  1. On march 11th i got my new statement Credit Limit £250 Balance on March 10 - £245.51 Interest - £ 7.45 Total £252.96 Overlimit fee £ 12.00 New Total £264.96 minimum payment £21.90 to be paid by March 28 On March 28 i paid £22.00 by bank transfer so new balance should be £242.96 Looked online to see if they had the payment and it was credited to my account on the 28th BUT on the 26th they added another £12 overlimit fee so the new balance is £255 Can they add a charge twice in a month? Surely charges should only appear on the statement (due April 11) or is this just a case of getting people into a spiralling debt
  2. At LBA stage, but can't seem to find any threads at all to compare with. Account is zero balance, not defaulted, huge credit limit, very healthy. 14 default charges 2006 - 2011. 2 x £20, 12 x £12. Have sent initial approach with list of charges, and very quickly got the get lost and bother the FOS, dispute is closed letter. Need a little help now guys please...
  3. Hi All, I received a response to my SAR from Aqua/HBOS today. Total charges: £468 I have an old spreadsheet which I believe I found on these forums. It takes the date and amount of each charge and then calculates compound interest (based on my own APR of 35.95%) for these charges. Can I reclaim the charges and this compounded interest? If so I can reclaim £706.22 Any links to template letters would be much appreciated! My account has been sold to a DCA if that makes any difference?
  4. I hope this is the correct place for my query, however I couldn't find a specific Credit Card section so did a search on "Aqua" which led to existing posts here ... ************* I am amazed by the brainless incompetence of Aqua. I am unable to keep up my credit card payments, and in October notified Aqua accordingly and asked for the appropriate claim form in order to activate my PPI. In the absence of a response I have written repeating that notification and the request, but still have not had claim paperwork. In that time my account has missed two payments so is further in arrear now, which could have been avoided had I been able to claim when originally intended. I have also received chase letters, to all of which I have responded pointing out that I have been trying to take proper steps for weeks and been prevented from doing so by their apparent inefficiency. At different points in this time I have been written-to by Matthew Ball, Senior Collections Manager, by K Stafford, Head of Collections and Recoveries, and by Charlotte Gurnell, Senior Operations Manager, referencing my overdue account. I have written immediately to each pointing out that I have been endeavouring to be able to invoke my PPI to stabilise matters, and that I was still waiting for Aqua to make any move whatsoever. Each time I requested their personal intervention to move things along. The only response I have had is standard letter offering to make a repayment arrangement. Laughably, that letter also stated that I might not realise that I have PPI on the account so I might want to consider making a claim! Last evening I wrote letters following-up my personal letters to messrs Ball, Stafford and Gurnell, pointing out that in five weeks I still had not had the claim forms, nor even the courtesy of an acknowledgement of any past correspondence including my replies to them. I requested immediate action before their collection processes geared-up a level because nobody was taking steps to stabilise matters. These letters were posted first thing this morning by recorded delivery, something I have had to do for a while since being told that "we have no record of receiving them so the Post Office must be to blame not us" And now, a couple of hours later, I have received a letter advising that an Aqua "representative" is visiting on Monday! No doubt he/she is calling to obtain either payment of the arrear or to go through the motions of setting up a payment plan, entirely unaware of all of the above because nobody has ever done a single thing in response to my initial perfectly reasonable and proper steps when becoming unable to continue. I have very limited time to take steps now because of being right up against the weekend and the visit is booked for Monday ... But I am not at all confident that any step I might take would actually get further than yet another brick wall anyway! ... were I to follow-up today with contacting any of those senior people again to have them cancel the visit and get my PPI claim rolling at last, I have very little expectation that anything would actually be done or get down the chain of command to where it would be needed in time for Monday anyway. So firstly I want to know how I can have them cancel their visit?! It is actually no problem just to be out all day, however that isn't really sensible plus wouldn't achieve any progress where it matters and would presumably only result in repeated visits at varying hours until successful anyway. And of course I want to get my PPI going still! I need a claim form etc from Aqua but despite now a total of eight letters to four different people across five weeks, mostly by recorded delivery - only one of which has had any reply at all - they have not yet provided anything enabling things to move along. At a push I could actually get enough together to pay the outstanding arrear if that would cancel the visit and allow a few weeks til the next payment falls due for the PPI arrangements to hopefully get taken care of. However, firstly I'd rather not, and secondly I shouldn't have to anyway because if they had responded when I first asked, PPI would have kicked-in and the arrears wouldn't have arisen! But if it is the lesser of two evils I would be willing to do it. So please can anyone advise with regard to halting the visit on Monday with only the rest of this afternoon plus tomorrow to act? Also, does anyone know of a route in to someone in authority at Aqua who can actually be contacted and has the ability to get off their bum and call off the dogs and also get the claim form sent to me? A simple step I had assumed five weeks ago! Howard
  5. Just received a Formal Demand from Buchanan Clark & Wells and they have kindly added an Administration Charge of £54.60. Are they allowed to add an Admin Charge?
  6. Hi everyone, Over the course of the last six weeks I have sent 3 letters to Aqua customer services (which is in Halifax). All letters by recorded delivery. Non of the letters have been delivered, the Royal Mail website says they are all being proceesed through their system for delivery. I can understand if they lost one letter, but three?, or am I being paranoid? Any suggestions on my next move?
  7. I have recently gotten myself in to a bit of a mess with this card and have been charged month after month only to still be over my limit. I owe £2640 my limit is £2600 i have been paying this card for 6 months when it was roughly over by £20 but my debt is growing not going down. It has got to the point where i am paying almost £100 a month for nothing. That's £600 i have paid in the last 6 months only to be still overdrawn. And have actually paid nothing towards the debt by the time they charge me.My interest and charges were £96 this month out of £94 this month, this is total robbery. I cannot continue like this i have contacted them now twice and they have given me deaf ear about stopping my interest for say 6 months. I have now cancelled my d/d as there is nothing i else i can see possible. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Denis
  8. Finally almost have my credit file straight and only have 1 CCJ to come off in July of next year. All bills have been paid on time and up to date for the last 5 years and I have no credit apart from a mobile phone contract. I recently took out the credit builder option on a pre-paid Cash Plus card which has been recorded on my credit file and is now finished. What are the chances of being accepted now for the Aqua card with the old nearly expired CCJ on my file?
  9. hi sorry if this is in the wrong forum but i've just wondering if anyone has any experience with aqua card putting up interest rates? 10. Hi, i just checked my credit file and i had a debt with aqua credit cards, i recieved a letter from 1st credit in Oct with my annual statement saying i owe £1022.66. My credit file is saying 1st credit registared a default on 19/01/2010 for £1065. I checked my credit file in Nov last year and this default was not on it. Any advice would be great.
  11. Hello. I have an AQUA card which defaulted around 12 months ago, I arranged a payment plan with them and have been paying. I'm now at the point I cant meet the payments, got to that point that all is falling down. they ring all the time and I have advised that at the moment I cant pay anything. Tonight the adviser said that you run the risk of the payment plan ending and not being allowed another one, charges and interest will start to be added. While you are in arrears the calls will continue. What can be done under these circumstances? Do i just sit back and let the balance rise, will they pass it onto a DCA? Its just one of many accounts that are now failing on the plans as cash flow is so tight.
  12. Making my own thread on this subject. Received over the weekend and SD signed by Barry Davies. £1300 Aqua credit card from around 3 years ago. Now taking the steps to set aside, it's a little confusing so taking my morning to digest the tons of information here on the forums! Any additional advice will be welcome 8)
