  1. hi just come home to a parking charge notice from SMARTPARKING it shows a picture of my car entering at 14.53 and leaving at 21.38 that's 8 hours ! i did shop their at the 1st time i usually do after work but how can i convince them i left and came back again i cant find a receipt
  2. I ordered a laptoip from Asda Direct on a next day delivery, had the order confirmation and despatch emails. the laptop got as far as the Yodel distridution centre and then disappeared. They have searched the distribution centre and cannot find the laptop. I want Asda to send a replacement but they are insisting they have to refund me and then I have to reorder, but this means my card cannot be used until the refund has processed which can take up to a week. Any advice on what my legal rights are? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi All, Hoping someone can help or offer advice as really not sure what to do! I parked in Asda's "free" car park in Biggleswade on 15th Dec but overstayed the 2 hours allowed by twenty minutes as it was manic in the shop due to everyone out christmas shopping! I have now received a letter from Town and City parking Ltd called a parking charge notice which shows camera images of the vehicle entering and leaving the site which are time and date stamped. The "charge" is for £70.00 and reduced to £40.00 if payed within 14 days. My partner is the registerd keeper but it was me driving on the day? Am i right in thinking there was a new law that came out recently that made the registerd keeper liable? Should my partner admit that it wasnt her driving and give them my details? Should I pay or just ignore the whole thing as so many people have said on the forum before its just Im worried the new law may catch up with me. I went in to the store today to complain to the manager who said there is nothing she can do and was very unhelpful. I really want to ignore as this makes me very angry to think that we as a family spend thousands and thousands of pounds in this store scince it opened.
  4. We have used Asda as our main shopping store since what seems like fore ever. The past couple of years we have used the on line store to get the bulky and heavy thing and generally spend in excess of £100 each time. I have noticed over the past few shops that the quality of the goods has dropped in that they are disposing of their goods that have very limited Sell By Date left. For instance, the last shop had a pork pie with only 14 hours left before the Best Before expired. I have complained and they have changed the goods, I have complained to the CEO and all they did was offer me the cost of those items back. I don't want money, I want fresh goods, how the hell am I supposed to consume all of these fresh/chilled goods within 24 hours? A couple of months ago, the oranges arrived rotten, not just a spot, this was over at least half of the orange so in no way could have been missed by the packer, it had to have been done on purpose. I didn't even get an apology, just a man in a van with 3 oranges to replace the rotten ones. Maybe this is only the Plymouth store that does it. I was assured that this wasn't company policy, so tell the stores then and stop sending out stuff you will have to ditch the next day. I think I've given them enough chances, and it's time to try someone else. It won't be Tesco though, the quality of their food is disgusting, made as cheap as possible and not fit for rats, so Sainsburys it is.
  5. Have been with Asda Mobile since 2009 with no problems. Just over two weeks ago I started receiving text messages from Asda Mobile regarding set up details for Internet and picture messaging. Over the past few days I have had over forty messages. It makes no difference if I accept the settings or not. I have contacted their customer services.... nine people in all. Some advisors have confirmed the sending of set up texts has been disabled.... no effect they still keep on coming. Other advisors have said they cannot stop the text messages and claimed I have a fault with my sim card. Another sim card tried, again still the same problem. I was then asked to reset my phone with no effect. Next they said my phone was faulty and I should return to my supplier. I tried another mobile phone with my sim card and once again the texts are still arriving. I believe the problem is caused by changes Asda Mobile(Vodaphone) have made to their system in the past few weeks. This is causing the setup text messages to be sent out when my phone logs onto their network. My phone connects to my car phone system using Bluetooth rSAP, when I leave my car the Asda network seems to regard my mobile as a new phone logging onto their network and it sends out between two and six text messages each time. Anyone else had the same problem ? BDI BDI

