    Cahoot

Hi to confirm. I settled the HSBC debt in 2009 and have heard nothing since, but it doesn't show as settled. As for the debt in question, cahoot bank account, the debt is showing as green and settled, but the reality is that I never settled it nor recieved notification of it. So i'm not sure if this is really settled or not? Unless they saw that the reason why it was over was because originally I went over limit by £3 and they just closed it down?

And it says for cahoot bank that it was settled in sept 2010 but I have never settled it nor recieved letter of settlement. any help here please?

    Nw ISA

hi I just wondered if someone can help please. I want to make a payment from my lloyds current account to my nationwide isa online. I have looked at the nationwide website to see what details I have to enter for sort code and account number which is here. http://www.nationwide.co.uk/search/D...x?article=1206 now am I reading this right. sort code, yes simple, but the account number it says enter 33333334 but also your roll/ref number. Now it doesn't say the syntax necessary, is it the first number just followed by the next one? seems a bit long for an account no?

I have no idea, I have never done a credit check.

    Cahoot

I think you misunderstand. I have a credit card with cahoot. Charges have been applied in the past 6 years which I want to claim back. I also have a bank account with cahoot, which went over the agreed Od because of interest. I didn't use it since, and last time they wrote to me in 2009 after I challenged them with unfair bank charges the balance had run up to over £2000 because of charges and interest. during that time I didn't use the account. 4 years later I have heard nothing but I shudder to think what the total is. My questions were. Should I still make credit card claim? My fear in doing this is that it might "remind" them of my banking debts with them which seem to be forgotten about? And how would I go about clearing the banking debt if I wanted to? Or if they did bring it up again? What is my position here. Thank you

    Cahoot

Hi it is not a credit card, it is a bank account.

    Cahoot

Ok thanks. I will check my credit file. But what am I looking for? And should I start my claim for the credit card charges?

Do you think it is safe to make a claim for the credit card charges? What would happen if they did bring this up? The whole amount owed is due too me going over my OD because of interest an then subsequent charges and interest applied, none of it excepet the original od is borrowed money

    Cahoot

last payment was 2007 but I have had last letter from them after the banking dispute in 2009

    Cahoot

I hadn't used the account since about 2007. The question is what should I do about it? And should I still go ahead and make a claim for the credit card charges? even though this may alert them to this bank account?

    Cahoot

I opened a cahoot bank account back in 2006. This had an overdraft facility of £300 on it. This wasn't my main account and I didn't pay 100% attention to it. My balance was in the overdraft. in 2007 the overdraft interest caused the account to go over the overdraft. Subsequently £35 charges were levied on the account each month + interest. The account got to £2000 and I sent them a letter at the time of the dispute with banks stating the charges were unfair. The banks won this case. the last I heard from them was in 2009 with a threatening letter saying that I owed them £2900 odd pound in that account. Since then I have heard nothing from them about this account. I don't have access to the account online either anymore. Now I'm clearing up all my debts I shudder to think what the amount is on this account. Probably close to £6000-7000 if past fees have been the same. Now I don't know what to do? I also have a credit card with them which I want to clear up and make a claim for the charges to clear that debt but I'm worried that if I notify them about that it could awaken the giant and they may start chasing the other debt. I'm in the process of clearing up all my debts but this is by far the most worrysome and unclear one I have as I do not know where I stand and any advice would be appreciated.
  18. Yes but I used the moneyclaim sheet which I used previously from MSE. It is a little over £300 to be exact.
  19. Another thought, apologies for multiple posts! Could that guy from BC be getting his facts wrong because the original contract/agreement whatever it is called only needs to be provided on agreeements prior to 04/07? Cand thereafter I think he is indeed correct in that they can just give you a rough copy especially if it iwas done electronically? Incidentally mine was before 2007
  20. Thanks Daniella. So just as a slight aside, are we saying in theory Capital one could go broke because everyone has an invalid agreement (or before a certain time)? And if everyone just stopped paying them they would go under?
  21. Ok thanks. The value of the charges is £300
  22. Sorrry a bit confusing. The poster above says they do have stored away the agreeements. DX is saying I should write to them now about the penalty charges. And Daniella is saying I should only at this stage write to ask for a contract. Unless I have misunderstood.
  23. He said that the guy who phoned me last wk would get in touch about regarding the offer I made once he has heard back from cap 1. Regarding the contract he kept on telling me that they don't need to give me a signed copy only a true copy (whatever that means I think a version there of but not the original!) but he said there is no point sending to them if I want a copy I should do a cca request to cap 1 direct. Maybe I should just send the letter to both? But then again they are using BC as an interface for communication so I should write to them? Am a bit confused. Would also the fact that I have made an offer negate any future statements that the agreement is invalid due to there being no contract?
  24. Thanks. He said on the phone that this letter should go to Cap 1 not themselves? Do I need to request a signed copy of the original agreemenet?
  25. Ok thanks Danielle. I need to get a letter out asap. But I need some help because I have confused myself slightly. I would like to settle at 40-50% asap, if this is possible. I do not want to settle for more than this. I have charges on the account totalling £300 I don't believe there is a contract for this account Now how to I get those points in a letter to get the best resolution? Do I need to do another cca or sars request for the contract even though I did this previoously and paid £10? Although this was about 4 years or so ago? Any help would be grateful please.
