  1. Thankyou all so much for your support. Lattie I think I will move the cash - you just never know with this lot! It will come in very handy as I start my nursing degree next Tuesday! 3 year course on my own with my 2 lovely boys! I need all I can get! Lisa x
  2. Hi all, DG have just credited my account today with the missing £933.33! It's just so bizarre that they've actually acknowledged the missing amount. Has this ever happened to anyone else who's already signed to say they'd accept a lower settlement only to get the balance a couple of months later? Thanks for all your advice Lisa x
  3. Hi, sorry me again, I can find the link to the 'act' but not the template letter to send to my creditors quoting parts of the act etc. Many thanks in advance. Lisa
  4. Ta very much, obviously couldn't see for looking!
  5. Hi all, I can't seem to find the consumer credit act template in the library, can anyone point me in the right direction? Many thanks Lisa
  6. Hi all, sorry to jump in, I've looked everywhere for the cca template, can anyone help? Ta very much Lisa
  7. Cheers Advoc8, shame I can't claim this as it adds up to a fortune! Oh well.. Lisa
  8. Hi all, I've just received my abbey credit card statements and there is a charge on there that is called 'retail interest'. Each month it costs about £20 plus and I wondered if I could claim this back? Lisa
  9. Hi Lattie, I do have another account with Natwest that I could use for the cheque so no problems there. If they do pay it into my HSBC acc. I'll just take the £1,000 and send back the rest. I'll do as you say with Michael B's letter also. Cheers Lattie Lisa x
  10. Hi all, I think in my haste to get this £1000, I've probably shot myself in the foot! Whilst at work today, the only paperwork from DG was the latest letter they sent me dated 21st feb. It basically says 'we look forward to hearing from regarding our offer letter of 13th feb'. Rather than waste another day, I sent a letter saying ' I accept your offer (not mentioning the amount) and look forward to receiving a cheque from you shortly'. Now, they might write back and say that I need to fill in the bit of their original letter that says 'i accept as full and final settlement etc' or they might not, they might just accept my letter but I doubt it! I wish now I'd sent off MB's letter that was suggested, I guess I was too impatient! Of course if I got this cash, I would send back the rest immediately, but what's to stop them demanding the whole lot if they rumble me? I really appreciate all of your advice, I'll let you know as soon as I've heard anything at all. Please wish me luck, I'm sooo nervous now! Lisa x
  11. Cheers guys, I'm sure I'll get one of them to work! Good luck to you all! Lisa
  12. Ta very much Barty Lisa
  13. Hi Saint, I did use that address and it says it's not recognised! Lisa
  14. Hi all, I'm trying to do mcol for the first time for my brother, does anyone know the correct address for lloyds to be accepted on mcol? Many thanks Lisa
  15. Hi all, can someone help please? I'm in the middle of filling in the mcol for the first time on behalf of my mum, but it won't accept natwest's address that I have which is the borehamwood one. Can someone advise please. Many thanks in advance Lisa
  16. Hi guys, thanks all so much for your time and advice, I'm gonna give it a shot and extract the £1000 (if they pay up of course). Will you all write to me while I'm at Her Majesty's pleasure?! Wish me luck, I'll keep you all up to speed Lisa x
  17. Lattie, I have all the faith in the world with you lot! Lisa x
  18. Hi Michael, I don't have the letter to hand at the moment but it was the one from hsbc with a second page saying 'I accept this as full and final settlement' etc. So I guess that's me stuffed! Oh well I suppose it was wishful thinking. Lisa
  19. Hi all, thanks for all your help so far. Just to confirm, I did receive the £3500 and did inform the court. The offer was actually from hsbc and not DG. However all the sussequent offers have been from DG, there have been about 3 so far all offering the full £4500. All along the lines of 'we still haven't heard from you do you want this money or not' kind of thing. Obviously, DG do not know what hsbc are doing or other way 'round, it's all a big mess! Lisa
  20. Cheers Lattie, good advice as always! I'll try writing and see what they say, it's worth a try as I really wasn't expecting anything else from them so it's just a bonus if they accept. Lisa
  21. Sorry just another one if you don't mind Netty and Lattie. I would like to get cracking on my sister's managed loan now, do you know of anyone who has successfully claimed for this? She pays £254 a month of which £180 is interest! Over the 11 years, she will be paying back £33000 for a £19000 loan, how are they getting away with it?! The loan is a joint one with her OH and they've just successfully claimed back £10,000 between them in bank charges which is part of that £19,000 mnaged loan. I haven't seen how anyone has done this so far. I have roughly worked out (very roughly)! that their £10,000 is roughly half of that loan. Now obviously they can only claim the interest on that 10k and not the rest of the loan as they've already had it in charges. I've worked that out to be approx 9k over the 11 years. Does this seem right and how on earth would they begin to get it back? Sorry for the long post so early in the morning! I'm surounded by 2 very noisy kids! Lisa
  22. Hi guys, I just had a moment of weakness! It would be good to get the remaining £1000 back, but I'm not even that brave! I'm happy with the £3500 and have managed to buy things I would never have been able to (a single mum with 2 boys), so I'd better not push my luck! Thanks for all your replies. Lisa x
  23. Hi Michael, sorry for the confusion, the other claim was my sister's which I was doing for her, that was for the full amount which has now been completely sorted. This one is actually for me and I have rec'd 3500, however, they are trying to offer me the full £4500. Even as I write this, I know it's dishonest to accept the money AGAIN! Although it's tempting to accept the £1,000 I was short in the first place. Lisa
  24. Hi everyone, sorry haven't posted in ages but I think I know what you'll all say before I ask this question! Hsbc offered me a settlement (which I accepted) of £3500 when my claim was for £4500. This was some weeks ago. I have since rec'd at least 3 letters from DG offering me the full amount of my claim an not acknowledging my previous smaller amount. This latest letter says 'we still haven't heard from you, do you want this £4500?' The temptaion is killing me! Any advice appreciated and heeded - honest! Lisa