  7. Orderd my ususal online shopping last night as usual totalling £125.39 with a delivery slot of 1-3pm I waited and waited, no shopping arrived so I rang the store and they said "your payment was not authorised by your bank" ummm dont think I would do a shop without any money in my bank so I rang the bank who kindly told me.......YES ASDA did take the money for my shopping the total of £125.39 at 8.02am today and gave me the authorisation number of the transaction. The guy even said there is nothing on my account whatsoever that would stop a payment going out. Went on my online banking account and YES ASDA has taken the money out of my account!!!! Armed with this info I rang Asda home shopping who basically just didnt want to know!!, asked why hasnt anyone rang me from the asda to tell me there was a query with my shopping order (VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE), Got a reply "Oh really". Asked to speak to a manager to wherre as my money gone to be told, (after 5 minutes on hold) Manager has gone on lunch and will call you back on his return.......STILL WAITING. I have spent most of the day ringing ASDA but to no avail as cant get through as they say on their AUTO " We have a high number of calls but will answer as soon as a customer service rep becomes available" ... I wonder why, I wonder why I just want my bloody money back as Natwest told me ASDA have taken it out of my account even checked this info twice, also can see online. So ASDA give me my money, YOU CAN KEEP YOU SHOPPING AS I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING WITH THESE JOKERS AGAIN as no one will take ownership of this shambolic error Yet ASDA policy is taking care of the customer!!! YEAH RIGHT NEXT MOVE PLEASE ANYONE
  8. At last got another PARKING CHARGE NOTICE for not displaying a valid ticket You are meant to pay £1 in the machine and they refund it at the till so it is free had no change on me The attendant was there when i got back to car I told him NOT to place anything on my vehicle "I have to as you entered a contract by driving into the car park" I have since phoned ASDA customer service.....there advice is to take things up with town and city parking as ASDA don't own the car park:!: After asking ASDA is it not part of the planning permission to provide a car park and it would of been built as part of the store All they had to say is contact town and country parking Told them i am looking forwards to a letter reminding me to pay followed by another letter begging for money followed by the threat of court then nothing. It would appear that ASDA customer services have little ability dealing with customers as he hung up on me. didn't get the chance to tell him i will shop at Tesco Of course i will not pay and looking forwards to more begging letters
  9. I took my Grandmother to her local Asda on Sunday (Colchester Store) and as I pulled in there was 4 UKCPL attendants walking about on their phones, watching videos and so on at the entrance (Overkill, I thought?). As I pulled up into a disabled bay, no less than three of these blokes very nearly ran towards my car to look for the blue badge (Which my Grandmother was meticulously setting the time on) as I was walking away from it. I couldn't believe it as I looked around, there must have been 20 of them in a 300 slot car park.. . Are they on commission or something? Are Asda bosses being threatened with beatings if this lot aren't allowed to issue invoices? It all seemed a bit odd to me. Granny had put the badge up (Kinda') and it was back to front (The wheel chair and serial number weren't showing) and as I returned back after 15-20 minutes, there were two of them around my car. Not just waiting, to tell me not to do it again, but issuing a ticket! Obviously, once issued, I binned it and told the bloke that he was being completely unreasonable and it'd go no where. As I got into the car and started to get going, he then stood behind the car until I got out and asked him what the problem was; He said that as I'd thrown it in the bin, he was calling security to come and "Sort me out"? Now, I'm a security officer with 3 years under my belt and wasn't phased at all, but the Guard arrived with an un-addressed banning letter and told me not to come back again, as the car park bloke handed me a freshly issued ticket. She was asleep in the car and woke up to this bloke smacking the wiper back down on the windscreen and I'm really not happy with the way it was handled.
  10. Hi. I placed an order with asda this week. It didn't arrive so I called customer services only to be told that the order had been cancelled because they couldn't take payment from my debit card. I could see quite clearly that they payment had left my bank account. I told them this and they said they'd look into it and call me back. They didn't call back so I called them. They told me the same thing again and said I should check with my bank. I called my bank and they confirmed what I already knew so I called asda again. This time I was told that they did have the payment. I asked why I was previously told that they didn't. They said they didn't know why I had been 'lied' to and didn't know why my order was cancelled. I demanded a refund which I was told could take up to 10 days. They have left me in real trouble. I have no food in the house and no money in my bank. The only money I have is sitting in asdas bank waiting to be returned. I'll be in this situation for almost a week.
