  1. Thanks for that, think i,ll do the same and wait till they send me a letter with their offer, as i didnt get a name or number, i would be very happy if they could offer £1000 would deffinitly settle then. just worried that if i dont accept their first offer, they might not give me another. Anyway ill keep u posted and read your thread, thanx.
  2. Hi to all, been waiting for reply for over 14 days and was starting to think that they was,nt going to answer, but today was really happy to receive a phone call saying that they would settle for £800, thats £800 that i could really do with right now, anyway not to sure whether to take the offer or go to court and add the interest? its a very gd offer and im bit worried about court, even with all the gd addvice on this site. so thanks to all so far will let u know what i decide.
  3. sorry folks think ive posted the same thread twice, not used to sites like this, or computers in general, only been online 4 about 4 months, please be patient with me.
  4. Hi to all, I found this site a few weeks ago after watching a tv programe about bank charges. Anyway i decided to claim back and once i had recieved my statments i was shocked to find that over the last 6 years i,ve racked up over £1000, and like everyone else on this site quite rightly i want it back. So i sent off my LBA, (letter befor action) and only got a reply saying that it was being farwarded to customer relations, anyway to day i was really wound up when another 5 statments arrived with over £500 of charges, Im not to sure what to do now send off another LBA with other 5 statments or get someone more qualified to do it for me, am not good with stuff like this, and to top it all they also gave me a £39 charge today for an unpaid dd. Am really wound up, any advice no matter how small would really be appreciated. xx

  6. if you hav,nt already got your statments then you can ring the bank instead of sending them a letter, thats what i did found it much quicker and they only charged me £5. Good luck
  7. You can also type in the money programe in your tool bar and click on edited, thats where i downloaded my letter found it really helpful. and from there on this site has been a god send. Mods note; While they may choose to refere to it in this way,we have to be seen to be upholding certain standards here that will not lead to libel !
  8. HI everyone i,ve sent off my lba and received a reply a couple of days ago saying that it had been forwarded to customer relations where it would be investigated, my first question is does the 14 days start when my own branch recieved my letter or when customer relations recieve my letter? Second question is, my account is a joint account but ive only put my name on the letter, have i messed up already???
  9. Hi, I just rang them up and they sent all statments within 3 days, and it only costs £5. good luck with your claim.
  10. Thanks for your help will let you know what happens, sounds like this could take a while.
  11. Hi everyone, found this site a few weeks ago and was amazed to find out that I could claim back my bank charges, I also watched the money programe which gave lots of advice and was a really interesting watch. (I suprised myself lol). Anyway rang halifax 4 days ago to ask for statments, paid £5 and they were all here this morning. I was shocked to see that over the past 6 years i've paid £1196.00 in charges, Now I want it back, do you think that they will pay me all or most of it, or will they be more likely to want to take things further??? any help will be very much appreciated:) .
