  1. Another phone call from Red Castleon my mobile while I was at work. They hung up before I could answer and when I tried to ring them back I couldnt get through after two attempts.
  2. I too have had dealings with GE Money. We got new windows in our house through them, but are behind with payments. I wrote them a letter template which I found on National Debt Helpline asking them to suspend payments and interest for 6 months on 4th Dec however I have not heard anything from them at all.
  3. I took out a loan last Feb as my partner was out of work and we only had my wages to survive on which wasnt much. We needed the money to live on until he found a job in my eyes it was only ever intended to be short term. However he still has not managed to find employment and I find myself back where I was last Feb, struggling to pay my mortgage and bills. The loan money is gone so we have nothing only my salary each month. I am now in arrears and despict trying to come to an arrangement with First Plus they have closed my account and passed my details to a debt collections agency called Red Castle. I recieved a letter from them on 23rd Dec (by now the arrears are £805.00) and phoned them. I spoke to gentleman who I can only describe as very aggressive and intimidating. He was not prepared to come to an arrangement over the arrears at all he wanted £269.00 per month and wouldnt take a penny less. I then recieved another phone call from Red Castle from a lady and I offered to pay £50 per month, but she declined my offer and politley informed me that they would issue legal procedings against me if I didnt pay of the arrears. I have not even recieved a default Notice from First Plus!! Has anyone got advice or has dealt with these two companies before??

I took out a loan last Feb as my partner was out of work,we only had my wages coming in which wasnt much and we needed to survive until he found a job, unfortunatley he still has not managed to find employment. The loan money has gone so now Im back to square one and I have now run into arrears with First Plus who have not been helpful at all. I recieved a letter from a debt collection agency called Red Castle on 23rd Dec and spoke to a gentleman who extremley aggressive and intimadating on the phone. He was not willing to come to an arrangement regarding my arrears which is now £805 I was willing to make a payment but he would not accept anything less than £269.00 per month. I then recieved another phone call today from a lady from Red Castle wanting payment again not willing to come an arrangement over the arrears. I offered to pay £50 on the phone there and then but she declined the offer and politley informed me that they were now going to issue court procedings against me. All this and I have never even be given a default notice in the post! Can these people do this?? I have been willing to come to an arrangement but have had it throwen in my face. Does anyone have advice regarding this matter?? Or had to deal with these two companies??
  5. Hi Im a newbie so please bear with me. I have an account and am in abit of diffcultly at the min. I asked to extend my overdraft slighly but was told "it would be unethical of me to do that" yet they are quite happy to "ethically" apply bank charges to my account for going slightly overdrawn and I mean slightly! They also threatened to refer me to credit control and close my account...can they do this?? I know they need to give me 30 days notice under the Banking Code but really this is a little extreme. Why do they apply charges to an account that is already struggling? They apply charges on top of charges and this escalates the problem.
  6. I think thats a really good idea because Im sure there are alot of cases regarding the unfair Tax Credit System. Ive been to my local MP and he has written to a "senior member of staff" about my case. Also I am going to my local newspaper aswell. The reporter said he will do an artical on this. Its just a waiting game now. Will update when we have news.
  7. Has anyone had problems with working tax credits? I claimed tax credits back in June and they stoped paying me in July saying I had not returned a form to them (which I never got), after me chasing them they sent the form back out, I filled it out and sent it back but my credits did not restart. I am the only one working in our household as my partner is having trouble finding employment and under severe stress and strain now I have Inland Revenue saying I owe them £605 as they class what I was paid an overpayment!!! I had to wait 4 months to be told why they stoped in the first place and now im still waiting after a month on my new credit claim form.