  11. As already reported in the media over the past couple of weeks a lot of ASDA stores have already got Santa's grotto in place ready for Xmas & have been selling Xmas lines for ages. SWMBO has just come in from work and told me that they are now expecting their delivery of the Easter eggs on Boxing day. She was also given her 'Xmas stocking' from work which contained party packs, nuts etc.
  12. I was recently in my local ASDA (I go there every week to do my "big shop") I was walking down one of the isles when 3 security guards were coming the other way, one of them looked at me funny and his "mates" all started laughing, very hilarious as you can imagine. called this security guy a ginger t*** under my breath. About 3 minutes later i saw them at the end of one of the isles looking at me so i went down another isle. Next second i looked round and the man was standing in front of me asking me if i had a problem with him. I said "no" as i've heard that these types of people get off on restraining people who "cause trouble". He then said, "what did you mumble to me earlier?". I said again nothing. He then asked me to leave the store and for not to come back. I'm not sure if they're allowed to do such a thing as it would be my word against his and his pals. Can anyone help me with info as to whether i can take this further or if i can't at least I'd know!! cheers.
  13. I recently took advantage of online offers on Asdas home page. Felix cat food was showing as boxes of 12 pouches, 2 boxes for £3, this was a huge saving, I buy this all the time for my 3 cats. I ordered 36 boxes = £54 plus delivery. I ordered these on 7th Sept and arranged delivery on Monday 10th. Delivery arrived and I noticed the invoice showed £110, I realised what had happened so rejected them. Asda Terms & Conditions show that if items are marked at a different price when picked they will be charged at that price and a box had to be ticked to show this. I ticked the box, I really didnt think that 3 days later it would be changed. I dont understand the logic in this, Im sure there will be customers caught out who dont notice and will be charged differently, what is the point in paying staff to pick, pack and deliver for goods to be returned. The amount of £54 was allocated to Asda on the day of ordering, today, 5 days later that money is still not in my account, it shows as being suspended, its neither mine not theirs, but I cannot spend that money so in effect I havent got it. This is a good ploy from Asdas point of view, the interest on this money is a good earner and it shows total inconvenience for the customer, Im really not happy about this. I emailed the CEO of Asda to be told to read the Terms & Conditions, well I guess this was my stupidity in believing an offer was going to be too good.
  14. At the beginning of July I ordered £260 worth of goods online from Asda, of which only £105 worth was delivered. I immediately called the store and spoke to the manager, who informed me he didn't know how to do a refund but would get someone to process it first thing in the morning. I duly went out to buy all the stuff that wasn't delivered from Tesco. At 3pm the following day I got a call at work from an Asda delivery driver who was trying to deliver the missing goods. I explained I had already been out and bought them elsewhere and had been promised a refund. 5 days later Asda took the full amount of my original order from my account. I called again and was put through to the manager again. She told me all she could do was take a message, but promised me 'someone' would call me the following day. No such call was received. I then complained via the main Asda Groceries contact us form and received an email promising they would 'look into it'. (It took some time to decipher the email as the grammar was appalling and there were numerous words missing from sentences). I am STILL waiting for my refund, or at least a call from someone to tell me what, if anything, is being done. I am a single parent and barely get by each month - I simply cannot afford to be out of pocket by £155, at this rate we'll be sitting in the dark with no gas or electric as the meters are nearly out of credit
  15. Hi, I bought asda insurance policy and cancelled it after 8 days (within 14 days) and today I received my refund and they deducted £258 from the original payment. This is ridiculous. How is it possible to deduct 1/3 price of the policy for 8 day insurance? They have given me premium rate number that would cost me £1.02p/m to gain an explanation about this hefty charge. Can someone please help me what to do about this?, any legal help I can get or something? Thanks
