  1. Right - I'm filling in the claim form now! Wish me luck!!!!
  2. Anyone else get a standard letter from Lloyds TSB recovery centre in Andover? Tel 01264 832297. There's an answerphone on there, but I've left dozens of messages - no reply. What a surprise...
  3. I'd like to jump on the bandwagon and congratulate you as well Scott! Your story is truly amazing and gives us all the motiviation we need to stick in there and take the banks down... Nice one!!
  4. Thanks for the re-assurance Kate. Nothing in the post yesterday, so will be filling in N1 shortly. Have lots of other crap to deal with in the mean-time, including the conveyancers screwing up my re-mortage arrangements!!
  5. Hey folks, don't really know what section to put this in, so am choosing the General Consumer Issues. It may be that I need to seek legal advice from a qualified professional - but, I thought I'd post here in case anyone's able to offer any advice... I've just switched mortgage provided from IF to Halifax. Halifax chose Hugh James Solicitors as their conveyancer. Halifax released the funds to Hugh James to complete the mortgage on 4th April. Due to a cock-up by Hugh James, the mortgage didn't complete until today (8 days after it was due to complete). I wasn't aware of the cock-up until yesterday so desperately phoned IF, Hugh James and Halifax to get it sorted. Halifax said that provided Hugh James faxed them confirmation of the delay, they could ammend the date of completion (and more importantly date of my first payment). I told Hugh James this yesterday. Well, Hugh James didn't contact Halifax until today, and it appears that I'm going to have to stump up £570+ this month due to the cock-up. I've already paid IF this months mortgage! And my first payment to Halifax is due on the 1st of next month (£685, which I was expecting anyway). It's the £570 this month that concerns me. And it's not my fault that I've got to pay it before this months payday! It's Hugh James fault! I want to know if I can get compensation from Hugh James, as they have no valid reason for delaying the completion! IF were happy to settle on 4th April, if Hugh James had contacted them! Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  6. Well, 14 days has expired since my LBA was sent (recorded delivery). I'll check the post when I get home from work. If there's no letters from Lloyds offering me a full, unconditional refund, then I'll be following the next step and proceed to issuing a court claim. I guess the next step is to download the N1 Form and fill in all my details. Scary Stuff!! :o But... With the help, guidance and support of people on here, I'm determined to get my money back! Wish me luck!
  7. Honory - I would like to add my best wishes in getting your money back again. It will also be very interesting to see if your story does emerge in any of the National Press. I've scoured several posts in the Lloyds TSB section, and this does seem to be an isolated case. However, once I'm successful in reclaiming my money back, I'll be sure to ensure I withdraw the funds and close the account immediately! I am still completely stunned at how this has been allowed to happen? If it were me, I would certainly file for damages too! These surely are new lows in the tactics that the banks will employ.
  8. Excellent! I have a feeling this spreadsheet will come in handy. 2 days left til my 14 days are up since I sent Lloyds my LBA...
  9. Jees! I've only just submitted my LBA - looks like a long hard slog for the next few months then, judging by what others have written on here!
  10. Hi everyone - I heard some news on the radio at the weekend, about cases being delayed due to the huge amount of people reclaiming their charges at the moment. With the 'Whistelblower' programme and increased media activity on the topic, is it only a matter of time before there's a 'test case' and a precedent set? I'm at LBA stage and getting a little nervous! However, reading many other posts on here, it's nice to know I'm not alone!!
  11. Good luck Rowan! Hang in there, and keep us posted of your progress!
  12. Replying to my own thread here (1st sign of madness, lol). Just checking - Is this the address people have used for their SARs? Registered Data Controller BARCLAYCARD XANSA PARTNERSHIP LTD 420 THAMES VALLEY PARK DRIVE THAMES VALLEY PARK READING RG6 1PU
  13. Hey everyone, can someone please tell me if the SAR template in the template library for a c/card company (ie Barclaycard) is the same one I use for bank (ie Halifax)? Many thanks, Mr Incredible
  14. Quick update - Thanks for all the nice messages (you know who you are). Family situation is a lot better. Still got problems, but it's not cancer (which is a huge relief). Thanks once again guys/gals. I'm still glad we opted for the partial settlement in this case, though. We still bank with Halifax and have just taken out a mortgage with them too! We've not incurred any charges this year (and have no intention of doing so, either). So, all in all, win-win (IMHO anyway). However - if any banks are reading this... I won't settle so easily in my claims against other parties!! Lloyds and B/Card beware...
