About Me

  1. I am dealing with Vanquis and some other issues on behalf of a relative. We sent them a signed letter from her, giving me full authority to deal with them on her behalf. We received a "response" today - demanding I fill in their own little form, and supply a photocopy of my driving licence or passport. On reading the rest of the form, despite me only dealing with the relations issues on her behalf, signing this form will give them the right to access MY credit files, and other databases, and to communicate my details to 3rd parties. Is all this Normal, or are they taking the mic
  2. The FSA has issued new rules to ensure that customers are not missold a packaged bank account. The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is clamping down on how packaged bank accounts are sold to prevent customers from “throwing money down the drain”. Packaged accounts, where customers pay a monthly fee for their account in return for freebies and perks, are big money spinners for banks. Extras thrown in alongside a current account typically include travel insurance, breakdown cover, mobile phone insurance and discounts on overdraft fees. But fees for such perks can cost up to £300 ye
  3. Hi all, Wondering if anyone can help. I had approx £500.00 of CPA's go out of my account during 2009-2011. None of these payments were ever authorised by me, my ex partner used my debit card to sign up to 2 dating sites and they kept taking a weekly or monthly fee out of my account despite me trying to cancel with my bank and with the compaies concerned. I didn't know anything about the payments until money started disappearing from my account and bank charges for returned direct debits started happening - due to not having funds available as they had been taken by these CPA's!
  4. Last week the services on my local line (C2C) were disrupted by a fatality (allegedly someone stealing overhead lines). All trains were stopped for approx 4 hours and a bus replacement service was laid on but most people (including me) opted to use the nearby Greater Anglia line intsead going to London Liverpool Street instead of C2C's London Fenchurch Street. Annoiucements were made at stations and on the C2C website that tickets would be valid. Now I kept an eye on the C2C website during the day and in the afternnon it siad if you had used the Greater Anglia line in the morning you

  6. The short story is that the head of recovery for council tax for my LA agreed verbally face to face with me at their office that the monthly payments we have been making to cover our arrears could carry on at the agreed rate until the arrears were paid off while paying on top for this years tax. We missed a payment from this years tax through my wife's student loan being late, and as such we have been taken to court for both this years tax adding £100 for the privilege, but also took me to court for the outstanding debt, although I hadn't missed any payments on that, and yes you've guessed
