Well I'm sorry but I'm not rolling over for £135. OK - quick question. As I've not even had my SAR fulfilled should I cash the cheque and remove that from my preliminary letter, not cash it and remove it from my preliminary letter, or return it with a thanks but no thanks.

Even more interesting. I've had a letter from Abbey this morning. It includes the same statement details as I got from MBNA. However, this includes a letter..... charge are as agreed....and are deemed lawful... "MBNA disagrees with the OFT's interpretation of the law"..... charges dropped from June to £12........... however here is a goodwill cheque for £135 as settlement of the above matter. Abbey now trying to fob you off with payment at the SAR stage????
  3. Direct Legal - Hillsden Securities: Sending letters to an address that was not a real address but close enough to allow them to be delivered to my girlfriends parents home. When challenged they removed it from the system, only to add it back again a few weeks later and to start sending them again. They claim that they got the info from Experian who have no record of this address. DLC have recently added this incorrect address to my credit file and linked it to my previous addresses!! I believe that this address was passed to them from my ex housemate who had a bit of a grudge and w
  4. For what it's worth, they've done the same thing to me. I offered an ex-gratia payment of £2,000 for a £2,500 debt which is showing on my account as defaulted already and they refused....... a few days latter a default appears for the same debt in Hillsden's name.

Interesting. I've had a breakdown from Oct 2001-2004 in what looks like Excel format in regards to my Abbey Credit card - About £500 in charges. They stated that this is not a full S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) and as such it's been provided FOC - yet they were happy to send this to me without any ID verfication? It does state that if I required a full SAR that I need to send the enclosed form back with £10 payment and suitable ID. Edit: Confusion sorted - This is from MBNA, not Abbey as my account goes further back than this and 2001 is when MBNA took over the accou

Dammit - I thought that would be the case. Just funny how it took them so long to notify me of the fact when then got my letter a month ago - I get the feeling this will be a LONG one.

Another Update: Now I think that this maybe my fault, but I've received a letter today in regards to my bank account and my S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) payment back. I've received a letter today - 9 days before the information is due - they are unable to process my SAR as the account is closed and I've subsequently moved address so they will only send to the registered address on the account unless they receive proof of my address. I can do this and send it back to them today, but does this means the 40 days starts again, or do they have the 9 remaining days? Pete
  8. ARGH!! Now they'e change my current address so that it wrong too - I swear they through addresses in a randomiser-mangler and this one is similar but again not an actual address and registered that in my credit file. Now my file is littered with linked addresses that are incorrect!!
  9. Silly PC double posted - can a mod please remove this?>?
  10. I have a small problems with DLC. I had an issue with Citifinancial when I moved from a shared house and suddenly my direct debits were no longer being taken. Despite several phone calls (where I was assured each time the problem was sorted) and several letters (none of which got a response) it got passed to DLC. Despite giving Citifinanicial the correct address, they passed my old address to DLC where they tried (so they say) for many months to contact me. The first I knew of this is when a letter turned up at my girlfriends parents house of all places - however, it's not the

Quick Update: Recieved a letter from Chester in regards to my credit card dated 2nd Jan. I am to be sent a full response by 23rd Jan - 6 days before the 40 days are up. Cutting it a little fine. Nothing regarding my bank account.

  14. Hello, I've getting things ready to start the balls rolling but there are a couple of questions I have. 1) Both my bank account and credit card ended up defaulting - does this stop me claiming, especially as the spiralling charges lead to the default. 2) My Abbey Credit Card became an MBNA card - how does that work? Do I have to SAR both Abbey and MBNA, or just Abbey? If it's the former do I have to claim from Abbey up until the card changed, and MBNA after? Thanks
