  1. Thanks Kazbo and curlychic! Just going to send it off today! And good luck with your claims as well. Fingers crossed! Leah x
  2. Hi all, Just writing up my LBA and was just wondering if I should send it back to Debbie Gilbert who responded (well, sent a template letter) to my Preliminary letter, or is there someone else I should send it to? Also, a bit confused - do I ask for interest back at this stage? In the LBA template letter on here, it includes interest, but in the step by step guide it says not to until you put in a court claim...which should I do? Thanks in advance! Leah x
  3. Hi Jen - Sounds good! I'm also sending off my prelim letter tomorrow. I agree that the process is daunting - especially the potential court case! :-| I'm claiming on behalf of my husband - for this round we are claiming back 850.50 GBP (sorry - american laptop with no pound sign!) from his current account. How about you? Hopefully we will both be successful! Best wishes, Leah x
  4. Great - thanks so much for the quick reply Lucid! Cheers, Leah
  5. Hi all - I hope someonecan help with this very quick question. I want to send off my preliminary letter, but am not sure who to send it to. I sent my S.A.R. to Penny Berryman in the Data Protection Department, and I received a response from Chris Brown of the Copy Statement Unit. But they don't seem like the appropriate person to send my preliminary letter to. Who should I send this letter to and what is the address? I did try to figure it out from this site but couldn't find it. Thanks in advance! Leah
  6. Thanks Barty! Quick question for anyone who knows?? I also got me cutomer notes from Lloyds, full of crazy abbreviations and codes. I did see the sticky thread at the top of the page about these, but I have some on my letter that aren't included in the explanations in the sticky thread, and Lloyds didn't send an explanation of the abbreviations with the letter. The abbreviations I don't understand are: CLP HLT Refer CSRN LAN EVH CS pending CSRN JPQ OF205 I'm sure there are others as well...anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Leah
  7. Never mind! Got home and the information was on my doormat! Talk about leaving things to the last minute. Well, I suppose on to the next step of asking for the money back - wish me luck!
  8. Ok - so I asked for the charges (S.A.R.) on my husband's credit card and his current account with Lloyds. Today is the deadline for them to have sent the information to us. So far we've only received the credit card statements and we haven't received any information on his current account at all. So I have a couple of questions: We only sent £10, as I was under the impression that it is the person's record, not the amount of accounts, that they charge you for. Is this correct? They haven't cashed the cheque yet either, which is unusual, no? Because they have only given us half of the information we requested, what should I do next? Should I phone them to ask about the rest of the information (if so, who do I phone?), or should I just go ahead and make a complaint? If I make a complaint, then what? Help! Thanks, Leah

  10. Thanks again - does this mean I'd have to include a cheque for 20GBP, or does the 10GBP cover it?
  11. Thanks Michael. Another quick question - I only just found out today that you can claim back for credit card charges as well. If my DH also had a Lloyds TSB credit card, do we need to start a seperate process, or can we include it in the S.A.R. letter along with the current account?
  12. Hi all, Just want to introduce myself! I'm Leah and will be claiming charges back from Lloyds TSB on behlf of my OH. I haven't sent the first letter off (asking for details of charges over the past 6 years) - and I just wanted to ask a couple of questions before I proceed (I've read the FAQs, and I'm pretty sure these aren't in there?): Does my OH need to open an account in another bank before requesting the details on charges over the past 6 years? I found out about claiming bank charges back through a friend who sent me to moneysavingexpert.com. I downloaded and printed out the DPA letter, but then I found this site and the letters look very different. Does it matter which letter I use? I know Lloyds are arguing when they get letters through that they are "vague" - will the one from moneysavingexpert.com be considered too vague by lloyds? Thanks in advance! Leah
  13. Thank you both! Hopefully it won't go to court - scary! From reading the Lloyds forum it looks like they can be pretty tough. It all seems a bit overwhelming! But I'm going to go ahead with it and see how it goes. I'll go ahead as planned with the letter asking for the record of charges over the past 6 years. Feefofum - you mentioned you could speak for your boyfirend if it had gone to court - is that something we can actually do in court? I'm doing this on my DH's behalf as I'm more financially savvy than he is, and would be more comfortable arguing with banks (also helps that I was raised in the US - I hate bad cutomer service!!). Cheers, Leah
  14. Hi all - I wanted, with my husband's knowledge and approval, to claim charges back from Lloyds TBS on his behalf. If I claim on his behalf, is there anything different I need to do? Do I use his name on the letters? I've seen other people mention that they've claimed on behalf of others and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice! Many thanks in advance, Leah