  16. Hi I need some help. I noticed this morning that £21.50 had been withdrawn from my bank account as a debit card payment from Asda, this had taken me overdrawn. I called the bank and they said that the payment was on 5th May 2012 at an asda store, but for some reason it had only come out on 16th July 2012. I rang asda and was talking to an incredibly rude man, who just kept repeating to me that they are legally allowed 6 months to take payment of a debit card purchase and there was no more he would say. Called bank back, they said nothing they could do. But this in my bank was £7, which was all the money I had to buy food until payday at the end of the monthand now nothing. Is there anything I can do to try and get that back? Thanks
  17. Hi All, my friend and I were shopping at Asda, she had trolley with her stuff and I had my own stuff, I was in the queue but then realized she is in some kind of trouble with security officers, After 40 mins or so she came out and explained me what happened - for some reasons she took trolley out of asda gate without paying and one security officer came out and asked her if she had paid, she honestly said she has not and came back in, they took her to security room and started interrogating her, they obviously did not believe that it was just her mistake and she agreed that she made a very stupid mistake but she is not a criminal. Moreover she just received British Citizenship and is about to apply for British passport. Security officer did not call any police as she agreed that she made a mistake, and she signed a letter which states that she is now banned from coming to asda for next 6 months or so, officer also mentioned that she will be receiving fine of £150 which she has no issues in paying She is working as a manager in a very reputed company and now extremely worried for following reasons, has been reading about all of this since it happened yesterday with her, Any kind of help will be much appreciated. 1. Is this incident going to affect her current employment, she is working there from last 4+ years and has very good reputation 2. Is this incident going to affect her future jobs etc especially if she works for a financial institution 3. Is this going to affect her passport application, she has already received British citizenship 4. Is this information going to be shared with police? can police be involved now? 5. Officer told her that she will receive civil recovery fine from another company, I read some posts related to that where it says that her information will be stored in National database of dishonest people, is that true, if yes how does this affect her career? Pls help with information, does she needs to visit a lawyer? Regds Shikha
  18. Hi Recently I bought some food from Asda and realized they sold me expired crisps, Yes one can say that I should have checked expiry date on the product before buying it, I generally do that for milk/meat etc but dont check it for every item I buy. Around 1 year back they sold me expired milk as well, I did go back and filed a complaint at Asda but nothing really happened, One of manager there even said that few days dont make much difference. Any ways, shall I file a complaint somewhere, is it worth it or just ignore them. Regds Shikha
  19. Hiya,Yesterday I placed my very first online order with ASDA via mysupermarket.com and had a free delivery code which I also used. I had to register with the ASDA website as it was my first time using it and after a bit of searching for the checkout, finally processed my order for delivery to come this morning between 10-12. I didn't min d the time so chose one where they suggested a van would already be in my area. I had a confirmation email and that was that. Then a couple of hours later I had another email saying my order had been cancelled. It said if i didn't cancel it, there were a number of reasons why it may have been cancelled, so I rang up the number they gave me (which was an old number by the way and promptly advised me to ring another number). So I spoke to the lady and she was perfectly nice but said she couldn't tell why it had been cancelled and as I had phoned up at 6pm on a Friday, the appropriate department was closed so advised me to ring back in the morning. So I just rang them again and the lady told me that it was cancelled for 'security reasons' - I had in the meantime noticed my account online had been suspended and she told me this was why. I asked what kind of security reasons and she wouldn't tell me. So I asked if I should be concerned that my card details have been taken or my account has been hacked and she said no, it was a security risk to the company, not to me! So in the end I double-checked that they wouldn't be taking the money and then left it at that but now it's bugging me as to what they could possibly mean? Are they inferring that I am somehow a threat to their driver? I'm half tempted to call back up and find out but don't want to cause trouble. Has anyone had anything like this occur?
