  1. Hi Just got hold of my credit file. Have default registered by Barclaycard (which i believe was a monument card). They passed the debt to Cabot who have also registered a default. I have sent the CCA to Cabot and they have failed to meet the deadlines and commited a criminal offence. First of all am i right in thinking that barclaycard should have removed the default when they transferred the debt. If so can anyone suggest a letter to get barclaycard to remove the default. Will also be asking Cabot to remove the default if possible. Again suggestion for wording a letter to them would be appreciated. Believe it or notI also have the same situation with Capital One and Capquest. Although Capquest have advised me that they had sent the debt back to Cap One and have marked the default as satisfied. I think i am correct in thinking both of these can be removed. Also I know that two debts one for citicards and the other for an actual barclaycard account which were defaulted at around the same time do not appear on the Experian file. I am waiting to see my Equifax file to see what appears on that. Looking forward to the usual help and assistance of the wonderful people on here Thanks
  2. Caro, Sorry was not sure where i should put the post. Now for a quick update. Sent the CCA to connaught which they received tuesday. They replied the same same day to say the file had been closed and passed back to 1st Credit (CCA sent to them on monday as well).
  3. I have just received a Statutory Demand from Connaught for a barclaycard debt of approximately £1500 issued on behalf of 1st Credit. Is it too late to put in a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) or a CCA request. If not should i apply to both Connaught and First Credit and which would be the best letter to issue Hope someone can help Thanks

  5. Great news ceaser. All i actually got was the debit card. Ordered a paying in book from them so I can pay money in at Lloyds received that earlier this week then got the chequebook as well as another paying in book today. Also payment slips in the chequebook.
  6. Wildrob Dont worry they are just trying it on. If you make the payment you said plus the £50 additional sum then the arrears will be coming down and even if they took you to court you as long as you can prove you are making the payment the Judge will not issue a prossesion order. Even if he did he would suspend it. Most judges will look at the length of the loan and providing you will have paid the arrears off before the loan is due to end they will allow you to carry on paying the £50 per month. I was in arrears by a few thousand with the Chelsea and the judge allowed me to pay it back at £50 per month
  7. Quick update for people. Ordered a cheque book on line on moday evening, received it today. Was not sure I would get it
  8. Oh what a great feeling that was Got a phone call at 8.35 this morning from my friendly Capquest worker. After the security questions. Informed him that the account was now in dispute and a letter notifying Capquest of that was in the post. Asked why it was in dispute so i said because of possible illegal charges being applied to the account. He asked how much was involved so I said around £400. He said if he reduced the debt by that amount would I pay the account today. Told him no and could hear him getting more and more angry. Told him I was not going to say anything else to him and put the phone down on him. Was expecting another call at work throughout the day but it never come. Really enjoyed getting a bit of my own back.
  9. petrafyde, I dont think you will have a problem. If you have applied to two different banks as Citibank wont do a credit check it wont appear anywhere that you have applied there. My next step will be to open a US dollar account with them as i am going out there for a holiday later in the year. Then i can transfer money into that and get the bank rate. Instead of buying currency and getting tourist rates. They also have a Euro account as well. My understanding is as long as you have a total of £2000 in any accounts you have with them then you have free banking on all the accounts. Otherwise they will charge a monthly fee for using the Dollar and Euro accounts
  10. Ceaser, No dont think you have mucked it up at all. By the way think you will have have the new account details in plenty of time. took about two weeks from the day I sent my form back if not slightly shorter
  11. Ceaser, I did not want the overdraft. Arranged to pay my salary into the account but did not send my payslip off. If you dont want the overdraft facility dont think you will have a problem getting the account. Not heard of anyone on this or other sites i go on at times being turned down yet
  12. Try CITIBANK. I have got a bad credit record. But now have a current account with them. If you need a overdraft they will do a credit check but if you dont want the overdraft they dont do one. I think you need to pay a certain amount in per month to get a cheque book. You do however get a Visa Debit Card without the Cheque Guarantee facility and it is not the electron version which certain on line sites wont accept.
  13. Hello All. Newbie here so hoping you will bear with me and point me in the right direction. Recently sent the request to my bank to reclaim charges they have applied. Now want to start sorting out the DCA's who are chasing for payments of the credit card debts. Have kept all the statements from the Credit Card companies and have this week sent off the letters requesting full refunds of the charges applied. Was making occasional payments to the DCA as and when I could do so but having read through the posts on here concerning some of those that I am having to deal with I am beginning to think they dont own the debts. The questions i would now like to have answered to are 1) As I have written to the Credit Card companies for refunds does this mean that the debts are now in dispute. If so do I write to the DCA and advise them of this. 2) Do I now also write to the DCA and request a S.A.R. or would it be better to request the CCA or will I need to have both statement. (I assume it will be best to send these letters Recorded Delivery) Looking forward to receiving advice and trust you wont mind if i need to ask more questions. Many Thanks
