  1. Thanks for that! Glad to see I'm not alone and won't take it personally!
  2. Hello, I received statements from Cap One, and have sent prelim and LBA, but have heard nothing back from them. Is this usual? I know I have read some threads with a response back from them, so just wondered if anyone else had been completely ignored! Filling out the N1 today, so hopefully that might spur them into action! Had it very easy claiming against Nat West, so was (stupidly!) hoping for something similar! Oh well!
  3. Hello, I'm also claiming charges from an account I closed over a year ago. Got the full amount from NAT WEST after LBA, so hoping for success here too! Have they cashed your £10 cheque? I would always recommend sending recorded delivery. At least that way, you have some record of it being delivered. But if you haven't, don't worry. I'm sure it would have got there. They're probably just ignoring it. (I especially think that after watching the Whistleblower last night!!) If you don't hear from them after the 40 days, send the prelim off. Good luck! Little Angel:)
  4. I'VE WON!!!! Just to update on my progress with my claim. Sent LBA off on 24 January, so time was up on 8th Feb. Fully expected to have to file then, but unfortunately RobberBank surprised me with a surprise holiday to Australia!!! So, didn't have time! So thought I would have to wait until we got back which was fine!! Got home 25 Feb eagerly expecting some news but there was nothing in the post. I was all set for the long haul, then last Wednesday (28 Feb) I received a letter from Natwest offering the full amount (just under 4k) as a gesture of goodwill! Sent the acceptance off on Thursday - just checked my account and it's all there!!!! :D I guess I'm very lucky I had a very painless experience. Thanks to everyone who helped - youi've been great - a donation will be made!
  5. And there was me thinking it would all be plain sailing! As I only asked for the account to be changed yesterday, I'll have to wait and see... oh, and keep my fingers crossed!
  6. I've read a few posts where some people had been given a hard time changing from Advantage Gold to a current account. I went to my local branch yesterday, signed a 'Service Request' saying I wanted to change my account and that was it. All done with in under a minute! So, it can be done without any problems.
  7. I got exactly the same letter today. What a busy man Mr Higley is!!
  8. Hello. Just thought I'd update my thread, although it's very dull in comparison to the Cobbett's Slayer's news! Got the Mr Higley letter today saying they were looking into my claim - exactly a week after I had sent my prelim..so watch this space! Incidently, I've read a few posts where some people had been given a hard time changing from Advantage Gold to a current account. I went to my local branch yesterday, signed a 'Service Request' saying I wanted to change my account and that was it. All done with in under a minute! So, it can be done without any problems. Anyway, enough of this, I'm off to read the latest installment of the Cobbett Slayer! Who needs reality tv!!!
  9. Prelim letter sent off yesterday claiming £3879 in charges and £7121 in compound interest. Well, it's worth a try!! Will keep you all updated on my ...progress!
  10. It's ok......we can multi-task!!!!!!!! Besides.......he needs to come up for air!!! This is RB on LA's laptop! We'll see how it goes i guess. I've read in some places that this form of contractual interest is included as part of the claim amount. I'll be paying whatever the fee is. Am i reading the link correctly in that the court is basically saying to the bank 'get lost, pay up'? If it is then it's BRILLIANT news.
  11. Stop interrupting....RB's here with me now! :o It's all within the last 6 years, the first being 6/6/01. The claim's for £3875.....the interest is £7k+ I know this goes beyond the small claims level but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Thanks for all your help with this.......up to.....and from....now!!!
  12. When he's in gear, there's no stopping him!! Actually, while he's gone off to play tennis, I'm attempting to take up where he left off! Both of us have done what you said about filling in columns A, B and C. D is automatically calculating but for some reason E doesn't calculate. (it's not just RB being too hasty!) What are we doing wrong?:-?
  13. Maybe not, but I have my moments! That's why I'm letting RB do the hard work for me!
  14. Many thanks for that link - it's very helpful.
