10am and was waiting for getting my break. But till 2pm there was not any break. At that time i was thinking may be my shift was 4 hours today and tomorrow's shift would be 4 and half. At 2pm she came to my checkout and sign me off placing the close sign in my checkout saying she needs to talk with me. At fast i thought i was going to get the break. But she talked about some other things. i have become confused when she told me to start work again. i said to her i am finishing now as I my shift was for 4 hours. she said no, you are finishing at 2:30pm. i asked her straight away-than why am not getting my break yet? She went back to service desk to check it and came back saying yes that i am finishing at 2pm. but that time i have become totally confused and having doubt on her behavior. it was so clear on her face that she was hiding something. So i closed off my register and walked toward the service desk to see the day roster. i could not able to see that because she managed to be there before me and flipped the day roster page quickly and informed me my next day shift. i came back later when she was not around and what i found was shocking. She rewrote my shift making finishing time 2:30pm to 2pm only because she tried to hide it that she forgot to give me the break. How could a manager do this type of offence? But I managed myself to be calm and when she came back I asked her politely that am I getting that half hours pay as I was rostered for it. She started to accuse me it was my fault, I asked her to finish 2pm and I am always confused about my shift. I informed my store manager straight away. He was so sympathetic about this but told me not try to contract anyone else or call head office or call to the Union as he would do whatever possible. He gave me patronage every way that he would deal with it. I went back today 04/08/12 and came to know he went for holydays from today and will return two weeks later. I am feeling divested that his all patronages were a false act. Only because my background is not English he dared to do this and the service manager as well. i have talked with the union today. they will contract me coming Monday.
  16. We bought a car from a dealer on the 27th May this year. It has just had it's MOT and failed dismally. It has been deemed dangerous to drive and the cost of getting it roadworthy is over £1000. These are things that would have been wrong with the car when we bought it. As most of the issues can only been seen from underneath the car we were obviously not aware of them. Also, the rear brake is so dangerous that the car should never have been on the road. It also needs some welding work as it is so corroded near the suspension that it could have given way at any time. The other issues are minor compared to these two. I called the dealer who said that because the car was bought for less than £1000 it's not his problem. He said that we took the car on a test drive and were happy. If you can call a 200ft drive a test, then yes, we did. We could not take the car on to the main road as it had no tax and no insurance. So, in effect, we didn't test drive it at all. Just to the end of his drive at the garage and back again. I'm so angry. I spent hard earned money on a car that is dangerous. I have a young child and knowing that it could have given way at any time is a scary thought. I have resigned myself to scrapping the car but I'm just wondering, should I report him to TS or anything like that? Have I really got no rights to demand he put the car right (after all, it was sold unfit for purpose). Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Hi there I am looking for some advice. Back in February, I was contacted by a company called Click On Marketing Solutions who said they could promote my new business on Google to create extra traffic to my website. I had just set up my own Childminding business and was seeking new customers so this seemed like a good idea. I paid the fee and they would promote my website for 30 days. I could stop and start the 30 days when i wanted. Use a few days here and there etc. I eventually got some customers so I decided to stop my days and start them up again coming upto the school hols. They phoned me a few weeks ago asking if I wanted to continue as I had 15 days left so I agreed. I then checked my bank account yesterday and on 24th July they had debited me for £118.30. I phoned them straight away as I only signed up for the 30 days. It was not explained to me in the initial phone call that I would be debited once I had used all my days. I spoke to an advisor who advised yesterday that I am supposed to cancel my subscription by giving 30 days notice or I will be debited each month. Now none of this was explained to me when I signed up. He said that he emailed me the t & cs when I signed up which he didn't. So initially I paid for 30 days advertising when I signed up so if I have to give 30 days notice to cancel then I would lose any remainding days I had left which I have paid for? I have cancelled this yesterday but he says I will more than likely be debited again next month as I have not given 30 days notice. I cannot afford to pay this. I feel like I have been misold this as none of this was explained to me from the start. I have emailed the bloke I spoke to twice yesterday and he has not replied to my emails. He is quick enough to call me when he wants my money but when I have a complaint he doesn't want to know. Please help me as this debit has now put us in the red. I hope I have explained myself well enough, it is all very confusing. Their website is [edit] Many thanks

  20. News as at 5th.July suggests it could be next week before all issues are resolved. There are many reports of failed direct debits and some being duplicated.
  21. I got caught for speeding & received an SP30. I sent off my 'old-style' pink paper driving license and details for payment (plus a covering letter explaining I’d been in hospital and moved house and that was the reason for my delay in returning my details). Today I received my driving license and my letter back. The £60 has been taken from my account but my license hasn’t been updated with the 3 points. Will these come at a later date? (or have I been lucky?)
